1. Access to farming technology
RC ,   USA   (12.02.11)
To some, their hate for Israel is stronger and more important than the need to feed their children and fellow citizens, and yet we keep sending them aid. Maybe we should let them starve until they recognize their folly. Many times have some of them proven that they will bite the hand that feeds them. Just look at the Taliban and Al Qaeda who take hostage and kill the aid workers.
2. So How Many Of The 75% Are In

4. There's something you don't see every day...
Henry from New York ,   USA   (12.02.11)
The General Assembly going something that Israel advocated for; that almost never happens. Nice to see that our Mesopotamian Protectorate is classy as always. Maybe after the PA has conned the world into giving the Palestinians a non-functional state, the Kurds will be the next group to join, free of the Iraqi title.

6. Arabs and African States
solomon ,   bklyn   (12.02.11)
Many years ago, african states were promised much by the arabs if they would kick out the Israelis who were helping them with agriculture. Their promises were not fulfilled. The arabs not voting for this proposal reveals even further their distain for non-arabs, and africans in particular.
7. Jews promised to make the desert bloom
lydia ,   Brisbane   (12.03.11)
Instead they uprooted century old olive trees, dug up the Palestinians food crops, foiled their land with du and wp bombing, poisoned the wells, slaughtered the Palestinians and stole their land. 'Fool me once' says the Arabs and Africans for they know this too well.
8. Arabs are racists
Oleg ,   USA   (12.02.11)
If you have ever read fairy tales 1001 night< you would clearly see, that arabs are most racist nation in the entire world. And, of course, the proposal was submitted by Israel, they would not accept it. And, of course, everybody would forget about this in a couple days.
9. More cheap jewish propaganda!
Salma, Palestine   (12.02.11)
10. Arabs - always their worst enemies
William ,   Israel   (12.03.11)
Arabs led the vote against or abstained the measure ONLY because it was Israeli, even though Arabs would benefit tremendously from receiving better farming technology. They did the same thing at the water conference earlier this year. They rejected Israel's participation in the Middle East Water conference even though Israel's technology is top-notch and has been used in arid conditions all over the world, including Africa. In the early 1900s, they weren't digging for oil in the desert sands, they were desperately digging for water!
11. #9 - sorry, Salma....
William ,   Israel   (12.03.11)
um, where's your Nobel Prize for actions that help mankind, again?
12. #7 - check out photos of "Palestine" in 1800s
William ,   Israel   (12.03.11)
There's a good one of Hebron next to the Cave of the Patriarchs that shows not one house, not one olive tree, nothing. Yet, the "Palestinians" claim before Jews arrived the land was lush with vegetation, Arabs were living everywhere, and it was a paradise.... guess that 1915 famine in the region was just Zionist propaganda, huh? By the way, there was a great deal of vegetation in Israel centuries ago. The Turks ripped up all the damn trees to build railways, and the Bedouins had black sheep herds which ate all the vegetation including the roots. A good reason why the Negev is solid desert today. Oh those Arabs....always leaving "good" in their wake across the globe.

Typical Palestinian response to technology, advancement and benevelence.
14. #7.Arab-Muslim history - they forced black Africans
Abraham ben Jacob ,   Canada   (12.03.11)
to convert to Islam or to be killed, and took africans as slaves -- that's racism and aparthied by the Arabs-Muslims. Lydia can make up stories all "she" wants - the truth beats Lydia's fantasies.
15. #9..salma - your people killed Africans, forced them into
Abraham ben Jacob ,   CANADA   (12.03.11)
slavery and forcibly converted them to Islam, the religion of " peace ". You are a racist with no aplologies for your crimes and no shame - you still openly display your racism.
16. Salma, you jealous wench
Scott ,   Tallahassee   (12.03.11)
What have any arabs produced since the abacus (if we can even attribute that to them)? The only inventions arabs have come up with are new ways to deny human rights and murder innocents. You and your cause are pathetic.
17. This is the only thing the UN is here for
John ,   Alaska   (12.03.11)
Feed the hungry, clothe the naked, shelter the homeless, heal the sick. This is what every religio-philosophical perspective in the world agrees on. Except, apparently, Arab Muslim nations.
18. #7
Sam ,   Los Angeles, CA   (12.03.11)
Which is why the Palestinians' population has multiplied by ten times since the creation of the State of Israel. Interesting to see how you will interpret those facts to coincide with your anti-Israel propaganda...

21. To #7 Lydia
John ,   Alaska   (12.03.11)
Ha'Shem promised to make the desert bloom, and He kept His promise as long as the Jews were in their land. From EVERY plot of land that the Jews gave to their enemies in exchange for false, lying promises of peace, the land turned BACK INTO DESERT. You should research your subject before posting.
22. The Arab-Muslims have no shame ..
Abraham ben Jacob ,   Canada   (12.03.11)
The Arab-Muslims would rather that the African people starve rather help endorse an Isreali initiative. With all that Arab OIL money what did the Arabs do to help Black Africans ?......... Not much ! The Arab-Muslims by not helping the Africans really contributed to African hunger and suffering.
23. To #19 why not just do the homework?
John ,   Alaska   (12.03.11)
www dot haaretz dot com slash travel slash the-negev-springs-to-life has the answer to your body-less post. It took me longer to type the address than to find the story. Would you please research your input before posting it?

Negev blooms more than Sinai and the Beduins in Negev are treated better than in many Arab countries
27. #7 lydia
solomon ,   bklyn   (12.03.11)
There is a problem of people cutting down olive trees. It is a small minority. The other things you mention are in your fantasies; things you wish Israel did so you can stoke your hate...but they don't. So you have to make up stories and close your eyes to reality. Don't open them; you won't like what you see.
28. Ignorant or anti-semite?
Leah ,   Israel the Galilee   (12.03.11)
I used to live in the Negev and this lady obviously never set foot there. The Israeli drip system and the use of brackish underground water etc has turned more and more of the Negew into profitable farmland. That land was a wasteland that barely could support nomadic herds. Israeli Beduins have access to schools and colleges, had their first doctor only 40 years ago through Israeli education, enjoy the same access to medical care as the rest of Israel.
29. Nege's blooming in blues
observer ,   Egypt   (12.03.11)
Approximately half of Bedouin citizens of Israel live in 39-45 nunrecognized Negev villages. Israeli authorities' treatment of the Bedouin population is ambivalent. Israel is forcing the Bedouin to concentrate in an area of 1,100 sq km, the Siyagh region. grazing has been severely restricted, and the Bedouin rarely receive permits to engage in self-sufficing agriculture. The Blueprint Negev is motivated by demographic considerations, aimed at the increasing Jewish population to offset the skyrocketing Bedouin population. In 2010, Israeli authorities demolished the unrecognized village of al-Araqeeb and by January 2011 had demolished structures there an additional eight times after residents attempted to rebuild in the wake of each.
30. Iraq's Opposition
MeMyself ,   Silver Spring MD USA   (12.04.11)
"Iraq expressed objection to the proposal on behalf the Arab states, claiming that Israel is exploiting the developing world's needs. . . ." Iraq? Didn't the Bush administration promise that their invasion will result in a government more friendly to Israel? Well, I guess it isn't technically a lie if anyone with a brain didn't believe it.
