31. Ron Paul is the only true American...
Chris.B ,   Australia   (12.28.11)
political patriot. He speaks the truth in a rational and intelligent way. To ask him a hypothectical question about an event that happened over 60 years ago is ridiculous and proves the desperation of his knockers. He want's what is best for America so he has become a target for character assassination. If he was kissing AIPACs ass he would be a hero.
32. lack of moral imperative
RC ,   USA   (12.28.11)
With leaders like this, no wonder evil is growing stronger by the day on this planet.
33. Ron Paul
(12.28.11)
Paul must be getting his talking points from Henry Kissinger.
34. Ron Paul is not the one who will replace Prez Obama in 2012.
Michael ,   California, USA   (12.28.11)
35. #14
SS ,   Australia   (12.28.11)
You must be an imbecile.. Einstein, Oppenheimer, & Hungarian Jews, instrumental in development of Atomic Bomb which saved millions of American lives.
36. Allies
Aidel ,   Australia   (12.28.11)
My late father (OBM) was in England when WW11 broke out. He was later in the British Army against the NAZI's. He told me that EVERYONE knew about the concentrations camps but they could not get the Allied governments to do anything about them. In later years when speaking to survivors of the camps, they ONLY mention the US and the Russian soldiers who liberated them. The British were complicit in the Shoah, if not in person then by inaction.
37. some talkbackers here are confused
(12.28.11)
Paul did not think the USA fought to save Jews. He was posed a hypothetical question: '' if you were president in WW2 would you have entered WW2 in order to save the Jews?'' He answered ''no''. His answer is not controversial because its the same answer given by all leaders at the time... each state entered WW2 when it felt its own interests were threatened. In America a real threat to US security was not obvious until Japan attacked it. People need to lose the Hollywood myth that America is big ''goodie'' out to save the world from baddies.
38. Many Jews wouldn't have saved the Jews in the Holocaust
Dan S. ,   USA   (12.28.11)
This is a little fact that has been written out of the traditional WWII account. The fact is that many American Jews whose families had taken great pains to be "American" and who carried some level of influence had no interest in seeing a mass in migration of more Eastern European Jews of the type that had arrived around the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century. They knew full well that the Jews had no more future in Europe and that the US would be the default destination for the millions, many of whom spoke Yiddish only and whose lifestyles and character were not in fitting with the American lifestyle these Jews were now accepted as part of (mostly). In short, they didn't want to be reminded of where they came from and Israel's creation as a subsequent refuge for the Jewish survivors of German persecution solved that problem. There are parallels today. How many American Jews really want their Israeli counterparts over here (I'm just being honest)? I love Israel, but lets face it, the loud, unrefined, and obstreperous behavior of most Israelis is something Americans wouldn't want to deal with on a regular basis. It is better to keep Israel strong.
39. Ron Paul and Muslim Money
Armand ,   Los Angeles, USA   (12.28.11)
It is no secret for some time now that Ron Paul supporters are the likes of the KKK and money from Muslim Americans ras well as Middle Eastern Muslim Countries. RON PAUL, YOU and the SCUM BAGS that support you better understand this ounce for all,.... JEWS and ISRAEL need nobody to ''DEFEND nor PROTECT'' them. Eat your HEART OUT! Humanity will never see again POGROMS or GENOCIDE against JEWS ANYWHERE! NEVER AGAIN with the MEANS to ENFORCE IT!
40. He had no problem spending 3 trillion to rebuild Germany
Dr. L. Brnd ,   San Diego, USA   (12.28.11)
Ron Paul has no problem with committing US dollars and lives to defend and sustain fellow white Anglo-saxon Protestants, or Arab oil states where Texas money is invested; its just when it comes to Jews, Israel, Africa or Hispanic nations that he gets feels the need to be a strict isolationist. Similarly, this old bastard saw no need to "disavow" his racist and anti-semitic newsletters of the last 25 years back when he thought it was good for his political career. Only now, when its difficult to explain to CNN, does he suddenly "disavow" his racist background, seeing that it hurts his chances to get the Republican nomination. Even with this phony "disavowal", Paul is careful to note that he is not disavowing his KKK, Aryan Nations and other racist supporters [always a big part of Texas dirtbag politics] - only what they wrote in his newsletters of the last decades, which he insists he never read and only learned of just last week. The problem with Ron Paul -always seen as an extremist here - is not his vintage hard-core bigotry, out of touch with America - but the fact that he is simply a liar, and a clumsy one at that. US has had double-talking Texans in the White House as President or Vice President for 28 of the last 50 years [Lyndon Johnson, Bush 1 and Bush 2 ], and they haven't exactly been the best loved or best respected of our Presidents - they were all disasters!. We need a change, there are 50 states, and we're not going to get it from Texas and its greasy politics, anyway. Certainly not in a 78 year old racist Libertarian slug. Republicans are smart enough to see that nominating Ron Paul would be a way of re-electing Obama.
41. Now you know
Bob ,   Boro park circa 1963   (12.28.11)
Now you know why most American Jews would never vote Republican. The Romney wing doesn't want us in their country clubs, the Paul wing doesn't want us at all, and the Christian wings loves us in the abstract but blames all the country's problems on us as individuals.
42. World War II was never fought to save Jews
Andrew Panken ,   Washington DC, USA   (12.28.11)
The aim of the US in World War II was never about saving Jews. It's well known that FDR was an anti-semite and that most Jews couldn't enter the US due to strict immigration policies.
43. not enough
courtney ,   usa   (12.28.11)
the us didnt go to europe to save jews to begin with so not much here. its known my country didnt bomb rail routes to camps because it was more efficient to focus on military targets.
44. Gen. George S. Patton-commander of U.S. 3rd Army
Shlomo Glickstein ,   UK   (12.28.11)
is a staunch anti-semitic.
45. To #14
zooog ,   US   (12.28.11)
It's estimated that one million American casualties would have resulted if we had to invade Japan in WW2. Guess who was mainly responsible for the atomic bomb that prevented those casualties? One of many things Jews have done for America.
46. #14 James, you're a pathetic joke
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (12.28.11)
Jews were instrumental in developing the U.S. Atomic bomb, which ended up convincing the Japanese to quit after Hiroshima & Nagasaki were nuked One question, where do you get your ignorance from?
47. Ron Paul is now a dead duck politcally
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (12.28.11)
48. Wasn't that official U.S. policy?
Steve   (12.28.11)
Dr. Paul is an anti-Semite in my opinion, but by this standard of measure so was Franklin Delano Roosevelt a confirmed anti-Semite, even though many Jews worship him to this day. FDR did not, nor was he willing to lift a finger to help Europe's Jews under murderous Nazi occupation. FDR did zilch to try to lift extreme anti-immigration quotas even for Jewish children. Elanor Roosevelt (who had her own issues with the Jews) pressed her husband about immigration of Jews from Germany but to no avail. FDR was pressed by Jewish leaders to bomb railroad tracks and bridges leading to Auschwitz - to bomb crematoria - but he refused as did his war-time advisers. They were not willing to "divert" military resources to help the beleaguered, starving, enslaved Jews. Roosevelt was utterly callous to Jewish suffering and Nazi genocide.
49. I apologize for his American citizenship, some people like
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (12.28.11)
him slip through the cracks just like hitler was a German and Mussolini was an Italian.
50. Ron Paul
Sylvia ,   Portland, USA   (12.28.11)
NOW who do I vote for???
51. Ron Paul
Natan   (12.28.11)
Does any one really give a damn about Ron Paul. His chances to be elected are the same as winning the loterry without buying a ticket.
52. #3, we were already in a war to save Europe.
Henry from New York ,   USA   (12.28.11)
There is no feasible way for the Allies to have avoided freeing the people (not just Jews) in the concentration camps.
53. #14, I sincerely hope you are joking or trolling.
Henry from New York ,   USA   (12.28.11)
First off, many Jews are in fact Jewish Americans (we hold US citizenship and have ancestors who were born here). Secondly, if you look up the numbers you will see that 36% of US Nobel Laureates in the past 100 years have either been fully Jewish or 3/4 or 1/2 Jewish. Also just look at the world of arts and technology you will see a great many Jewish names. Let's not forget Jewish doctors as well who each treat hundreds of people yearly (sometimes thousands). So, we've contributed a lot to this country. Sir, how can you live in the same state as me and hold such a view?
54. #3 Moral Imperative
anonymous ,   somewhere, usa   (12.28.11)
Just because American politicians chose not to save Armenians, Darfur, etc., doesn't mean they did the right thing. Of course we have a moral imperative to save people from genocide.
55. GOP should kick Ron Paul out
Brod ,   USA   (12.28.11)
The GOP should kick Ron Paul out. He is a liability to the Party and to America. He is a Nut with a NAZI mentality.
56. The difference roosevelt would not have said it this way
Su ,   Jerusalem   (12.28.11)
The fact that he says it this way with no problem- encourages all the anti-Semites to come out of the woodwork and rally behind him. Roosevelt didn't make public statements like this. But this guy has no problem. Why is saving Jewish lives low priority. Why not say the same for others whose lives were threatened with annihilation in Africa or Europe . Paul's public statements have a filthy stench . Dangerous man.
57. No state went to war to save Jews. That's why we need Israel
PETER SM ,   AUSTRALIA   (12.28.11)
Kissinger said it was not any business of the USA, if the Soviets gassed Jews.
58. 'I wouldn't send US troops to fight Nazis'
mat ,   uk   (12.28.11)
was he asked if he would have sent troops to iraq, afghanistan vietnam no jews there not an anti-Semite ?
59. #14 What did Jews do for America?
nibor ,   israel   (12.28.11)
A Jew, I think it was Chaim Solomon, financed half of the American Revolution. It's even in the history books in the classrooms when studying American history. That's what Jews did and probably continue to do in ways you don't see.
60. Who cares? Mr. Paul will always be inconsequential
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (12.28.11)
