1. Please don't call these people Anonymous
Henry from New York ,   USA   (11.06.11)
These script-kiddies and rage-filled simpletons are not true Anon. A real Anon would not be crashing the sites for any political motives. A true Anon is a nihilist and would crash the sites for the lulz, caring nothing for people on these flotillas. They also would not be revealing their names as we have seen in other stories, or be having spokespeople or leaders. It's disgraceful that these people continue to masquerade as Anon, and I'm happy many of them have been stupid enough to expose their IP addresses and use sites that would allow local law enforcement agents to track them down. These fake Anon deserve nothing less for their stupidity.
2. This is what happens when you use misconfigured IIS
David ,   Haifa, IL   (11.06.11)
Let's hoep the pencil pushers learn their lesson now before it's too late. The state of IT in government is desolate, like in a 3rd world country and it's a disaster waiting to happen.
3. Too interconnected?
Bruno   (11.06.11)
If these various sites were all affected, then there is clearly some common factor, or degree of interconnection which needs to be addressed. Surely such critical sites should not all be in the same "basket" or server farm. What ever happened to redundancy? Someone somewhere should be seriously worried.
4. Even the fact of announcing which sites were affected
Bruno   (11.06.11)
is a serious lapse of judgment, since it shows just how connected they all are.
5. Are IDF, Mossad and Shin Bet all on same server?
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (11.06.11)
Unless all three security organization are running off the same server (which would suggest negligence), the idea that a server malfunction would bring them all down strains credibility.
6. finally...leave the screen and make a field trip
Lemmings Hotline ,   sd usa   (11.06.11)
Great opportunity to see how your country is managing first hand. Go visit the homeland security of the border towns check the trashy rivers and smelly beaches. Check the bomb shelters and the gas masks
7. FreeBSD/Linux and Apache...
Fat Freddy's Cat ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (11.06.11)
the servers would still be running. Windows OS and IIS is garbage, never secure, a resource pig and very susceptible to crashes and just outright breaking, usually after installing a Microsoft patch. As for Anonymous, like #1 said, script kiddies and BS. You should see the racist/anti-Semitic comments their "social justice" followers have spewed. You need everything you need to know about the leaders by the actions of their followers.
8. Malfunction v Hacking?!
Ayeush ,   Gibraltar   (11.06.11)
Euh?!! I beg your pardon...considering one of the two as the apocaliptic one, I would say the Hacking is far less ominous than the other. The confession that our enemies cannot hack our most important tools of national protection, instead we do it, thank you, by ourselves is an act os desperation scrambled with lack of reasoning. I do hope that the "Our best minds 9that) are working to fix the problem/s) would come up with the honest conclusion that it was a HACKING, and then proceed into finding a better FireWall.
9. Hard to imagine that this is a coincidence
Annonymous   (11.06.11)
since it happened only a few hours after Annoynomous declared war and promised continued attacks unless the arms blockade of Gaza is lifted. If this group intends to degrade Israel's security they should be hunted down.
10. 1027 terrorists released
(11.06.11)
for gilad shalit. now they have something to do.
11. STXNET ON RETURN JOURNEY?
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (11.06.11)
Sarah?
12. You want to know who did it?
Robert ,   Australia   (11.07.11)
Iran has some extremely competent IT experts!
13. Anonymous vs. Server Crash
George Oshry ,   Kiryat Yam, Israel   (11.07.11)
It may very well be that the server crashed, it has happened to others, even Google. What was more appalling was the recorded message of Anonymous - the person showed absolutely no knowledge of International Law of the High Seas. The blockade is completely legal, and the flotilla's violation of it was in fact a violation of the law. Period! That the participants stated purpose was to cause a provocation (no humanitarian aid) demonstrated that we're dealing with true oxymorons.
14. What, have all the Nobel Prize winners gone on a vacation?
Michael ,   California, USA   (11.07.11)
15. Anonymous
Jake Goltsman ,   Netanya   (11.07.11)
From the history of Anonymous, they always let the body, that they are attacking, to know about the attack, about a month earlier. It happened in the Australia attack and in the Pirates Bay attack.. Also, Anonymous, after they are attacking, they live their flag in the attacked location. So this crash is most likely a server malfunction, but the next one, will be Anonymous.
16. This was an Iranian attack!
Judge   (11.07.11)
Bibi & Barak are two scared to admit it now that they have opened their mouth and talked too much!
17. So use DDOS against their sites
A   (11.09.11)
Use their weapons against them, google JS LOIC for instance and use that tool to take down anonops (the link is on the page). Whok, exactly, is going to listen to anonymous? Perhaps someone might like to use their knowledge to build a weapon that these so-called "hacktivists" (the bulk merely follow instructions) can download and use in their "Campaign", one that sends their actual IP back to whomever wrote it (of course the tools used to date wouldn't do that:|). Typical, cowardly keyboard warrior wannabees, supporting equally cowardly "freedom fighters" that hide amongst families.
