...if they do "hit back hard" as promised then its all the reason Israel and the US need to reduce Iran to a parking lot. Israel cannot afford Iran to retain its capabilities - nor can the USA. There is absolutely NO WAY Iran will get off the hook if the Mullahs respond as threatened - NOT A Phuquen chance. ...AND once such a sitaution exists...ANYTHING that moves or looks suspicious will be targeted...it could go on for years....a long drawn out war with no boots on the ground...Israel would have the green light to annihilate Hezbollah and nail Hamas and Islamic Jihad for every little thing they did. The current leadership of Iran is simply not amenable to deterrence. It believes that with nuclear weapons it will be able to wipe out 7 million Israelis and that if they lose 20 or 30 million of their own people in the process, that is an acceptable cost. Or - they can give nuclear weapons to their terrorist proxies to wreak destruction on Israel and the hated West. All of Israel's (and the West's) options are bad - but the worst would be for Iran to acquire nuclear weapons. So thanks for your counsel - but I think Israel wants to live.

Even if Iran will eventually be defeated conventionally, it will never be invaded and occupied. and its nuclear program will be back in two or three years. meanwhile a global crisis has depleted the world and the peoples of the region to revolt against the Arab leaders allied with the United States.
