31. #8 Modern Judaism Is Nothing More That Talmudic Pharisaism
World Citizen ,   the world   (01.02.12)
Therefore, the idea that backing the modern state of Israel is the same as loving G_d's chosen people is incorrect. Christ addresses the Pharisees in the 23rd Chapter of Matthew. Christian zionists should go back to the New Testament words of Christ and read them carefully. They need to understand that when they back the modern state of Israel they are in reality doing the work of the father of all lies.
32. Friends like them who need enemies
k ,   US   (01.02.12)
a shame Israel needs allies These are the people who for 2,000 years tried to enslave Jews and helped kill millions of Jews during WW2 most of Europe was more then happy to see the Holocaust take place and the Christians in the US fought very hard to prevent Jews from coming over and they were successful Yes it is a shame Israel needs these people as friends

Hahaha. In the past the mainstream Christianity leaders tried to keep the Holy Bible from being published so that the people could only count on them for guidance, and some of their leaders have even falsely taken the position of Mediator between man and God knowing full well that no man can replace the real Mediator. Now that the Holy Bible has been spread around the world, those who study it and ask God (YHWH) for guidance can see for themselves that God has a plan for humanity and that he has not forsaken the Jews. I recommend that you study the Holy Bible while you still can. Bless Israel.
34. #29 Arik, so whom will Jews marry in America?
Michael ,   California, USA   (01.02.12)
OK, let's not dwell on politics and international relations. Intermarriages are more than 50% of couples in America for Jews. Without Christians there will be no continuation for Jews in America, and in Russia, and ..., and ... LOL.
35. Take your allies where you find them
Cameron ,   USA   (01.02.12)
#17 & #23 are quite right; you do not have the luxury of indulging in historical and theological bad blood.
36. #17 - Michael!!
Kix ,   OKC, OK, USA   (01.02.12)
What a horrible thing to say. Christians are NOT supporting Israel so we can "be given profuse thanks". We are supporting Israel because that is what God has called on us to do. And we will continue to support Israel regardless of any thanks we get or don't get and regardless of the repercussions.

NO one could be more wrong about history and the situation today. First off, it was Catholics, not Evangelicals that targeted the Jewish people for most of that era. Evangelicals also came under attack from the Catholic church. Second, during WWII most of Europe heard rumors about what was being done to the Jews, but couldn't believe such inhumanity could be true. Were they blind and ignorant? [yes] Were they evil? [no]. Finally, again it was the Catholics on the East Coast that fought the idea of Jews coming to the US, NOT Evangelicals who welcomed them even before WWII.

Kix ,   OKC, OK, USA   (01.02.12)
I've not only studied the New Testament teachings of Jesus Christ, but for years have also taught classes on them. You are very confused, if not lying. Sorry.. but Christians are in fact called to support the modern State of Israel, because it's from there that all prophecy began and will continue until the end.
39. NO eschatology! Secular/traditional BIG ISRAEL (JEWISH HOME)
Jerry ,   The Netherlands   (01.02.12)
40. No, we don't need them
Moshe ,   New York, USA   (01.02.12)
The verse of "I will bless those who bless you" doesn't mean that we go around begging for them to bless us. If they want to help us, let it be on our terms, not theirs. They're buying an incredible amount of influence, the morasha kehilas yakov is up for sale.
41. @ 31
RC ,   USA   (01.02.12)
Was not Paul harassing and persecuting the Christians until he saw the Light and his eyes were opened. The Holy Bible explains why most Jews cannot accept Christianity. If you study the Holy Bible and pray to YHWH for guidance and pray that the veil be lifted from your eyes you will probably also be able to see. Romans chapter 11 explains it well, but not all have been given the wisdom to understand. Even if you cannot understand, would you prefer that the Muslims take over Israel?
42. evangelical and zionist christians
joe ,   israel   (01.02.12)
are much bigger threat to israel than ordinary christians. Ordinary christians are indifferent to Israel and to Jews because after Jesus, Jews are no longer any more special than anybody else on the planet. But evangelical and zionist Christian have a hybrid religion based as much on the Tanach as the New Testament. If Jews are wary of Messianic Jews they should be twice as wary of Zionist and evangelical christians. These people want to muscle in and take over Israel and they are obsessed with Jews. Ordinary Christians seldom talk about Israel or Jews.

solomon ,   bklyn   (01.02.12)
Your heart may be in the right place but how you get there is wrong. Look up the definitions of Jew and Christian. The red line is a belief or non belief in Jesus.
44. #19 arn; re #12 - I agree with may posts
solomon ,   bklyn   (01.02.12)
Although Jews were invaluable in helping to stop the nazis, the Christian world stopped them. This includes most of Europe and Russia. Any thoughts about the Jews doing it alone...the Warsaw Ghetto uprising was heroic, but tragically the war continued. If we Jews want our assistance (ie Israel's) to be accepted by the rest of the world then we should ackowledge the world's help as well. HaShem helps a moving vessel. We will not get help by sitting on our hands. And part of helping ourselves is accepting the help HaShem sends; and who is to say that that help cannot be in the form of Christians?
45. #15 graczek - LOL !

46. Ron Paul said similar
shaun green ,   pasadena usa   (01.02.12)
in his book Revolution, he said to those who do not like the fact he would cut aid to Israel (and all other foreign nations) that if you really loved Israel you would want them to be self sufficient and not depend on the whims of Washington. Must remember most of your support in the west comes from conservative (Puritan) Protestant Christians. Good relations with Christians is going to have to be key to foreign policy.
47. Michael and people like him
shaun green ,   pasadena usa   (01.02.12)
Are trying to bless Israel, as they feel led by the G-d of Abraham Isaac and Jacob to do so. Why would you hate people bearing such a beautiful gift for such noble reason? They literally come to bless us in the name of our mutual Lord. We should thank G-d for it.
48. #20
Logic ,   Israel   (01.02.12)
My response is not an accusation of today's Anglo countries but a fact of the past. And in any case, it is more of a criticism of the indifferent leadership of those countries at the time. Today thankfully relations are good. In any case, "what jewish army stopped the nazis" is a foolish statement, since Jews did enlist en mass and UK and Palestinian Arab interests did everything possible to prevent the formation of that very army.
49. Can Israelis be picky about who their friends are?
esnuffnstl ,   USA   (01.02.12)
No, no they can't. Not if you want to keep your homeland this time--and if you lose it, you won't get it back (even after another two thousand years.) The US will do just fine without Israel. Without Christian Americans, Israel will be overrun (and the world will go on fine without you.) Your choice.
50. Converts To Judaism Are NOT Missionaries
Ariel Ben Yochanan ,   Kfar Tapuah, Efraim   (01.02.12)
B"H Jethro was a convert. Evangelists are missionaries. The same? No eh?!
51. Say what you want about Christians...
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (01.02.12)
many times Jews are their own worst enemies.
52. Shlomo HaMelekh's politics
Tyler ,   Canada   (01.02.12)
A wise man once said something about how only fools isolate their friends. The fact that many Jewish Israelis (many of whom aren't religious themselves) can't see past the label "Christian" when it comes to friendships is tragic.

Here is the thing though, I was not born or alive during WW2, nor were 90% of surviving Americans. I can not say for certain that it would be any different today or whether we would still do the deplorable thing and stand by why millions of Jews gets slaughtered. I do know that most within evangelical churches will continue to support Jews and Israel. What concerns me though, is that America as a whole is becoming more anti-Christian every day. Our media, news, laws, and courts are slowly taking everything that has to do with Christ and making it a pariah. I will and always will continue to support Israel. I am not an evangelical Christian, I am a person who believes that Christ was a Jew who kept the law, participated in the feasts, and did not sin, and as such, I am doing the best that I can do to do the same. I will always sin and make mistakes. But I will always support Israel.
54. Then we better stop praising New Gingrich
Devorah   (01.03.12)
because he is a Christian.
55. A foolish rant by Meotti
Greg ,   Australia   (01.03.12)
Given the comparatively small number of Jews in the world, zealot authors who seek to cast off firm allies would seem incredibly foolhardy. Your Theology is getting in the way of your Math. Jews 13 million Muslims 1600 Million Christians 2300 Million Now, what do you really think would happen if the Jews were to abandon the close support of Christianity ?

Google and find out how many Jews fought the Nazis on the Russian side. You will get a shock.

We are not interested in the "New Testament" nonsense on this site-it is Jewish.Read the Tanakh for the real truth.
58. As a Christian I support Israel unconditionally
John   (01.03.12)
with prayer and finance. Some Jews hate me for that, some are grateful, some don't care, and most don't know about it; but l continue to pray and pay anyway.
59. Baptism for the dead
raywadsworth ,   Sequim, WA USA   (01.03.12)
There is only one reference in the new testament to Baptism for the dead (1 Cor 15:29) but the Church of Jesus Christ of LDS performs baptisms for relatives In temples, because of the belief that Baptism is a "saving ordnance" that needs to be done on earth on behalf of those who have passed on without the ordnance. The church is very careful to make sure family history of church members is done correctly and accurate before names can be submitted to a temple for the ordnance to be performed by proxy. The church is very cautious so as not offend non- Christians in any way. not to say it couldn't happen on accident. for more information of family history, or the doctrinal issue of this practice, go to LDS.org.
