5. What happend to the art of surprise?
Loves Israel ,   USA   (11.03.11)
Why is Israel announcing to the world that they are attacking? They should attack quietly quickly and stealth. Pretend its an internal affair, and deny everything... Why do they warn Iran??? Someone please answer me!!
6. Spare your words Mr. Salehi, Iran is too
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (11.03.11)

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (11.03.11)
.... from the violence-inspired idiots in Teheran. Sure. Iran doesn't trust its regular military. The current leadership no longer has the trust of the common people. In fact, they are sick to death of the leadership, which explains why the Revolutionary Guard -- which the Iranian "leadership" does trust -- is deployed putting down nearly daily demonstrations throughout Iran. Iran's standard military does not have access to Iran's top-of-the-line materiel (not that it is any good, in any event -- it is all Russian or home-grown, and we see how effective Russian materiel has been in Chechen, and Iran's home-grown materiel is useless -- and the Revolutionary Guard is busy mowing down civilians -- so while Iran can trumpet as much as it likes, the fact of the matter is that they have not improved since the Iran-Iraq fiasco. That went rather badly for Iran. Eight years; one million casualties. Frankly, I am not impressed. They would not last too long against Israel, and it is a given -- now fairly well documented, actually -- that the United States, the U.K., and likely France and Germany will come in easily on the side of Israel. It's a prospect worth considering. Iran represents the gravest threat ever to civilization. Well -- they've been warned. Iran has ratcheted up the level of rhetoric beyond what is tolerable. I am gratified to see that other nations have lined up with Israel. Iran grossly overestimates its capabilities, and it overestimates the support it can muster from its citizenry, who happen to have grown extraordinarily tired with primitive mullah rule, as well. Iran just may be fated to discover -- the hard way -- that extreme stupidity is fatal.
9. #5, I will answer you: this is last ditch

diplomacy...a last warning shot !
10. Threats to Iran
graczek ,   Maryland, USA   (11.03.11)
From Iran to Zionists: Bring it on! You and the world will be taught a harsh, lethal lesson your few survivors will never forget!
11. Israel does not stand a chance
meir elazar   (11.03.11)
Iran has an army of the world's best photoshop artists prepared for any Israeli assault. The resulting photographs that Iran will produce will be graphic and extremely humiliating for Israel. Iran has already begun preparing massive clipart collection of blood and dismembered body parts in the most graphic form possible. Tatoos with stars of David will be professionally applied to each of the body parts. Israel does not have a chance against these top notch photoshop artists. Be warned Israel.
12. It will be a strategic mistake
Magnum ,   UAE   (11.03.11)
It is not a journey in case Israel or US attack Iran..As a matter of fact Iran will definitely brutally retaliate against any attack either Israel or US contemplate to exercise it on its territories. The retaliation will not only be directly on Israel but also the US military basis in the Arabian Gulf and its interests around the world will be targeted. Another fact is that Israel will be attacked by Hezbulla from North and from the Palestinian resistance in Palestine. Imperatively that Israel will receive tons of military aids from US and its western allies, but the scenario will be different taking into consideration that any military strike on Iran will be a strategic threat to Russia.
13. Re #8
Ray ,   Germany   (11.03.11)
relax darling ... there has been no announcement just a bunch of assumptions. Assumptions are the mother of all fuckups ... relax!! when it comes and if it comes I'm sure you be tucked away in bed days or years from now.

Perhaps they want to give the Iranian leadership ulcers and interfere with their sleep. I love your name by the way.
15. Reply to #5
Charlie ,   Alabama, USA   (11.03.11)
The element of surprise isn't really lost by announcing it in this day and age, since everybody threatens everybody, and then nothing ever happens. In fact, it's like the boy who cried wolf-- after awhile, people not only stop listening, but they actually start laughing about it. Then, all of a sudden, the wolf really does attack, and everybody is just as shocked as if they never got any warning, if not more so... and the wolf gets the last laugh. I say, "Go Israel! The United States and Britain WILL help you if needed."
16. israel is afraid, it will ask others do it.
John ,   France   (11.03.11)
Iran is not another tribe country like Jordan or Syria, its roots go back thousands of years
17. The latest "news" of Israeli training exercises,
seadog1946 ,   ErieBasin, NYC   (11.03.11)
rocket fuel/motor tests and bewailments of possible WMDs in Iran is all noise... the quartet has tasked the PA and the current Israeli government to provide security and border proposals by mid-january... a "crisis", any "crisis" will provide Bibi with an excuse to miss the Quartet's target-date/milestone because he and his Likud led administration don't want to draw a map that would contain Israel's proposed borders. Heavens, no! Can't have that! That would be a tangible negotiating point.
18. Time machine
Samuel Tayar ,   Montreal, CANADA   (11.03.11)
"its roots go back thousands of years" .............and destined to return shortly.
19. my thoughts on an iran attack
real ,   usa   (11.03.11)
I think iran is full of crap. Sadam said the same bS as the us troops were loading up on his border. Irans air defence systems are 30 yrs old and many of their aaa sites are non-functioning. All this talk is a deterence not a warning. They want the us and israel to get scared and hopefully not move forward. They know there is no way they can withstand an attack from a sophisticated military especially with their homegrown missles. They seem to think it will be an all out war when in fact it will be stealth bomberse and cruise missles simply crushing their nuke sites and their air defence systems. The rest of the mission will be focused on keeping the oil lanes open and shooting down any crappy missles they shoot our way. No boots on the ground and air supremacy will be had in hours of starting the attack, their airforce is old and weak. The us and IAF are the best the world has ever seen.
20. Paper Tiger
Gershon ,   London UK   (11.03.11)
Iran - just like Iraq - big mouthed bullies with no teeth. Iraq threatened "to cutoff the arms and legs of anyone who would attack them etc". they collapsed almost immediately. Its time to invade Iran and rip out the cancerous mullahs and islamonazis. When we hit them, and hard - like all bullies they will be reeling and begging for mercy
21. Listening to all their rubbish..like Saddam all over again
Baghdad Bob Returns   (11.03.11)
...except..there definitely are WMD's to be found. All bullshit...couldnt fight their way out of a wet paper bag.
22. $10 gasoline in the USA will not be popular
Steven Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (11.03.11)
...nor will Israel be popular for dragging the USA into Israel's self-inflicted problems, again.
23. To: No. 13
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (11.03.11)
Really? So a country such as the U.K. -- on the verge of bankruptcy -- spends tens of millions it doesn't have to beef up preparedness? That's more than an assumption, darling. That's called getting ready.
24. To: No. 16
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (11.03.11)
Israel is not France. We are not cowardly collaborators like the Vichy.
25. #12 although I see your point
Amy ,   Chicago IL   (11.03.11)
Russia will not inerfere because they will only benefit from war in the middle east. They will have someone to sell wepons to and the price of oil (their major export) will go up. This is why they oppose the US in every way possible in this region... it is finanically a huge gain for them. Now as for attacks from hezbullah and hamas if Israel attacks iran: the most prudent thing to do would be first to level gaza because at that point iran and hezbullah would not interfere. Then to move on to hezbullah and save iran itself for last. Iran only likes to supply their terorist lap dogs with weapons not any physical military aid.
26. to # 8 - Sarah B
Dino Domingo ,   Vancouver, Canada   (11.03.11)
...look you who is doing the chest thumping!!! no mistake, I hope Israel pounds the living hell out of Iran...and Turkey/Syria/Egypt and anyone else that participates in terrorism. My point here is you...Ms Israel (living in the US), one who continuously discredits Germans, Brits, Americans....you seem uncharacteristically thankful for once in your life that many Nations (as I have said several times in the past) support Israel...we just dont particularly like some hideous and ridiculous opinions and ungrateful attitudes...but Israel is not the enemy...people like you create the animosity with your hundreds upon hundreds of lies and disrespectful comments about other nations and their politics...as if Israel is 100% right in everything it does! I hope there is no war...maybe just a few Iranian facilites flattened and life goes on! Israelis or Iranians don't need to live to a hellish experience because of politicians...yes, I know, the Iranian leadership is NUTS...agreed....but Israel has been teetering on a few topics so I hope they engage in war because of political credibility rather than national security!
27. #12: Where the hell is the "Arabian Gulf"?
Jack ,   San Diego, CA   (11.03.11)
28. Strike on Iraq by the US was also a strategic threat....
Jacob ,   Montreal, Canada   (11.03.11)
...to Russia, but Russia did absolutely nothing except bitch and moan in that house of ill-repute, the so-called "UN". What makes you think it will be different this time around? By the way, China did nothing either.
29. Nr 5.
Arn. ,   Sweden.   (11.03.11)
Have you heard the story of the Sheepheerders ? One of them is crying - The Wolves Is Comming, and the others runs to his help, I was just Joking he Said. After a couple of times in this regard the Wolves was comming, The wolves are comming he Shouted, the other Sheepherders ignored the call. So I Imagine because the option has rested on the Table a decade now, and nothing has happened making it seem as nothing will happen. I am afraid thoug that the Real Wolves in this matter, will be first to strike. God bevere !. But nr 9 has also a point. Arn.Sweden.
30. Ha! That's good, #11.
