1. It's not just because Grad is Israeli.
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (10.26.11)
Malaysia is a Muslim country, but with numerous non-Muslim communities - Indian and Chinese, Buddhist and Christian, etc. All those non-Muslim communities are given second-class treatment, and "apostasy" remains a serious crime. And though Israel and Malaysia have no disputes between them, Malaysia is part of the Muslim "umma", so such ill will toward Grad shouldn't surprise.
2. Ignorance but improving.
Bukkiah ,   Nashua, USA   (10.26.11)
There are ignorant forces round the world (see Viktor Frankl) at least the better part of Malaysia is winning, because the visit was arranged and many Malaysians got their first sight of a real person, who happens to be Israeli. They have no sample size because they are banned from meeting them. Israelis may see it as banned from entering Malaysia, but Malaysians are the people deprived as a result. Hopefully changing for the better.
3. Muslim world is full of Hate, confrontation and intolerance
Jorge ,   Tegucigalpa   (10.27.11)
Western world in greatly to blame, allowing them to carry on their chauvinism and intolerance, and condoning their constant speech of hate and incitement, it is state sponsored in a worldwide scale. Not only the madman from Tehan practices it, but all Arab and Muslim leaders carry it on. Their target is not Israel, it is western civilization, and the whole world.
4. Flying from London To Singapore on an Israeli passport
Yoac Naor ,   Haifa Israel   (10.27.11)
I landed in KL with an Israeli passport, they stamped it,then realized their mistake and cancelled it....They would not allow me out of the airport. I had to wait for a next flight out of KL to Singapore.........
5. And the BBC, CNN and SKYNews say it's a wonderful place!
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (10.27.11)
The promo says"Malaysia truly Asia ". They should add "but Jews not allowed!"
6. Isreal boxer a reality star in Malaysia
Ch ,   KL, Malaysia   (10.28.11)
Hi Grad Please accept my sincere apologies for the treatment you received from some of the fans over here in Malaysia. Malaysian generally have no problem with Israel and her people and it was the government which played up the anti-Israel sentiment to divert the people's attention on its flaws and corrupted practices. There are more than 2 millions Malaysian Christians, some of them have visited Israel more than once. I hope one day (very near future) Malaysia and Israel will have some diplomatic ties that will enable both their people to visit freely both lovely countries. All the best to your chosen career.
7. Malaysians are Moslem fanatics
Laila ,   New York, USA   (10.28.11)
Malaysians are Moslem fanatics
8. Israelis in Malaysia
Simon B ,   Kfar Saba   (11.01.11)
Kol HaKvod to Grad for competing in Malaysia, however he wasn't the first Israeli to compete there. In 1997, the Israeli cricket team played in the ICC Trophy. For their troubles they were persued around the country by Muslim organisations and were heavily protected by the police and the army, I believe. Funnily enough, when the team competed in the 2006 tournament in the UK, their first game was cancelled due to protests and their remaining games were moved to an RAF base somewhere in the wilds of Scotland also under army protection. England, Malaysia - the world is full of antisemites.
