Ha-Shem Yeracheim!
2. Just what we need a communist/socialist
jason white ,   afula, israel   (11.24.11)
head of the Bank. Perhaps we can get Dick Goldstone as our representative in the u.n.?
3. This would be funny
Sami ,   New York, USA   (11.24.11)
This would be funny. And they would pay no taxes for 10 years.
4. Paraphrasing Freud, "Sometimes a visit is just a visit."
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (11.24.11)
DSK has denied any plans to move to Israel. And would we really want a BOI governor prone to hitting on the country's women? Fisher is doing a fine job and talk of his eventual successor is w-a-a-a-y premature.
5. DSK in Israel : no thank you
patrice ,   israel   (11.24.11)
Stanley Fisher did a fantastic job to our economy; DSK is a pretentious economist with no inspiration: he is greatly responsible for the current Greek crisis. That DSK follows on Katsav steps would be more than likely...and we sure can do without 2 top public figures together in jail for rape or sexual harassment...
6. Yipes... Lock up your women.
(11.24.11)
7. No. Just. No.
Shimon ,   Cincinnati, USA   (11.24.11)
This has to be a bad joke. Please say it isn't true.
8. If the bank of israel does NOt care about MORALITY, than YES
nice ,   tlv   (11.24.11)
9. Maybe he will undo Fisher's damage
Larry ,   Raanana   (11.24.11)
Maybe we will have money to go to the supermarket again. Maybe we will have money to rent an apartment
10. Interesting
Henry from New York ,   USA   (11.25.11)
A lot of people condemning the guy just because of how the media characterised him. The guy can be innocent, but the media's already declared him guilty and everyone else is following suit.
11. 4 Raymond:: At least in Israel DSK would go to jail if he
Rivkah   (11.25.11)
hits on women. No one is sacrosanct there like in other places.
12. His wife needs to take sex-ed classes to keep her husband
Rivkah   (11.25.11)
happy at home since something is obviously missing in his marriage.
13. Oh, joy. Another criminal absconds to Israel.
(11.25.11)
14. Let's hope Fischer stays
Larry ,   Los Angeles   (11.25.11)
Fischer has been great. He has guided Israel to stability and prosperity especially in these bad economic times. Strauss-Kahn might have been good for France and the IMF but he may not do it for us.
15. An honorable man
Michael McCarthy ,   Kochav Ya'ir, Israel   (11.25.11)
Comparing an honorable man like Stanley Fisher with this creep is disgusting.
16. Selected to fill the Moshe Katsav
GideonReader   (11.25.11)
...seat, representing Israel in the Olympic Sex Abuse trials; "DSK" would be the best of all possible candidates. An huge uptick in sales of T-shirts is guarenteed and expected. I can see it now: "DSK: Shtupping for Israel, paid and unpaid!"
17. Stanley Fischer thinks macroeconomically
Borislava ,   Sofia, Bulgaria   (11.25.11)
Very smart man, one of the greatest contemporary economists. Like DSK has many in the world - and smarter, and pretty. #9,15 Enough caprices - the world is in crisis. Not in only one state, no way.
18. #5
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (11.25.11)
DSK may or may not be a suitable governor, but your words are very offensive. A real and fair justice system quickly found that DSK was completely innocent, he had no charges to answer and his accuser was blackmailing him. Or are you hinting that the same is true about Katsav?
19. This man stood up to fake prosecution. And he is
Miron ,   USA   (11.25.11)
outstanding businessman. Israel will draw strength from having this iconic person as a head of Central Bank beyond what can be harnessed by any other means. Besides, hearing how our establishment already howls hearing his name, I can't wait seeing what will happen when he is in. It will be the last day of "business as usual".
20. #9 sorrry but your post is dumb :-( Fischer saved Israel!
Michael Redbourn ,   Arad Israel   (11.25.11)
Fischer has and is doing a wonderful job and his actions are not responsible for supermarket prices. Did you notice that the EU and US economies collapsed? Did you notice that Israel's economy remained strong? We should thank G*d every day that Fischer came here to serve instead of taking a job in the private sector where he would have been paid hundreds if not thousands of time more than he gets paid at the Bank of Israel.
21. Never put socialists in charge of money. Or anything.
Chaim ,   Israel   (11.25.11)
There are good reasons Israel is thriving economically while Europe is going down the toilet. In a recent bond acution, there were no buyers for 40% of German bonds issued! And Germany is the power house of Europe. Economically speaking: Israel is sanely governed; whereas Europe is largely governed by socialists. Socialists should never be in charge of money. Or anything.
22. Young ladies ! take cover
J.K. ,   Brooklyn USA   (11.25.11)
23. #15 I agree with you, sorry for the mistake
Borislava ,   Sofia, Bulgaria   (11.25.11)
24. dsk qualifies for law of return
