31. #22 Doug - It's a CRIME
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (10.22.11)
when they dug a tunnel into Israel to perpetrate a kidnapping, which is a capital crime in most countries That's one of the reasons that Israel has a "NO GO ZONE" in the area, Apparently it wasn't extensive enough Pls. no BS about Geneva, which Arabs have consistently violated when it suited their purposes Shalit was NOT permitted to have any visits that were supposed to have been allowed as provided for by Geneva, including those he should have had from the Red Cross Don't talk about laws & legalities, unless you abide by them 1- The first major one that was broken by the Arabs, was the UN Partition Plan, in defiance of the UN Res.181, Five Arab armies combined forces to attack Israel on 5/14/58 2- 1949 Rhodes Armistice Agreement, (Greenline) Nasser violated it on their behalf, closing the Suez to Israeli shipping 3- 1967 - Syria, Egypt and Jordan combined forces and attacked again 4- 1973- Yom Kippur War, Egypt & Syria attacked That isn’t Hasbarah, that’s fact

They say that he was really pale and had trouble breathing. I had somewhat similiar symptoms (I also slept a lot). MIne wasn't from not having enough food though, it was more from losing blood though internal bleeding and emergency surgery. It is sounding like the same anemia though. Hummus is high in iron. He just wasn't given enough food.

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (10.22.11)
Oh, yeah, Gilad is anemic. He is also likely severely depressed. Look at the pictures of that poor boy. He was starved. He never saw sunlight -- Vitamin A and D deficiency. The degree of his torture rivals anything the Nazis ever did. We need to make it right. We need to make it right. I hope we do. And I do not particularly care how many ersatz "Palestinians" die in the course of our making it right.

Birdi ,   Israel   (10.22.11)
Every sane person who saw photos of Gilad Shalit as he was released into freedom could see for themselves that he had been deprived of a substantial good diet & sunlight which is vitamin D. He is now being treated for the deficencies he suffered at the hands of cruel Hamas.
35. ooops pressed the wrong one.nevermind If humous is so nutric
KATE ,   ISRAEL   (10.22.11)
Humous is so nutricious HOW COME Gilad LOOKED Skelletal (some responders are deluded and foolish beyond belief) Even it is okay,,After awhile eating it day in out WOULD MAKE YOU BLOODY SICK You damn sick people.ONE THING WE COULD ALL SEE WAS ;He looked ill, very weak, thin beyond belief( oh just remembered if humous is so good and so nutricious why did HE NOT PUT ON WEIGHT you bloody dummies.. Nuff said..
36. shalit poorly nourished in captivity
metal ,   sydney, australia   (10.23.11)
we bring holocaust upon ourselves because we simply do not understand the enemy well enough to respond appropriately. When will Israel AND Israelis learn that the arab scum interprets kindness as weakness.
37. Palestinian diet for Shalit
Truthseeker ,   USA   (10.23.11)
Does anyone remember when a high Israeli official speaking of Gaza said that Israel would put the Palestinians "on a diet." No one in Israel complained and now many Palestinian children are malbourished because Israel will not allow proper food to enter and because there is no work and no money. Sio why should anyone expect Shalit to have had better food than the average Palestinian. Why should he not have been also "put on a diet.?
38. Shalit got excellent treatment considering our cruelty!
Yossi ,   Israel   (10.24.11)
39. Shrimp, caviar and the rest of the drivel
Ramallah wallah ,   Tel Aviv   (10.24.11)
You guys are just so filled up with irrational hatred you cannot see past the nearest border post. It's very sad that you cannot bring yourselves to just get lives, get real, move - or live in your own tunnels.
40. Shalit
kenny ,   australia   (10.24.11)
Does Israel really care for its returned son Sergeant Shalit? Or was he just used as a political pawn?
41. Shalit's lousy diet
Miriam ,   USA   (10.24.11)
At least he was fed... Who can be thanks for the starvation rations "permitted" the 1.6 million hungry Gazans, cleverly calculated down to the calorie by the Occupiers. No doubt Gilad ate better than the thousands of remaining political prisoners in Israeli prisons.
42. Malnourished
Marilyn ,   USA   (10.24.11)
It just stands out more, because perhaps we're not so used to seeing malnourished people. Sure you could say that we see the advertisements for children in Africa. As far as the Palestianian people would more call them a normal weight. It isn't so much upon seeing them almost a kind of shocked reaction.
43. Malnourishment is better than torture
Carol ,   USA   (03.27.12)
Considering Gilad's captors are not rich themselves, it comes as no surprise the menu they ate and fed Gilad was limited in calories and nutrients. I wonder why this should make the news. Give me the choice of being gang raped or fed hummus and pita - you guess what my choice would be.
