Erdogan has done the utmost of his country's very strategic position. Everybody, from Obama and Netanyahu to Medvedev, Sarkozy, Merkel and Ahmadinejad, need Turkey on their side and Erdogan knows it. He would have been long gone 15 years ago, but now, that is no longer possible. He imprisons military generals and others on a regular basis when he suspects them of some secretive activities, no one has freedom to speak up.
