1. It's just coincidence
Kyle ,   Southpark, CO, USA   (10.27.11)
But it shows how happy everyone is for Gilad!
2. Remember thegreatest RABBI of all
jason white ,   afula,israel   (10.27.11)
that came from Brooklyn was Rabbi Meir David Kahane! He was a Mensch, scholar, fighter and prophet. Probably someone will show up with a dollar bill that the rebbe predicted the next time the Mets will win the World Series.
3. rbbe's dollar coincidence
moron ,   galut   (10.27.11)
at least i hope so because superstition is unfair to rebbe
4. Right
Ian ,   South Africa   (10.27.11)
& the Rebbe turned out to be father christmas in his previous life.
5. Shalit for PM!!!
Tevye ,   Chelm   (10.27.11)
6. Stupidity
simon   (10.27.11)
To the realists out there-how many ways are there to dispel the myths. To the "Hedyotim" out there - make copies and perpetuate our ignorance in our homes, shuls, and yeshivot. You the "Hedyotim" are right - with every gneration from Sinai you are getting less intelligent, how sad.
7. EXCELLENT and TRUE!
Israeli 2   (10.27.11)
8. Gets more like Christians everyday.
Josh   (10.27.11)
What next pancakes with faces on them and a line of milk drinking statues? Every "father" gave their blessings before they were dead because your can't give them afterwards. Nor can a dead "soul" reverse the choose life or choose death nature of Torah. On Sukkot we are suppose to give to G-d so we are blessed and enemies are not swarming upon us. Anyone giving a plate of food to dead "souls" that live eternally in heaven to get blessings simply reminds me of Christians. Choose life doesn't produce a world of nations against us. Anyone recount the prohibition of turning to the dead and divination? Once again, in my book it is Deveraim 13 test being failed by our very leaders.
9. A woman's son taken by vile captors?
Avi   (10.27.11)
Has anyone read the Torah. "Sons being taken captive" is not about miracle foreign currency with scratch out notes. One cursed event being canceled out by a piece of paper and the release of many vile criminals in a miscarriage of justice is not MY idea of G-d's favor and intervention. I won't be taking off work to bow to these mongers of religion's pitfalls .
10. Israel is mocked by the trade, by Joseph we were saved.
Ben   (10.27.11)
No comparison.
11. ok then so when r these miraclemakers going 2 do IDF service
(10.27.11)
12. Another 'coincidence'...............
K.O'Neil ,   London   (10.27.11)
The Haftorah reading on the Shabbos of Shalit's release reads: "......to remove a prisoner (asir, singular) from confinement....." Isaiah 42:7. It is very possible that Shalit's release is a prophetic trigger or marker. Read the entire section: Isaiah 42:5 - 43:10. Shalom.
13. This is really intriguing.
Rachel ,   Jerusalem   (10.27.11)
This can in no way be coincident. The dollars of the Lubavitcher Rebbe were really special. I also find the Joseph link so interesting. I wonder what the deeper connection is, why would both the capture and the real ease be on days that are tied to Joseph. I can't think of any other days in the calendar that are tied to Joseph in any way so this is significant. The Biblical Gilad was Joseph's great grandson. Gildad also came to Israel via Egypt.
14. The Parade of Morons
Joshua ,   USA   (10.28.11)
It never ceases to amaze me: idiots calling themselves Rabbiis and the Morons that follow them!
15. Rebbe : Tzadik...yes. Messiah...no.
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (10.27.11)
16. More than 1000 Hamas terrorists released...
Ehud   (10.28.11)
...is a divine intervention? According to this logic god let Hamas kidnap Shalit in the first place in order to free 1000 terrorists. Maybe it would be better he - and the Rabbi (who died 12 years before the kidnapping) - would not interfere. By the way, I believe Hamas claims it was Allah's intervention in favor of their prisoners. Actually, this would make more sense.... When are we getting freed - by divine intervention or human - from this superstituous primitive and infantile nonsense, which so contravenes the true spirit of Judaism - the negation of all superstitious bullshit (shlilath avodah zarah)
17. No. 11
NYC Girl   (10.28.11)
I agree with you about the "miracle workers" and I'm not sure how many people are aware of the fact that the Lubavitcher Rebbe had never even stepped foot in Israel in his entire life.
18. Mumbo Jumbo from the Grave
Norbus ,   Jerusalem   (10.28.11)
Orthodox Judaism abhors the sad mumbo jumbo, chabad promotes like witch doctors do. Sorcery and the like is abodah zara and forbidden Dayan Michael Fisher z"l of Mir and London who learned at the feet of the Chofetz Chaim, used to say the Mashiach can't be crank, when Schneerson was still alive but ill.
19. At least it makes sense: We know that God speaks Dollar-
tom ,   tel aviv   (10.28.11)
language! Also He likes to talk to deranged, white-robe clad individuals on mountain tops, who upon descending start asking us for our Dollars to support their spreading of God's Word. The magnitude of human imbecility is proportional to the power accredited to this Pie- in- the- Sky purveyor of Eternal Moronism !! Amen and good luck to us all.
20. Why is it necessary
Paul ,   Jerusalem   (10.27.11)
when you have a clear example of the power of the Righteous, to associate it with witchcraft. If you think that was good, imagine when the world sees the prophecies of 2,000 years ago become reality. Ynet just couldn't help itself and had to use the demeaning term, 'a special "charm"', shame on you. The media needs to educate itself beyond the superficial social and political ideologies that infest this world with lies, and shewed perceptions.
21. rebbe/shalit
ben avraham ,   brooklyn ny   (10.28.11)
and my Roman Catholic mother ( I am a ger) told me that my brother survived a terrible accident because she prayed to the Virgin Mary to save him and my father told me it was because he prayed to St. Joseph, who is the patron Saint of carpenters and it was just "coincidence" that the bro was brought to St Joseph's hospital and it was because of their intercession that my brother was saved. What is the difference between this and Rebbe worship? Judaism says there is ONE God and we don't need intervention.
22. #12 Do you know the oldest trick in the book? Out of context
Josh   (10.28.11)
There is one thing that many fail to comprehend about the Gan Eden story and that is that words should not be taken out of context. Start instead at 42:1 and read. Clearly Isaiah was predicting that "he" already "had been chosen" and that "he" would see from G-d and do himself those things "now". The passage is about the audience before Isaiah and the events are suppose to be from the "present tense" about things that Israel and the Goyim have already done "past tense". Nothing is being triggered by a dollar bill and nothing from scratched out dates in this prediction of Isaiah and his warriors having an immediate successful battle and judgment of the gentiles. In fact what did happen to Israel after Isaiah's battles? Disporah? Apparently the "now all will be alright with the world soon" was battle hype.
23. Connection To Yosef (to #13)
Yakov ,   us   (10.28.11)
The connection seems quite obvious between Yosef and Gilad: Both were kept Captive in Egypt!
24. what a load of.......
oliver ,   eilat   (10.28.11)
25. #21 learn some history
Nate ,   Sydney, Australia   (10.30.11)
Please explain the concept of vayaminu bahashem ovemoshe avdo (They believed in hashem and moses his servant) Please explain the concept of a navi Please explain the concept of miracles in Judaism Please explain the concept of Tzadik and please explain the concept of Nevuah. You have a lot of learning to do mate, before you start comparing legitimate concepts in Judaism to christianity.
26. nonsense
meir ,   far rockaway ny   (10.30.11)
What a poor attempt at prophecy...note the year is LAST year...so much for predicting the exact date. We should giveNO credence to this folly...it desecrates true Judaism...
27. amazingly true
hila ,   miami   (10.30.11)
this is defiantly not coincidence, there is no such thing as a coincidence
28. To "nonsense" - Date is 21 years ago
Avi ,   Miami, USA   (10.31.11)
It says 5751. May the Rebbe's memory be for a blessing. And may us all realize any "miracles" he performed were in his lifetime. This is not one of them. Best to Gilad and his family.
29. To #21: The difference is...
RY ,   Brooklyn   (10.31.11)
No one was PRAYING TO the Rebbe. Tzadikim have intervened on the behalf of the Jewish people since the beginning of time, the Rebbe is no exception. But they weren't davening to the Rebbe the same way that people didn't daven to Moshe in the desert. Before you say we "don't need intervention," take a look at the Torah. We'd be wiped out by now if Moshe hadn't intervened after the Golden Calf (or a dozen other times where we needed serious assistance)!
30. Prophesy?
Alfredo ,   Raanana   (11.01.11)
Remarkable how such correct "prophesies" are announced after the event, while other predictions/prophesies/whatevert which were incorrect are ... forgotten.
