4. Statistics and Lies
David Chester ,   Petach Tikva, Israel   (10.05.11)
As it is said there are black lies, white lies and statistics! These data are incorrect and the level of unhappiness, if it can be judged at all in Israel, is low. 25% of our children do not have proper food and are hungry at the time when they attend school. Many families here are homeless and are not receiving the social care they deserve. And as for medical matters, well 707 doctors have recently resigned (poor salaries and long hours) and are due to leave their hospitals as paid staff very soon. So stop patting ourselves on the back and DO SOMETHING GOOD to raise our level of contentedness please!
5. It's the Economy, Stupid
Ed Codish ,   Pardessiya, Israel   (10.05.11)
Mr. Plocker's article is dishonest in a number of ways. First, median is not mean. Median divides the population into two groups. Half the population makes more than the median income, half makes less. The mean, or average, adds everyone's income and divides by the number of people. In a group of ten, if someone makes a million shekels and nine people make ten shekels, the average income is 10,009 shekels. The median is one shekel. Plocker knows this, which is why I accuse him of dishonesty. Income disparity is similarly handled by dealing with rates of change rather than real, absolute numbers. Plocker knows it costs more to live here than in America; he will not, because it destroys his argument, write about real prices of real commodities, such as cheese, meat, gasoline and apartments. Only once, despite himself, does Plocker slip and admit that policies have "made the relative situation of our poor worse." There are standards of honesty and integrity even in journalism. Mr. Plocker does not meet them. Ed Codish Pardessiya

8. @3 Stupid American Taxpayers?
Sheik rattle & roll ,   USA   (10.05.11)
Israeli's pay 100 percent tax on just about every thing that moves and you call American tax payers stupid. Every time you fill up your gas tank you fill up BIBI's tank as well. Every time you buy a beer in a pub you buy him as well and if you compare American prices maybe 3-4. Every time you purchase a car you could be buying him 2. I admit America needs to trim its military expenditures and cut foreign aid and raise taxes a percent or two to cut the deficit, but there is no need for you slam us without looking in the mirror first.

If it wasn't so funny I'd die, Lord have mercy, thanks Ynet the humor of this article is homicidal and the stats are so sacrilegious we in America don't feel no more pain, due to our plights and deficits as long as you people are happy and might I add at our expense, its' just that good ol Christian charity, you know we love sweet Jesus here, and well you know he love Israel.
14. @ 1, those protesters can do two things about their becoming
leo ,   usa   (10.06.11)
able to pay the rent. First, go to work. Second, cheaper rent rates - location, location, location. Nobody says one must live in Tel-Aviv.
15. @ 14: Unemployment rate is low, stupid. They're underpaid.
Nowhere Man ,   Metropolis, Zion   (10.08.11)
They can't afford to pay the rent or cottage cheese though full-time employed. Market is held by monopolies & oligarchies. As for cheaper rents, it's the owners who define them, not the protestors.
