rebecca ,   Modiin   (01.04.12)
3. Media bias
Guy ,   Tel Aviv   (01.04.12)
This is just another one of the media's plots to "feed the machine"
4. This is secular tolerance for you
American Sabrah ,   Israel   (01.04.12)
Just a couple articles ago, we were complaining about the intolerance and violence being perpetrated by the Haredim against non haredim. Talk about double standard hypocrisy......
5. Suprise Supirse
Shimon   (01.04.12)
The secularist love to talk and propagate about how they have the moral high ground above the rest of us, yet time and gain they have continued to act diabolically and cry wolf. The secularist are far more dangerous than any other group or sect. They're a disgrace.
6. Sue till they fold.
ben Avraham ,   Tel Aviv   (01.04.12)
7. Discrimination
Spencer ,   Israel   (01.04.12)
Boycott the night club.
8. Is this 2012
Joe ,   London, UK   (01.04.12)
If this has happened, it is a disgrace. To happen at all. To happen in Israel. To happen anywhere! Bad enough that this has happened in countries like Switzerland in the past and other places, but this was many years ago and was tolerated in 'those days'. But..to happen today and on our own doorstep? This is just pure disgraceful.
9. Well lets face it you reap what you sow
Gadi ,   Haifa   (01.04.12)
Well lets face it, they proberbly thought he would make trouble, which is understandable if you look at the trouble the religious have caused lately, so they were right to refuse the man in question.
10. Wait for the investigation
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (01.04.12)
The nightclub says it never happened. Who knows, maybe the guard is a Leftist who decided to "take revenge" on any Jew who entered the nightclub. Worse is an almost unreported incident that happened on Monday. 10 year old Bluma Shpitzer was attacked by a Leftist while riding on a bus. The attack including spitting. The little girl had no choice but to get off the bus to flee her attacker.
11. sad normality in Tel Aviv
DYP ,   Raanana Israel   (01.04.12)
simply said, disgusting, as the city in such. It's said to see that one feels less Jewish in TA as overseas.
12. As a religious man I agree
Ephraim   (01.04.12)
A kippa wearing Jew has no business going to nightclubs
13. Scandalous !
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (01.04.12)
The only way to "handle this problem" is to DISMISS those responsible , and to publish apologies in some daily papers . Also to send a personal handwritten letter to this soldier , with excuses .
14. Competing for disgrace
Michael Durbin ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (01.04.12)
So which are worse? Those elements of the Haredi community (which is clearly NOT monolithic in any view) who have no respect for the State, or the leftists, who seem rather more consistent in having no respect for the State. The left "wins," which brings to mind the saying: "a liberal is someone who demands free speech, as long as you agree with him."
15. @rebecca this was all over the HEBREW language radio 2day...
Esti ,   Israel   (01.04.12)
I suppose that your comment means: 1. You don't listen to radio 2. You don't speak Hebrew & so you don't really know what's going on in the country! 3. You enjoy bathering on for no reason other than to be contrary! Which ever it is, please take the time to learn all of the facts before going on as you do. Have a lovely day
16. ignorance at the disco
miri ,   florida usa   (01.04.12)
i always mistakenly believed that Israel was the one place in the entire world where a man couls walk about freely in his kippa. what a disgrace . sue them.
17. non tolerant nightclub.
miri ,   florida usa   (01.04.12)
@#3 huh?????
18. Boycott the club
Moshe ,   Jerusalem   (01.04.12)
On our own doorstep we have Natzis. I believe the soldier and not the club owner, sue them and close them down.
19. Rottenloser a question
rolf ,   ge   (01.04.12)
Could the night club be !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ?
20. The club has a right to their own dress code
Valter ,   Brazil   (01.04.12)
On the same grounds, in my club people would be barred if they wore any clothes at all! Let us all say the Kaddish for the death of common sense.
21. IDF soldier been refused entry
JUDAH THE LION   (01.04.12)
The local council should give the club warning not to do it again, and to give the IDF compensation
22. A Club is a Private Business, not a Public Park
Guy Cohen ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (01.04.12)
If the club owners say they don't want people under 21 coming in, that is their right. If the club owners don't want people to smoke, that is their right. Similarly, if there is a dress code that excludes t-shirts or kippahs, and if you don't like it, then go take a hike somewhere else.
23. If a club this this in the U.S.it would be discrimination
Rod ,   Fargo N.Dakota   (01.04.12)
If a club in the U.S did this to a Black ,Jew or anyone else .Charges of discrimination would brought as well as a boycott by many patrons. Would they keep out an Arab or a migrat from Africa? A million Euro and U.S. supported NGO's would have lawsuits and protests outside the club.I hope the footage can be made public
24. If Haredi can discriminate. . .
Stuart Wilder ,   Doylestown, USA   (01.04.12)
Netanyahu tolerates Haredi discrimination against women, little girls, Arabs and Jews they do not deem Jewish enough, so why can't a nightclub say it does not want someone with a kippah? Israel needs to confront all bigotry, not just that against practicing Jews.
25. LET'S ALL CALM DOWN... this was obviously a mistake
Rafi ,   US   (01.04.12)
and there must have been a miscommunication somewhere along the line. Meanwhile, the soldier is certainly entitled to sue. Other than that... G'marnu!
26. Holiness in question
ChayA ,   ras al.ayn   (01.04.12)
that guy didnt check that the kippa was doing its job for him. ni matter hiw discriminative their policy has been if viewed accroding to democratic rules, if you look under the surface and go deeper, then these non religious personnell realised that you cannot combine nightclubs and holiness whuch a kipoa promotes.. and by the way , think of what kind of people go ti a club which forbids kipa.
27. that is, until the final judgment
Bad Assed Jew ,   US   (01.04.12)
the court has the last word.... Speaking of dress codes, many years ago, Esther Williams, and her friends were denied entry to the LA Golf and Country Club by the Mater d' because they wear wearing pant suits. She was not content as they were paid guests, he an employee and she sued and won. So, don't be swift to judgment, dress codes, sings or policies denying human rights, are not the club owners alone, he must follow the law.
28. #22, Guy
Dan ,   New Zealand   (01.04.12)
Private or not, the club has to obey the law of the land. If club owner does not like it he can take a hike somewhere else.
29. Hope he sues!
Rachel ,   US   (01.04.12)
30. #22 Smoking and Tolerance
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (01.04.12)
Smoking is forbidden by law in clubs. However, like most, they flout this law and many others and as usual, there is no enforcement. This incident is a disgrace but no more than the incident reported by Israel Radio 2 yesterday about the blind man denied entry to a restaurant with his guide dog! Those who are yelling about secular intolerance are only looking for an excuse to justify the behavior of thr Haredim and should realize that the secular reaction today is a result of religious coercion over 63 years! By the way, what about clubs which deny entry to some Israelis because of the color or shade of their skin or people in Kiriyat Malachi who refuse to sell apartments to Ethiopians?
