1. Why is Israel trading anyone?
Howard Immanuelson ,   US   (10.22.11)
This guy is a US citizen too and we pay Egypt how many billions of dollars a year? Has the US lost so much credibility that we can't demand that our citizen be returned? This is ridiculous -- the Egyptians even admitted he wasn't a spy.
2. errrm...I'm sorry, but WTF!
Barry ,   Center of Israel   (10.22.11)
Doesn't this mean that all Israeli's are now targets for extortion by Egypt. Shouldn't this article say STAY AWAY FROM EGYPT because you face arrest by the Egyptian government and you will be held for ransom. Doesn't this deal now make Egypt our enemy? No other country in the world would tolerate this behavior so why do we, it's time to call a spade a spade and be done with it. The powers in Egypt want to play the Israel card to gain popularity before elections. This is shameful Israel. Take this case to the UN.
3. Faustian
rom ,   israel   (10.22.11)
We, Israel, have sold our collective soul to the devil.
4. be aware that E Jerusalem will be the next bargain
mary of Bethany ,   singapore   (10.22.11)
when your prison is empty, East Jerusalem will be the Final target! not to mention full refugees return! don't make it a habit to compromise, the west will also get use to think that reward kidnappers is the right thing too! arabs' greeds never end at prison empty!
5. so arab nations' new hobby is kidnap Jews?
mary of Bethany ,   singapore   (10.22.11)
so it's the Norm that One Israelis worth hundreds if not thousand of any nations' citizens.... that kidnapping Israelis no longer restrict to soldiers but also nobody like Grapel. from this forth Israel must work hard to capture more and more criminals from palestinian- hamas, Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey.... so Israel must catch more bad guys yeah? then start with Zoabi, Tibi, maybe Abbas himself also.... in case every Nation around her join in the fun to kidnap Israelis to exchange prisoners.... what else can Israel do? Since Kidnapping Israelis is a NEW HOBBY FOR NATIONS AROUND HER!
6. Grapel and Shalit deals connected
David Cohen ,   Milwaukee, Wisconsin   (10.22.11)
The price for Egypt's role in mediating the Shalit exchange was the release of Egyptian prisoners from Israeli jails. US SecDef Leon Pannetta was in Cairo pressing for Grapel's release (he's a US citizen, too). "Why is Israel trading anyone?" Because that was part of the Shalit deal.
7. Good for the Economy
Andy ,   Canada   (10.22.11)
Who cares about 81 Egyptian prisoners? Give them back to Egypt and let them feed them. Maybe they can cook omelets with all the gas they aren't selling to Israel. We save all the money looking after them and free up space in the prisons. Everyone wins. Grapel may not have made wise choices but he doesn't deserve to be in an Egyptian jail. Egypt will soon imprison these criminals Israel is releasing as who wants them running around society?
8. only Death Penalty can stop the cycle!
mary of Bethany ,   singapore   (10.23.11)
it's a cycle, arab commit terror kill Jews, IDF captured terrorst arabs, arabs kidnap Israelis to threaten Israel, Israel released terrorists...... arab re-start cycle again by commit terror kill Jews.... so let the cycle ends at IDF captured terrorists.... Death penalty will end the cycle! then Israel live happily ever after! mothers of Israel, Shalit, Grapel, will your son be next?
9. egypt's dishonorable attitude
joel ,   usa   (10.23.11)
this is clear ign of how the arab muslim don't honor a peace treaty, egypt is now in the hands of the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood, the source of al qaeda and other terrorist group, ok? its time israel should prepare for a big showdown in the sinai desert, expect more terrorists to use the sinai?
10. The problem is not the enemy. We know the Arab mind, they're
tom ,   tel aviv   (10.23.11)
not even hiding it. Our problem is our own Mr.Buzaglo on the street. As long as there're organizations like 4Mothers, B'tzelem, Shalom Ahshav, writers like Mr.Oz and the ''artistic'' clique we don't stand a chance against the Arab barbarians at our gates. Education is the answer.
11. 81 cigarette & cannabis smugglers, No thanks!
