31. You can float flotillas till you get blue in
(11.04.11)
your faces, but it will NOT help you. Neither will it help the Gazans who cal themselves foreign names - Palestinians !? As long as there is an Israeli navy this Turko-Irish charade won't fly. Why don't they try instead to convince the Gazans to stop launching missiles into Israel?
32. Destination: "betterment of humanity"
William ,   Israel   (11.04.11)
at that point, I would have re-directed the flotilla ship to Syria. They could use some humanity these days.
33. "Activists promised in writing not to confront IDF soldiers"
William ,   Israel   (11.04.11)
which only shows that the organizers too agree with the Palmer Report which assessed that activists on the Mavi Marmara attacked IDF soldiers and caused the response, which Palmer said was justified. In essence, the organizers know they're acting illegal and are trying to cover their ass with documentation.
34. $30K of medical equipment?
William ,   Israel   (11.04.11)
Ok, so that's about 45 wheel chairs, or 2 very old x-ray machines, or 1/3 of a ultrasound machine, or 1/5 of a kidney dialysis machine.
35. #2 - hahahahaha!
William ,   Israel   (11.04.11)
Yeah, terrorists and war criminals get such a bad rap these days, and really deserve support.
36. #24 - the siege is a result of your own hate
William ,   Israel   (11.04.11)
Notice - the siege did NOT exist before your leaders declared unilateral and illegal war on Israel, declared this sovereign member's destruction as their sole goal, and committed daily war crimes by sending rockets against civilians. Notice - you NEVER publicly disapproved of this illegal action against civilians, but you DO protest the result when it affects you. There is no end to racist hatred in Gaza, even against non-Muslims there. And that racist hatred is NOT a human right nor approved by the UN, but the Gaza blockade was deemed legal. If you lived like peaceful neighbors when Israel gave you the opportunity and a built economy in 2005, Gaza would be a different place today. Even Egypt keeps you from free travel. I wonder why? Think about that.
37. Vessels and goods should be confiscated and
Oleg ,   USA   (11.04.11)
sold on the open market auction. The proceeds should be used to cover expenses, that Israel have intercepting those provocateurs. This should be done for every transport, that will attempt to enter blocade zone.
38. My support to Tzahal from Spain
Tsaf ,   Madrid.Spain   (11.04.11)
I think the IDF has done his duty to protect Israel. People who go on these ships are hypocrites who do nothing when other countries kill to innocent persons.
39. Irish-Canadian flotilla
Cameron ,   USA   (11.04.11)
What an odd ring that has to it.
40. was the sea also promised
observer ,   Egypt   (11.04.11)
41. easing the blockade
observer ,   Egypt   (11.04.11)
Even if the blockade is eased it remains illegal under international law as it is a collective form of punishment on a civilian population. Eighty percent of Gaza's population is aid-dependent. Allowing more aid in is perpetuating this dependency and not addressing the issue of self- sufficiency or the root causes of the crisis. What have not been addressed by the easing of the closure are the issues of exports as well as the limited number of crossings open to facilitate the flow of goods. Easing the blockade does not address the rebuilding of 60,000 homes destroyed by the Cast Lead.
42. dont worry israel will be accused of stealing it
zionist forever   (11.04.11)
More evidence these flotillas are about breaching the blockade and humanitarian aid second. The Mavi Mara didn't have much in the way of humanitarian aid onboard and this one despite the fact they had $30 million of the stuff they had nothing. Israel needs to highlight this scam and hopefully it reduce the support for these little cruises in future.
43. to NYC girl
well ,   well   (11.04.11)
but those people in gaza are suffering, and what would you know about it being in new york?
44. #1 Couldn't agree more. End
Lizette ,   Stockholm Sweden   (11.04.11)
45. I Love when IDF acts in this esplendid way!
Keren ,   IL-BR   (11.04.11)
46. LOL!
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (11.04.11)
A "humanitarian" flotilla that does not carry humanitarian cargo. How embarrassing for the organizers. And how instructional for the world.
47. I Smell a Red Herring
emanon ,   USA   (11.04.11)
This was too easy . . .
48. #12 and #43
Henry from New York ,   USA   (11.04.11)
#12, the San Remo Memorandum is not the Balfour Declaration. The San Remo Memorandum is the document that states a nation enforcing a legal blockade has the right to intercept blockade runners that have declared their intention to run said legal blockade. It is what gives Israel the legal right to intercept these ships. #43: According to the Deputy Red Cross Manager in Gaza, there's no humanitarian crisis in Gaza. I think that she'd know better than any of us, now wouldn't she?
49. Duh!
Joe ,   Florida, USA   (11.04.11)
No aid on board? Reeeeeally? Is anyone surprised by this? D'Bags.....all of them. Certainly they can now find a way to play the "victim" so the world media can write something anti-Israeli.
50. #20,23 and 29
shlomo   (11.04.11)
Its always about money with you people, isn't it? BDS
51. #46 those are Freedom Waves, not humanitarian flotilla
observer ,   Egypt   (11.04.11)
52. no cargo! then, will they have to pay for towing
observer ,   Egypt   (11.04.11)
53. No "aid" found? Then they dumped the weapons they carried!
Dr. L. Brnd ,   San Diego, USA   (11.04.11)
The "activists", had they been allowed to proceed, certainly weren't about to show up in Gaza looking like imbeciles with no medical supplies or other aid. They were likely carrying military items like portable radars, GPS, communications items or alloy nozzles for Kassam production. With no "aid" aboard, they should be treated like common smugglers who dump their cargo when cornered. The ships should be confiscated unless they pay the entire cost of the intercept and towing operation. They should NOT be allowed to proceed to Egypt, but arrested and held until the possibility they were ferrying military items is thoroughly investigasted. Maybe that is why they were so secretive about their departure and did not allow inspection by the countries they sailed from. With a hostile group like the anti-Israel and anti-Jewish Irish, that is a likely scenario.
54. @ #37 which goods?
vienna ,   austria   (11.04.11)
there were no goods to confiscate. those arrogant fools! this whole flotilla story is infinitely ridiculous!!
55. #47 - u r correct
James ,   Raleigh US   (11.04.11)
The words "test run" and "distraction" come to mind.
56. Ali #24
Leslie Fraser ,   Ashkelon Israel   (11.05.11)
Beg your people to stop sending rockets over here and then we'll talk. The blockade exists for a reason - because the people on your side don't know what peace is! You take every opportunity you can to smuggle in and fire missiles on our cities, without any care of the damage you cause or the people you harm. Beg your own kind first.
57. Flopita
Iranian Jew ,   LA   (11.05.11)
Let's keep the Iranian journalist and ask for $1M in return. That's the price Iranian set for the 2 idiot hikers. Why not make some money on this while we are at it?
58. 24
john Darren ,   cairns-Australia   (11.05.11)
Stop your whining-you are not a sovereign state you fool. You are squatters in Gaza.
59. #41 always observing
Iranian Jew ,   LA   (11.05.11)
You are Muslim and Gazan are originally Egyptians. Take responsibility and take care of them. Your army left them behind an your country is running away from its national duty to help its own people. You dumped them on Israel and now you complain about their condition? How dare you? Are you that spineless to admit your own mistakes? Hating us is not help. You need to look for a real solution. You clearly lack any sort of logic or reason for your agenda. You just want to see Jews suffer. How typical!!!!
