2. #1 DISPUTED LAND IS NOT "STOLEN" - OF COURSE
Scott ,   Australia   (11.15.11)
Big difference. Where you live was probably (may even still be) disputed. Why not go and complain about China? No , to people like you this is all about "the Jews".
3. new building
adam ,   ny usa   (11.15.11)
Why dont you learn some history before postin ingnorANT ANTISEMITIC comments...jews were there before palestinians existed...control your hatred
4. Yes #1, stolen. But liberated since.
BH ,   Iowa   (11.15.11)
Always has been Israel, always will be.
5. Unlimited Judea/Samaria buidling because they are ours..
Chaim ,   Israel   (11.15.11)
Israel should not build to "punish Palestinians". Rather, we should build, without any limitation whatsoever, in Judea and Samaria because they are ours. They've been orus for more than 3,500 years. We've legally proven they are ours.
6. Build a casino then we can all gamble.
Eric..... ,   Israel...   (11.15.11)
Then the Jews and the Arabs might be able too live in peace. We will all be occupied making money, instead of being occupied by the peace process.Which is never going too happen.
7. Please ask Jews to make more babies !
Moshe ,   Usa   (11.15.11)
8. Building in Judea and Samaria
max ,   washington dc   (11.15.11)
Building in Judea and Samaria by Arabs and Jews is not illegal nor an obstacle to any Peace to be agreed to by Israel and the Palestinians. The problem has been and continues to be the Arabs refusal to accept Israel as the Jewish Homeland State and their avoidance of direct negotiations. Maybe Peace negotiations can begin when Hamas is disarmed, along with Hezbollah and Irans soon to be developed Nuclear Weapons..
9. Stolen land?
Jerry ,   Israel   (11.15.11)
Surely you mean borrowed without asking
10. homes
Mike ,   UK   (11.15.11)
Great Bibi, one land for two people. I'm looking forward to telling my children that there was once a country called Israel which was born out of the ashes of the holocaust as a home for the jews. Slowly but surely this dream is disintegrating before our very eyes.
11. #1
Sam M ,   UK   (11.15.11)
Correction it's Jewish land. Go and learn some history you ignoramus!
12. To #10 Mike
Rachel ,   US   (11.15.11)
You'll be telling that story not about Israel but about your own country, the former "Great" Britain going down.
13. @ No.1
Ahron ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (11.15.11)
Dear Split, Your comment about stolen land is RIGHT ON!!! You're correct, but not for the reasons you might think. You see, historically, Judea and Samaria were/are OUR homeland. Hence, the name Judea/Samaria. We're just simply reclaiming our "stolen" land. I wonder if you consider the U.S. "stolen land", since you're ancestors, I'm guessing, were not native to North America. The reason I come to that conclusion is because of the ill-informed comment you made. Hope I clarified this for you.
14. #1 - considering it was owned by Jews before 1949
William ,   Israel   (11.15.11)
when it was ethnically cleansed and stolen by Arabs, it's just a matter of the legally upheld "returning of the rightful land owner".
15. Wait for it, waaaiiittt for iiiit.........
Jake ,   USA   (11.15.11)
US condemns! EU condemns! UN condemns! UK condemns! France condemns! etc. etc. etc.

Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (11.15.11)
18. #1 Agree, on stolen land...in occupied Palestine
Ben Alofs ,   Bangor, UK   (11.15.11)
A blantant violation of international law, i.e. the Geneva Conventions. Even Israel's Supreme Court has declared that this is Occupied Territory.
19. #9 Stolern Land?
Meir ,   Toronto Canada   (11.15.11)
Jerry, I suppose you would have expected Israel to ask the Jordanian occupiers in June '67 to not attack Israel? Oh, Israel, I think actually did that!
20. #1, Yes the land was stolen
Golani ,   USA/Israel   (11.15.11)
Yes the land was stolen and that is not right. But it was liberated in 1967.
21. What a refreshing article!
Mark ,   Lodz, Poland   (11.15.11)
Judea and Samaria was part of the post WW1 British Mandate of Palestine that was earmarked for the Jews. What happened, split, was the the Brits prostituted themselves for Arab oil and reneged on their obligation to us, split. It is hardly stolen, disputed at worst, split..get a life.
22. Jews have a right to live in Judea and Samaria
Yael Schlichting ,   Raubling - Germany   (11.15.11)
The fact, that Arabs displaced Jews from their soil with the Arab-Israeli war of independence, doesn't give the Arab any right to claim this land their own land. Jews lived there before and they have a right to return. Arabs never rightfully claimed the land. After the San Remo conference in 1920 the British mandate power instantly opened a cadastral register and this register remained open until 1968. When the Israeli authorities finally closed this register, the Arabs still only claimed 31% of the land and 69% was owned by NOBODY!!! This is the land, which is allocated for settlements and I find it totally okay! Israel didn't cause any of the wars against the Arabs, but she won them. Hence, Israel procured the right to return to the land of the patriarchs.
23. Not in violation of Oslo, nor "Palestinian" land
William ,   Israel   (11.15.11)
The expansion of the larger settlement blocs were allowed in the Oslo Accords, and this action is in line with the agreements the "Palestinians" themselves signed. We're not responsible for "buyers remorse" nor do we care. And in ever negotiations until the present, the settlement blocs named in this article were going to be part of Israel in the final agreement, with an equal land swap. Nothing is new here. Israeli MKs falsely using the allowable building to be a "response" to the UNESCO vote, and "Palestinians" and their supporters falsely claim this is "settlement building on stolen land".
24. BUILD ISRAEL BUILD! BEFORE THE PA UNESCO STEALS YOUR LANDS!
stude ham   (11.15.11)
25. Not for nothing, but ....
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (11.15.11)
"The plans in question have already drawn numerous condemnations in the past from the United States, European states and the Arab world, which all view such construction as a violation of the Oslo Accords." The ersatz "Palestine" Authority seeking to bypass a negotiated settlement by approaching the United Nations and its member agencies directly is ALSO a violation of the Oslo Accords. Where is the worldwide condemnation?
26. not punishment but also not waiting for "peace"
Bernard Ross ,   st anns bay, jamaica   (11.15.11)
Unlike the welfare palestinian ersatz state that does nothing productive Israel cannot wait for peace to develop and grow. It has cancer vaccines to develop and other endeavours that are constructive
27. ''ISRAELI'' RETALIATION.
SJOERD RUURD VDV ,   MULTIVERSE   (11.15.11)
TO DO THAT FOR RETALIATION BY THE ''ISRAELI'' LEADERS-SHIP THERE COULD BE A POSSIBLITY THAT THAT DECISION WOULD BE CONSIDERED AS NOT SMART IN THAT CASE BY (THE REST) OF THE FAMILY OF MANKIND.
28. Keep on building
Beary White ,   Norway   (11.15.11)
Continue developing Israel. The arab neihghbors created the refugee problem, and also put many wars onto Israel. Then they have to swallow the losses, and understand the Israel actual has the right to stay on the land, originating from the ottoman-area. The arabs did NOT accept the bordersfor the young Israel, why should they be entitle to draw the new lines? Kiss my ass.!!!
29. disputed only historically dumb people. arabs stole it from
ralph   (11.16.11)
the jews. so proper phrase and historically correct one is jewish lands stolen by arabs and now re-conquered by the jews. if arab conquest is okay to # 1 then so should be jewish conquest. if not acceptable as an argument to # 1 then neither is his argument and if so...then F yourself # 1. we're back now. get off my land you murdering thieving arab.
30. Why not build 195,300 new apartments?
Michael ,   London   (11.16.11)
