31. #12 and #21
Henry from New York ,   USA   (12.04.11)
#12 is absolutely correct. I have seen many photos of both our own digsites and other sites taken during the Mandate and Ottoman periods and seen them very sparsely vegetated. Keep in mind the soil on these sites is very fertile. If you look at the sites today you will see them covered in vegetation (except the parts of Megiddo where the cattle have been grazing). What's the difference? Israel. #21: Influence by Yahweh and also the fact that Israelis take care of their land. Fatah and Hamas let it rot because they are to focused on squeezing money out of gullible people.
32. To #31 Henry in NY - very true

And your point is...? And the relationship of your post to this article is...? Your #19 post was proved false so you move on, without comment. Typical.
34. Ignorance is not bliss

From a historical perspective Palestine didn't exist until 100 BCE. The Land of Israel was in existence in 940 BCE, (840 years before the Romans named the area Palestine). It was then destroyed by the Babylonians exiling the Jews. Then the Jewish people returned in 539 BCE. There was no such thing as Palestine or Palestinians for another 400 years. Look it up in any unbiased history book or electronic encyclopedia. So you who truly has claim to the land. Now do you Arabs want peace or do you really want to argue about who has claim to the land?
