To be perfictly honest, I think many people (especially in the so-called "westurn world") are also fed up with us Arabs. That's no biggie: US aid is only 1.4% of the Israeli military budget, and most of it is spent in the USA. Not only will Israel be free of US pressure, but Israel can also invest in its own domestic defense industries. India can be our top economic partner. It benefits greatly from Israeli counter-terror training and weapons sales. In return, Israel can open trade links with India. Make no mistake, despite India's vote at UNESCO as a gesture to Arabs, it is a friend of Israel. Trade links and military cooperation are already strong. Israel can foster a secondary relationship with China, and sell it advanced military technology in exchange for Chinese oil (China has huge oil reserves), but China is not as trustworthy, and it can only be secondary. When Jews say they are the Chosen People, they do not (at least they should not) take it to mean we are better than anyone else. We believe we were chosen by G-d to spread the word of G-d (Ten Commandments, etc.), in spite of all our faults. Given the above, and after reading #43, I have to agree with you about Roy. There are many others like him. Not only should Israel not trust Obama, the Americans should be even more wary of him.
