Amos ,   Surrey, Canada   (11.08.11)
I do hope you are in Vancouver Washington not BC. How much support does Israel need to build on its own land? yes, its own land. Do we Canadians need our Natives support to build in Canada? Did US settlers ask permission to build in Mexican states? Did the world permit or did Britain need the world support to divide people, create kingdoms for their friends and general s--t stirring world wide? why the double standard for Israel?
32. Sorry Oleg, even that won't win them to Israel's side
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, DC USA   (11.08.11)
Oleg writes, "Israel can only be a winner if it creates a cheap fuel and give it for free to the world, so that nobody would depend on oil". Even were it within Israel's power, what makes you think even this will win them to Israel's side? I recently had dinner with an Israeli water engineer who's done extensive work in Gaza, the West Bank, and Jordan. In Gaza, he advised against over-pumping ground water. But he was an "Israeli", so they didn't listen to him, and they ruined the aquifer. Israel also provides clean water to Jordan, beyond that required by treaty, at a cost lower than folks in Tel Aviv pay. Yet there are Jordanians who insist the water is "poisoned", so much do they hate Israel and the Jews.
33. :-)
J.Gad ,   israel   (11.08.11)
but nobody knows if they were really talking about politics.. sometimes polticians talk about sports? women? he never read the washington post?, he dont play sudoku or golf? he dont know to sketch horses like Jerry? ...lol
34. Let me spell it out loud: H-Y-P-O-C-R-I-S-Y !!!
Tamar ,   Canada/US   (11.08.11)
What strikes me as a bit odd is the fact that out of ALL the decent, honest and saintly world leaders, Sarcozy and Obama choose to focus on Netanyahu... They don't mention progressive and pacifistic leaders in "enlightened" Africa, Syria, Saudi Arabia, North Korea, China, Russia....No, the ONLY politician who's dishonest and disliked is Netanyahu ! That's what I call HYPOCRISY at its best !!!
35. As per usual,......
Gideon Reader   (11.08.11)
...Juan McCain is not all that correct in his analysis. America, i.e., the United States is not hostile towards Israel. Just a particular so called American, wrongly employed pro tem, in the position of President. That individusl happens to be anti-Israel (as democratically contittuted) and not all that enamoured with JOOOOZ at large. It is always best to call a spade the freaking shovel, when one can.
36. Bibi is really a LIAR
Prince Bowaa ,   Redmond, US   (11.08.11)
why are you all surprised. The truth need to be told. why should the powers kowtow to Israel?
37. McCain
Sam ,   NYC   (11.08.11)
Oj, John, get lost already, you've lost the election, get used to it. An everybody knows that Netanyahu is liar, as isSarkozy, or Obama or any other politician everywhere in the world. What about all the countless lies Sen. McCain and especially his so-called running mate, that moronic MILF Sarah Palin had told during the 2008 campaign?
38. Bibi is a liability for Israel
Judge   (11.08.11)
Last week Israel lost 104-17 at the UNESCO but the worst part was on the roll call when Israel voted "NO" everyone laughed out loud!!! In other words Bibi has made Israel the laughing stock of the world. Then he goes on with his idiotic threats to Iran with nothing to back it up. And today as IAEA sas Iran is working on nukes, this report comes out, I think not coincidentally as the "west" is sending a message to both Israelis and Iran with this "open mic".
39. what do you expect
marc ,   abilene,texas   (11.08.11)
France and This president have always attacked israel. Look at both of their histories! Closet anti-semites
40. McCain; kissing a$$ won't get you the presidency...
(11.08.11)
41. Sarkozy calls it as it really is...
(11.08.11)
42. Funny when politicians call each other liar
Yaniv ,   Israel   (11.08.11)
Politician is by definition the same as liar
43. So they both don't like Net
Cameron ,   USA   (11.08.11)
Surprise? Big deal. The world will keep spinning, and geopolitics will proceed apace. Back to rockets & nukes if you would.
44. McCain
Adisa ,   U.S.   (11.08.11)
McCain claims to be an admirer of Netanyahu. Well at least he has one fan. Since I have been aware of Netanyahu he has never held a strong place in the eyes of the Israeli people. Each time he has led the country he has presided over very narrow and fragile coalitions. It's interesting McCain didn't dispute the claim just that America shouldn't feel that way.
45. So we're your ally
Paul ,   Miami, USA   (11.08.11)
And now we have to bark like a dog anytime anyone says anything insulting about you? Get a life and let go of the apron strings while you are at it.
46. #31 Amos
John ,   Hamilton, ON   (11.08.11)
Yes, we need native support to build or even look at Native lands. What does what happened hundreds of years ago to do with illegal settlements? You mean it's ok for the US to settle Surrey, B.C. today? Watch YOUR double standard.
47. Sam and other McCain bashers
Ignatious Mucklefutz ,   US   (11.08.11)
According to Sam, when a man loses an election, he loses the right to speak his mind. Also, exactly what lies did McCain tell during the campaign? It'seasy to mae accusations. It's harder to back them up. For those of the Obama amen corner, McCain was not just talking abpout this incident. Obama's rude behavior towards Netanyahu along with his bowing to the King of Saudi Arabia absolutley is an indication of his true feeling towards Israel. Sarkozy is just doing what the French do all the time----gossip and cause trpouble and contribute nothing.
48. Sark and O can say whatever they want
USA   (11.08.11)
US and Israel need to step back before the "Unbreakable bond" blows up in their face.
49. Moronic US Jews Will STILL Vote For Obama In 2012
David H ,   Marietta USA   (11.08.11)
And vote for him overwhelmingly to boot! Hell, Iran could nuke Tel Aviv tomorrow, Obama will praise the action, and the Jewish vote will still go to him. We can't appear racist now, can we? Where we come off priding ourselves on our collective intelligence is way beyond my comprehension.
50. Jewish voters
Sam ,   Calabasas, Ca. USA   (11.08.11)
You unfortunately are correct. There are too many Jews who do not think for themselves but vote Democratic because they always have. I was also a Democrat until I opened my eyes.
51. McCain Comments
PJW5552 ,   Lexington USA   (11.09.11)
Has McCain ever been supportive of anything Obama says or does? What exactly would McCain do to get the stalled peace negotiations going, give Israel the green light to do whatever building it wants? impose sanctions on the Palestinians? McCain is an admirer of anyone who doesn't agree with Obama. Maybe its time to retire this old horse. He seems not to know what country he has a sworn allegiance to anymore.
52. The Obama administration has refused comment on the Obama-Sa
David ,   San Francisco CA   (11.09.11)
What bothers me is Obama isn't even man enough to apologize for his inappropriate remarks. Regardless of the microphone being on, once the remarks became public, in my opinion, he was honor bound to apologize. Common decency demands it. His silence shows a lack of character.
53. I totally agree withe Presidents
Simon ,   Malcha   (11.09.11)
Come on people, get a grip... we know it is true! the irony is they probably are aswell!
54. The Truth Will Set You (Us) Free!
Shannon Johnson ,   USA   (11.09.11)
What did you expect? The ramifications of trying to follow someone that's blindy going off a cliff is assiniign..Just think, Nixon was the only US President forced to resign...............?
55. If you are an American...
Dave ,   USA   (11.09.11)
...and you vote for a president based on your perceived sense of their allegiance to a country other than the USA, you should quickly examine the traitorous nature of your views. The US is an ally to Israel, no matter who the president is. Even so, it is not a requirement that the US fight all of Israel's battles for them. We have more than enough pressing issues at home.
56. easier said than done.
Stas ,   Phila   (11.09.11)
If they could, they would have done so.
57. Sarkozy was telling the British PM Cameron
Claudia ,   Tampa USA   (11.09.11)
last week to "shut his mouth"! Perhaps the Sark has postnatal depression? He's really becoming an ass. Of course that isn't hard for the French.
58. How would you feel?
Jennifer S ,   San Francisco, US   (11.09.11)
I don't believe Obama meant to disrespect Israel. Sarkozy is a strategic US ally on more than just one burning issue. He likes to reach out and find common ground with people - to build relationships with them. In this context, is it really so awful to commiserate (in what you believe is in confidence) with a peer about this high stakes, perplexing, festering issue that no one believes will be resolved in our lifetime?
59. Sarkozy & Obama
Ameridane ,   Aarhus, Denmark   (11.09.11)
The first is called Sarcozy de Nagy-Bocsa, Hungarian parents and Anti-Semitic par excellence! The second is called Hussein Obama with Muslim roots- What a great couple-
60. to 18
john Darren ,   cairns-Australia   (11.09.11)
