1. A hunting rifle ?
Kenny Solomon ,   South Florida, USA   (12.24.11)
Puuuhhhhhh-lease......... A hunting rifle ? An instant glance at the grouping and almost complete lack of penetration says it's probably a .17 (or at best a .22) on full auto, but at half-power with frangible loads, or a shotty with a couple of garbage shells. Whatever it was though, looking at the result, thankfully the peace-loving MooseLimb Quranimal shooter couldn't target the barn side of a broad. One hit on the passenger window and the news report would have been quite different.
2. That was from a shotgun. And from close range.
David ,   Hartford USA   (12.24.11)
From the dispersal pattern of the shot, it was only the shooter's poor aim as to why the driver ascaped death. Look at what it did to the door- now think what that would have done to the driver's head... Israelis need to carry firearms. The police and army only show up AFTER the attack has happened. Israelis need protection DURING the attack.
3. Police suspect shooting was act of terror
Chaim ,   Arad   (12.24.11)
gee, ya think? What gave you the clue?
4. ACT OF TERROR ? YOU DON'T SAY

5. It's a shotgun
ES ,   Oregon USA   (12.24.11)
If it's 12 gauge - from no more than 15m
6. Definitely a shotgun
James ,   USA   (12.24.11)
It is hard to tell from the picture what is going on. If the holes are small and only look large because of paint chipping then the shooter used small shot, like a number 6 shot. If the holes are the same size as the shot then someone shot the door several times with something like 00 buckshot, all in the exact same spot. There are 9 pellets in 12 gauge load of buckshot.
7. #2. From the shotgun spread pattern...
SCB ,   USA   (12.24.11)
...this was done up close, probably by the group who has most to gain form "another shooting" incident… It looks to be two close range shotgun blasts inside the same pattern (on top of one another). How pathetic.
8. Maybe the shooter thought the white car was a deer?
D Rund ,   Jerusalem Israel   (12.24.11)
9. Maybe he thought it was a moose.

11. to number 10
alix ,   karnei shomron,   (12.24.11)
maale shomron is a half secular yishuv thats why there was driving on shabbat.
12. Why the concern? Why this article? It
Robert Haymond ,   Israel/Canada   (12.25.11)
was only another Arab threatening a Jew. It's not as if it were Jewish "terrorists" attacking Arabs (at least the way it's reported) where the police, border guards and IDF become downright concerned. No, the injury or even the loss of life to a Jew is really of little importance to our government as compared to the occasional threat to the Arab entity.
13. #2 Israeli Law
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (12.25.11)
According to the High Court, you can only shoot at someone who is at that moment threatening your life. If you shoot a terrorist who has already fired, that is illegal use of a weapon (if you miss) and murder (if you hit). The Jew had no choice but to run. If he had shot at the terrorist, he would be arrested, his gun be impounded for a year while the police investigated and at the end he would have been jailed. By the way. The impact looks like birdshot. The terrorist was probably hoping to cause the driver to crash. If the terrorist was shot or captured, his lawyer would say that birdshot is not lethal and the court would release him.
