31. Assad or no Assad the jig is up
Sal B. ,   U.S.A. /Israel   (11.27.11)
“It is the duty of Israeli leaders to explain to public opinion, clearly and courageously a certain number of facts that are forgotten with time. The first of these is that there is no Zionism, colonisation or Jewish State without the eviction of the Arabs and the expropriation of their lands” (Yoram Bar Porath, Yediot Aharonot, July 14, 1972,

zionist forever   (11.27.11)
Kazin This article is about would the loss of Assad be good for Israel not what do the Syrian people deserve. Whilst the Syrian people may deserve better than Assad if we are talking about whats in Israel's best interests its to leave him in power but with no political credibility abroad. We both have different interests and Israel's are to leave Assad in power.
33. Arab spring is just the rise of islamofascism
Fivish ,   London uk   (11.27.11)
The fall of the secular arab dictators will bring islamofascism to all the arab states. Israel will be surrounded by Irans. This is very bad for israel.
34. Assad needs a war with Israel vRIGHT ???
M.S. ,   mpls america   (11.28.11)
I realize it seems people over look the obvious Assad seems to be a bad guy to America thus he could improve his image with a war with Israel started in any sense way manner over any reason like the Golen Heights unfortunately it is not some thing Assad sees he thinks in too simple a way a war with Israel supported up on the left by Hezbollah would make Syria Assad stronger not weaker if he wants Arab support he must give Arabs some thing in return a war with Israel to raise Arab pride honor would be well worth the casualtys as every Arab soldier civilian killed would be a martyr to all living Arabs over night Assad would be a hero although he would still be condemned by diplomat peace mongers but they only speak never act words will not hurt Assad but how long will America tolerate his crack down suppression of any opposition partys in Syria every day he runs the risk of becoming another Gadaifi wise up Assad go to war with Israel with Hezbollah before it is too late before you become another Gadaifi RIGHT ??? Thank You... M. S.
35. Reality Check ...
spyguy ,   seattle, usa   (11.28.11)
- The people of Syria have a strong dislike for the US, EU and Israel. - Whatever government replaces Assad will NOT like the US, EU or Israel any more than Assad and will very probably dislike the US, EU and Israel even more than Assad. - Anyone that thinks the US has any control of the situation is delusional. Bibi's humiliation of Obama, the Iraq war and the Afghan war have weakened the US so much, it has no way to control what happens in Syria. - Once the new government is in place in Syria, Hezbollah and Iran will be STRONGER, not weaker. - Those people that think the new Syria will move away from Iran are completely delusional. There are many cultural and economic ties between Iran and Syria. The bottom line is as the countries in the ME become more democratic, the worse Israel's future will be. Now is the BEST time for Israel to reach a fair and just agreement with the Palestinians, before the situation becomes even worse.
36. Isaiah 17:1
J Moshe ,   Newnan   (11.28.11)
Damascus will cease from being a city. Damascus is one of the oldest standing cities in the world. If you give even one iota of care about the scriptures one cant deny the precipice we are are on. The bad thing is parts of northern Israel will be destroyed but this will prompt the return of the Messiah
37. Sarah B. #8
karmel ,   usa   (11.28.11)
Sarah very succinctly summed up Arab society. For a literary look into the primitive nature of Arabs, read Leon Uris' "The Haj".
38. SYRIA IN ASIA.
SJOERD RUURD VDV ,   MULTIVERSE   (11.28.11)
FIRST THAT CASE IS IN PRINCIPLE THE BUSINESS FOR/TO THE SYRIAN PEOPLE IF THEY WANT THAT. IF NEEDED WITH CONSULTATION ASSISTENCE OF THE ENTIRE UNITED NATIONS ORGANIZATION TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THAT.
39. Assad's fall good for Israel
SyrianFreedomEagle   (11.28.11)
Yes, my brothers and sisters from usiraiel! Assad was actually one of your closest allies. There is no question about that... What is really amazing about you, my brothers and sisters, is the fact that your probability of survival is continuously shrinking... iSrayel is more and more facing fire from all sides: Egypt, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria... Not to mention, Turkey and Iran... Of course we interpret things differently... You have your Isaiah and Zaccharia and all of this stuff and expect the Messia, which was already here according to the New Testament... But I guess, well, you should stop all your wishful thinking and enjoy this evening and the coming weekend! Life is so great! ;-)
