1. I feel so sorry for Gilad
Moragh USA   (10.23.11)
If he doesn't awaken in the night with nightmares, I will be very surprised. After all that time in solitary confinement other than sharing time with the Hamas thugs themselves. How will Gilad ever be able to get over that nightmare? How does he feel being able to see the Sun? It's going to be a long hard road for him. I wish him only the best life can bring. G-d Bless you, Gilad! My prayers are with you.

While I certainly share your sentiments, I think that, in time, Gilad will be able to go on with his life. He's young and he has a very supportive family...two things that are in his favor. And think of the Holocaust survivors who've been able to put their lives back together...although, frankly, I can't even begin to fathom how they're able to live with those nightmares. But I'm sure Gilad will get whatever help he needs. And, hopefully, he'll have a very bright future.
4. It has been a long road for Lt. Col. R.,

just as it will be for Gilad Shalit. I pray they both find peace and closure.

You are aware that: 1. Gilad's grandfather is a holocaust survivor 2. Gilad's uncle (his father's uncle) was killed in action in Yom Kippur war These two points indicate that Gilad comes from a strong family of survivors so I am sure that it will please G-d to assist this young man as he moves forward with his life.
6. The Question Is "Can Gilad Survive A Polarized Israel?"
World Citizen ,   the world   (10.24.11)
Look at the people in Israel that resent the fact that Palestinians were traded for him. People who said out loud before he was released that he should be forgotten as just a casualty of war. And what if Galid were to say that his Palestinian captors were humane in their treatment of him? Think of the hatred that would bring down on him. Think of how politically incorrect that would be. My bet is that Galid Shalit and his immediate family will emigrate from Israel within five years becasue of what it has become.
