1. DESPICABLE!!!
(01.02.12)
I'm speechless. Jews disrespecting the memory of Shoah using innocent children. It's really beneath contempt. G-d will punish them. Something should be done immediately, because aside from being insane, they seem dangerous too. The Haredim resemble radical muslims so much.
2. Can't stand these people
Michael ,   West Jerusalem/NY   (01.02.12)
Did hitler give benefits to Jews? You did this to your self, move to jordan or Iran where you belong.
3. Dumbest thing I've ever read. . .
John ,   USA   (01.02.12)
Seriously??? Try living under Palestinian rule and when you are butchered you will see what it is like to live under Nazi oppression. The ultra-orthodox lifestyle in Israel is literally as good as it gets. They don't have to serve in the army, leech off society through welfare programs, and harass other Israelis and Jews. . . . and they are the ones being "persecuted"???
4. 'Treatment of haredim – like Nuerenberg Laws'
Jonathan ,   MN/US   (01.02.12)
BULLSHIT! IF YOU CALL NOT BEING ALLOWED TO SPIT ON PEOPLE RACIST YOU GOT A FUNNY DEFINITON OF RACISIM BUB!
5. Like Nazi Germany?
Neal ,   Minneapolis USA   (01.02.12)
If I hadn't read this report in a respectable news publication, I would have believed it was someone's very distasteful idea of a joke. "Moshe compared the Israeli society's treatment of the haredim to "persecution similar to the Nuerenberg Laws." If the man believes that what he's saying has any connection to reality, he has proven the need for haredim to receive general education or for himself to seek counseling.
6. Assault is an assualt
Anshel ,   Toronto, Canada   (01.02.12)
Anyone who assaults another person without a reason, whether physically or verbally, is committing an offense. The law is equal for everybody, even for members of Eda Haredit. There is nowhere in Torah or Talmud the it is permitted to utter a vulgar slur in an public place. When these bozos from Eda Haredit will realize that it was an act unbecoming of a Jew, especially aimed toward a young female soldier, who with thousands of others are ready to defend Israel against the enemies, so Nuremberg racial laws against the Jews are never again enacted, while Moshe and his cohorts have chosen not to serve in IDF. Shame on them to criticize other fellow Israeli Jews, the vast majority, who choose not to live according Eda Haredit standard. All I know that the moderate Orthodox rabbis in Toronto reject and disagree with the behaviour of few who are wearing uniform of the ultra-orthodox and remind us the damage done by the zealots to Judaism two thousand years ago, which eventually lead to destruction of the Second Temple and wondering of Jews for two thousand years. Therefore, this is not an issue between the haredis and secular, but an issue between all rational Jews and misguided zealots.
7. Harediim
Arie ,   NY, USA   (01.02.12)
These "people" are pathetic and should be scorned ... They and their false god. Send them back to Poland .
8. Neturei Karta does not speak for Hareidim
Besalel ,   Great Neck, NY   (01.02.12)
Hareidim have long ago distanced themselves from the lunatics at Neturei Karta. Hareidim would like to see NK be wiped out completely.
9. This guy is a lunatic............
Bill Pearlman ,   wpearlman@aol.com   (01.02.12)
And these guys like healthy enough for the army and work. Maybe they wouldn't have the energy to dump on 8 year old girls. And BTW. The kid in the Warsaw ghetto, 1943. Unless a miracle happened. He didn't live to see 1944
10. Our failure of expression...
David ,   Shiloh Israel   (01.02.12)
It's really sad how much of Israeli society sees itself subject to discrimination. However, there is an element of self infliction in this ongoing drama. If one choses to use provocotive language against others, then expect the same in return. So as a simple Jew who progressed through non religious ranks, veered left & right, before happily finding a home in Israel let me offer the following: 'Find a more simpler and acceptable way of expression!' If you want to have a go at me for living in what I consider my ancestral homeland, fine..go ahead. But the moment you or anyone else starts using violent language...you're as bad as the target of your imagined target. This goes for all...secular, dati, settlers, haredim, gay peacocks, self righteous scholars, etc. Go on try it...it's called rationale behaviour, and demonstrates a human mind at work. It's time that us Jews begin to show a little more respect to each other...all the way round. I'm aiming these words at anyone who thinks...period! Israel needs to attend one big 'anger management' course...and the media should be sitting at the back of the class.
11. When Haredim are referred to as "vermin" "swine" and "evil":
(01.02.12)
as an entire group....well...would it be okay if the namecallers themselves weren't Jews as well? Why is it okay, even among those Jews who consider themselves to be Democratic, "tolerant" & "Pluralistic" to call Haredi Jews by these denegrating names and by stereotyping them ALL as stone-throwing, spitting hysterics trying to impose their way upon all -- when it is a minority few?-- just because the media hypes it up and makes it seem to be some rampant Haredi epidemic (when there is no news -- create news)? The rest of the world sees the behavior of one Jew in the Media - whether Haredi OR Secular- and UNFAIRLY proclaim: "You see the way all those Jewwwwws are?" For every white collar secular Jewish embezzler and/or for every spitting-on-children "Haredi" fanatic -- the rest of the world reads it and does not differentiate between the two. They are both "THOSE JEWS". It is even more bemusing to them when they see Jews calling their fellow Jews "parasites" "vermin" "swine" "evil" in the public domain and confirms their perceptions ("they even call themselves those things!"). Hitler did not differentiate the Jewish Philosophy professor from the Hasidic shtetl Jew. They were all deemed sub-human. Those who managed to crawl out of the death pits and survive to live in our own Jewish country...now have the luxury to hate each other.
12. Get the hell out
Adam ,   Israel   (01.02.12)
of my country you bunch of ungrateful leeches. Get a job and start contributing to this country and then we can talk about who's getting persecuted. I put my life on the line for you ingrates and rascists everyday so you can have the gall to say this is like nazi germany? Shame on you- you are so far from god and the real world you are blind to the pure evil staring back at you from the mirror. You disrespect me, you fellow jews, this country, and most importantly the survivors and victims of the holocaust who actually suffered through persecution instead of enacting it themselves.
13. In Israel the Sikirim spit on Women
(01.02.12)
In the Galut real Nazis and sympathizers spit on the Haredim. That's the difference. Clearly Moshe never really learned proper facts about the Nuremberg laws and does not know what it is like to exist in the Warsaw Ghetto or the third Reich , or outside Israel now or then. Sadly Moshe shows a severe lack of education and general knowledge. Maybe he would prefer a re-enactment of the Nuremberg laws in Israel where he too would be excluded from public transport and forced to clean the streets on his hands and knees.
14. looney tunes
eddie ,   london UK   (01.02.12)
This is a lunatic fringe, who are divorced from reality, and have no knowledge of the Torah. They are followers of the Satmar rebbe, who himself was guilty of murdering his own own followers. They are supporters of Hamas, and Ahmadinejad. They learned propaganda from the PLO and Hamas, They had a leader who was Arafat's minister for Jewish affairs - pretty much like the kapos. No weight should be given to their perverse ideology.
15.  to #14 You should get your facts straight.
Susan ,   Kfar saba   (01.02.12)
The Netura Karta are hated by all haredi groups, including the Satmars ever since they went to Achmenanutjob's "Holocaust conference" in Teheran a few years ago. They are in harem. No one will have anything to do with them. They are totally shunned in Monsey. Can you give a link where you get your info from because it was my understanding that the Satmars lost a lot of people in the Holocaust?
16. all I know
JewishHeart ,   Israel   (01.02.12)
All I know is that I am biased against Haredim because they don't work, pay taxes, and serve in the army. Spitting on girls, calling soldiers names, and telling that lady to move to the back of the bus was done by radicals. However, the leeches who eat off our plates is EVERYONE!!!!!!!! They need to get a job and restore all the money they stole from hard-working individuals who pay their room and board.
17. How would a shephered retrieve lost sheep?
Tambour ,   Eilat   (01.02.12)
These haredi are little different from sheep. It is therefore useless to talk at them. Their leaders need education into the more rationalist Judaism of the Talmud and the Gaonim, in the hope of bringing them back to the Fold.
18. Bemused as Hell with this haredim episode
Cameron ,   USA   (01.02.12)
They are a special crew.
19. Who paid for these uniforms?
Jerry ,   USA   (01.02.12)
The Hareidi community is poor. To organize such an event takes money. Who paid? Who made contributions? Follow the money to determine how this travesty came to be.
20. Draft them.
Max Merbaum ,   Los Angeles   (01.02.12)
Let's draft them. They could do dishes. Put anti-fungal cream on soldier's boots. Sweep the asphalt. Plenty of redundant, pointless tasks for a redundant, pointless people.
21. Imagine how the Palestinians feel
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (01.02.12)
...when Jew hates Jew, and together they hate Palestinians.
22. It must be inbreeding
David Sher ,   New York   (01.02.12)
Its unbelievable how morally bankrupt these people are that they can compare a state that subsidizes their entire life style with the Nazi's. They don't know what being Jewish means and yet they presume to tell others how to live.
23. Stop giving money to their so called "children starving" NGO
mea   (01.02.12)
These people are the pens who advertise all over the two main media sites visited by christians obsessed with Israel. They are the pop up ads featuring baby tears. Let me tell you something, the words of this creep are truly what he believes, that all secular Jews and ALL Christians are garbage. Believe it. They take advantage of the hysterial obsession fade f evangelicals for Israel and they know darn well you are sucking up media sites living vicarious fanatsies about "helping the Jews". Suckers!
24. Photo
The Bald Scotsman ,   Medford   (01.02.12)
While the whole thing disgusts me, I once saw an interview where someone claiming to have been the child in the photo acutally survived the holocaust and moved to Canada. I woul love to know if that was true.
25. simply sickening
yaacovic   (01.02.12)
26. Moshe
(01.02.12)
Moshe is right. The haradim in Israel are hated because they are different, because they refuse to assimilate into the wider society, and because they think they are better than everyone else. The hatred they suffer is no different from the animosity suffered by Jews outside Israel.
27. @Adam #12
Evan G ,   Kent, OH   (01.02.12)
You've got it absolutely right. These people bring shame not only to Israel and to the Jews, but to the memories of those who were lost in the Shoah. Religious and secular Jews alike were killed in Nazi Germany along with non-Jews. To use "goyim" as an epithet, treat women as a lesser species, or act as though they are being persecuted by the very country that serves them (although they refuse to serve or recognize it) is deplorable and absurd. This is despicable and very un-Jewish behavior.
28. Anger in the Haredi community
J. E. F. ,   USA   (01.02.12)
Even though I am not Jewish, I have spent some time substitute teaching in a Jewish day school run by Chabad. On a positive note, the kids knew I wasn't Jewish, but they accepted me as their teacher and treated me very well. On the other hand, I sensed a great deal of anger from the boys. It cut across age groups and I found it in nine-year-olds and fourteen-year-olds. It wasn't directed at me. It was a general phenomenon. Not every kid was angry, but many were. I wondered about the reason. Did large families mean that they received inadequate parenting? Did they resent the regimentation of their lives? Did they realize that they had less freedom than other kids? Could someone shed some light on this issue for me? Thanks.
29. Racist Jews
(01.02.12)
Wow, sounds like the Haredim are racist against non-Jews.
30. Lets calm down
muti ,   Mew York U.S.A   (01.02.12)
am an hareidi jew here in new york that contributes to society with a very successful business,so I would caution everybody not to generalize all the thousands of hereidim in Israel and in America that contribute to society and in particular their great contribution to the Jewish community,I would hope u guys would resort all ur hateful comments to the Palestinians that stabbed 3 children and their parents in itamar rather then directing ur hateful comments at the hareidim.
