what do YOU know? your diatribe is totally off the mark. It is not just up to the EU to declare a separate country- all it can do us support it- IF enough people demand it. Is the Palestinian territory part of Israel? No, I didn't think so- so what's it to you ? Israel would be better off without this millstone- so leave the Basques, Catalans, Welsh, Bretons etc. out of it-. We will separate when we are ready, and nothing you or Israel says matters to us. Bibi talked big at the UN, so did Abbas- but neither is showing ANY guts, cojones and willingness do really talk peace. Always blaming the other guys is cheap talk.

Roman   (09.30.11)
yes, he did they it- then he gave the go ahead for more settlements- hard to tell now, is it? He just boycotted his own peace talks... it is called 'talking out of both sides of your mouth'. It is not up to the EU to prevent Palestinians to have their own state- the TBs here are mostly wrong about this. Israel has NEVER listened to anything anybody has suggested, except the Americans, who are getting mighty tired of supporting a country that acts like a spoiled brat.

God gave the land to the Jews. Jesus was a Jew. Moragh knows that and who the land belongs to.
66. Ashton what about independence for Corsica & N. Ireland
DavidM ,   USA   (09.30.11)
The EU leaders particularly Miss Ashton ought to look at themselves before condemning Israel. The Europeans deny independence for Corsica and Northern Ireland.Until they grant these nations independence they should pipe down.

Since there has never been a country called "Palestine," there is no "Palestinian" territory. The rest of your post is, therefore, complete rubbish. You are not intelligent to post here. Go away.

Contemplate where "armed resistance" has gotten you the last seven decades, and figure out what will happen to you if you continue. The United Nations Security Council has no enforcement powers under Chapter VI of the United Nations Charter, which is the Chapter under which any ersatz "Palestinian" statehood will be considered. The General Assembly has no enforcement power at all. Contemplate that while you're in your "thinking" mode. Then go back to watching Sesame Street. Armed resistance? Oh, please do. We are ACHING to crush you. Positively aching. And this time -- it will be for good. We're sick to death of your violence and your endless whining.

Those people you mentioned in Europe that want independence/self-determination are good examples.. But the problem is maybe exactly that - do they want it bad enough? Does the majority of them actually want it? .. I mean, I want independence, I want my own little country where I would president and peasant at the same time, hold elections for myself and have an army .... Can I? Can i? Anywayyy … the Palestinians have shown that they want it bad enough, that ALL of them want it and that they have an arguable claim …. Re the TBers who keep on mentioning “3,500 years ago, bla bla bla”, it has to be noted that 3,600 years ago and before that of course … possibly for as long a period as 25,000 years, other peoples lived there … Canaanites were the latest before you guys genocided them out of existence …. Or not?
70. #2; #3 & #6; RESPONSE
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (09.30.11)
#2 & #3; Calm down, all the EU really said was that the Palestinians have a right to self determination, so what? Nothing new about that! They also said it has to be done at the negotiating table, and that Israel has a "right" to "exist within safe borders". Most of the Arab leaders don't agree with that, so that ends the peace deal, right?? #6; Stop making up what people say. Nowhere in the article does it state that. Plus there wasn't one TB that you could have been responding to that made that accusation? So get that BIG chip off your shoulder. Stop speaking for the Jewish people, your remarks prove you simply don't know what your talking about, and you look foolish. BTW,do you love, hate, or are you indifferent towards Jewish people?

Of course G-d gave the land to the Jews. But Jesus had nothing to do with it.Yes ,I know that Jesus was a jew.The best that the Jesus scholars can come with about Jesus is that he was a wandering sage. Also there is nothing at all written about him by any of his contemporaries (in his life time). Not one word-so that means that he was not a well known or "famous" person. If you are a Jew you should know that.If you are Christian then I know where you are coming from.
