9. Islamic Republic of France
Dallas ,   Canada   (11.10.11)
The country still has some great tourist potential but to take France seriously on any other level is getting very difficult.

12. the quartet cannot be considered neutral
Bernard Ross ,   st anns bay, jamaica   (11.10.11)
therefore, Israel should tell them to sit on the other side of the table. France, and by extension, eu have already decided on negotiation outcomes.
13. Disgraceful French prejudice
Israeli grandma   (11.10.11)
The French have no right to define any territory in this region as "occupied". This is a shameful adoption of the Arab propaganda message. The fact that France has been "occupied" by over a million hostile Muslim immigrants may have something to do with their official attitudes. Also I hope that when they replace Sarcozy in the next elections we will see a wiser and more balanced French leader.
14. Harsh wording?
JP DeCostanzo ,   Occupied Palestine   (11.10.11)
Reality is always harsh, you have to accept that.

16. Passports of 'Babel' have been created
Roland Seener ,   London England   (11.10.11)
Israel can do likewise.Other countries can do the same to their neighbours and former countries to which they had civil relations with.
17. It's really a shame for country like France to
Kosta ,   Ukraine   (11.10.11)
give a legitimation for continuous terrorism, Moreover absence of support for pease in the middle east due to this kind of recognition. It's known issue that there is a big part of muslims living at France, it's a matter of time until they claim that France was their country once and they lived there, we will see you then. That is a process which takes time , but already now muslim population at France it's 50% and more.
18. France=Vichy=Appeasers
Meir ,   Toronto Canada   (11.10.11)
Sarkozy thought Bibi lied. He didn't, he just said the truth-Maale Adumim and other settlement blocs are remaining part of Israel and building will continue there. The French prefer diplomatic B.S.
19. Apparently, nothing to be negotiated
James ,   Australia   (11.10.11)
Jerusalem is the undivided capital of Israel. Gilo is an inseparable part of Israel. Maal Adumim is an inseparable part of Israel. Ariel is an inseparable part of Israel. By all means, how can you even talk about a "peace process" with the Palestinians under these circumstances. Where do you expect the Palestinians to have their viable state...on the moon?
20. Boycott French fries.
Devorah   (11.10.11)
21. Doesn't mean a damn thing!
Natan ,   Maale Adumim   (11.10.11)
It's our land. It's our home. We will continue to build and grow.
22. Bibi is the Liar??
Larry ,   Los Angeles   (11.10.11)
What was Sarkovsky complaining about Bibi for? The French can not seem to realize that Israel is on the map. When dealing like people like this it makes sense to change the truth.
23. nr. 19.
Eva ,   Jerusalem   (11.10.11)
No,not on the moon, Jordanie is more than ok.
24. Get over it
Mike Carmel ,   Rishon le Zion   (11.10.11)
Let's get this straight - you are requesting a passport from a foreign nation because you are a citizen of that nation by descent (not by birth) and therefore you think you are entitled to dictate to them what they write on their passports? Whatever you think Maale Adumim is DISPUTED territory and therefore they are entitled to put whatever they like on their travel documents. You are not doing them or yourself any favours by arguing about it and the fact that you insist they write Israel on the document shows that your loyalty is not to France, so why request a passport from them in the first place?
25. French fries
Mervyn Doobov ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (11.10.11)
In proper English, they're called "chips".
26. Peter SM is Right
Mark ben Josef ,   USA   (11.10.11)
Conquest is not sovereignty. Sovereignty to be determined by negotiations. Just like the US passport case is a matter of US law and who controls the issue, this is a matter of French law.. Apparently, they don't buy the 'no occupation' and 'right of conquest' arguments of Ayalon.
27. passports
Vicki ,   Nitzanei Oz, Israel   (11.10.11)
This is nothing new from France... is anybody surprised? Sarkozy is the real Liar.
28. Peter
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (11.10.11)
Un 242 stipulated that Israel has to evavuate occupied territory . Not ALL the territories . This was also explained by the person who wrote 242 . We did'nt want Israel to evacuate THE territories , but territories , he said .
29. Boycott French cars!
Moshe ,   Israel   (11.10.11)
30. on another note:
Gabriel ,   Leiden, Netherlands   (11.10.11)
'I knew that the French were anti-Semitic...' If you already feel that way about France and the French, why apply for a passport? I wouldn't want to live, or study in a country where I would feel hated because of what I am, no matter how long my ancestors lived there. although the phrasing 'occupied Palestine' is unfortunate, I agree.
