let's understand the difference between israel and egypt quite clearly: an israeli woman who poses naked for a camera risks very little, except for (maybe) a little teasing, or unwanted attention. on the other hand, in egypt, this young woman has already received many death threats, and may even be in danger from her own family, because women have been killed for far less. imagine if the situation were reversed - would egyptian women rally in solidarity for an israeli, even for an arab israeli?

Actuallyt Salma, according to the science known as Anthropology and our beloved sub-science of archaeology, we can tell where clothing came from. Clothing, especially tailored, came about as a result of desire to keep warm during the last Ice Age. In warmer climates, it is for purposes of class-differentiation and ceremonial purposes. Later on, it came to be that clothing was about class and modesty and this idea spread of course so that now extensive clothing is the norm except in a few societies. It doesn't have anything to do with setting us apart from animals, which is just silly.

I don't know how posting a nude picture of oneself is act of freedom, but I do know that this Egyptian girl has put her own life in jeopardy. The last thing she needs is a bunch of Israeli girls expressing solidarity with her with their own nude photos. For the Muslim Brotherhood that exercises increasing influence in Egypt, this alone could be a reason to kill her.

Here in the USA, I doubt we would have even heard of Aliaa if it wasn't for your non-verbal way to support Aliaa's quest or freedom for all Egyptian women. In Gaza, you can get a woman through some honor agreement between families, and if she resists you can throw acid in her face (then send her to an Israeli hospital for a life saving treatment). First, are you sure about that? Many, many Jews were living in the modern State of Israel despite the sacking and ethnic cleansing of Jews by the Romans almost 2000 years ago. Second, per your logic, Arabs too are standing on land in which they are foreigners and still occupiers. Arabs and Islam are from Arabia, and that's where the hundreds of thousands of desert tribesmen came from to sack, occupy, torture, convert, rob, culturally cleanse, and kill people in lands from Morocco to Bangladesh. Arabs admit their invasion and are proud of it somehow believing their invasion and theft is legally valid, while natives of the land, especially those who return after centuries, is illegal. The only thing that is accurate in your post, is your strong racism which makes everyone who is not a pure Arab Muslim as "the other".
