31. To nr 1 - Yes take a look at yourself in the mirror..
Alexander ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (01.06.12)
...and make the mature decision of leaving Israel instead of polluting the air in Israel with your incessant masochist self hatred and derision of Israel and the Jewish people. I've read many of your talkbacks and frankly I think you belong in Gaza or Iran. Happy journey.
32. plan to counter a new generation of anti-Israeli attitudes ,
split ,   US   (01.06.12)
Crap ! You can have a concrete plan implemented by the World's most renovated PR agencies but still it's your attitude and actions, stupid ,... By the way you can't be taken seriously pretending to be a democracy and keep calling your self a "jewish state" in today's world.
33. A Rational Voice, Even if People Don't Want to Hear What is
sjr ,   philadelphia pa   (01.06.12)
This is spot on--and needs to be said over and over again. It is too easy to disagree and come up with reasons to ignore this. This speaks to a very keen reality that MUST be addressed.
34. #30 Mark Ruth Dyan Really????
Joe Sombrero ,   USA   (01.06.12)
The wife of Moshe Dyan the man who almost destroyed Israel in 73 and probably sold out Israel to the US? You have to be kidding me? When you said that you lost your credibility.
35. @split at todays world?
Daniel Teeboom ,   Daniel565@chello.nl   (01.06.12)
Tell me, did humanity change somehow? How is the world different? Oh you mean you can have Muslim states calling themselves democratic, Christian states who do, as well as communist countries but you can't have a Jewish state calling itself democratic. Right.... got ya. I don't see no change.
36. US Jewish liberals
avi ,   nyc   (01.06.12)
Israel is foolish if it thinks it can count on American Jewish liberals. During the Shoah they were deafeningly silent and were more interested in dancing the hora to FDR than demanding he save Jews. today they are more interested in unfettered abortion than Israel, and since they are intermarrying out of existence , they will become an embarrassment to the gentile community.
37. Ed #11 good example of what I said
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (01.06.12)
J Street is REJECTED by a vast majority of American Jews and represents nobody at all. You are a liar and invented these claims. Pure and simple truth.
38. @18. Good sentiments wrong facts
Joe ,   St Louis USA   (01.06.12)
Israel is not occupying anyone else's land. The West Bank was part of Israel in 1948. Did you know that? Jordan took it by force in 1949, then tried to use it to destroy Israel in 1967. Israel took it back in defense, and in 1988 Jordan revoked the citizenship of all of its Palestinian citizens who were living there. I'm for a Palestinian state, but let's not pretend we're giving anything BACK. We're merely giving something UP. Arab Israelis have full equal rights under Israeli law, 2 political parties, 11 members of parliament, 1 cabinet level minister, and many university students and professional graduates. Nowhere in the Arab world do minorities enjoy equal rights under law like this. Israel is a Jewish state with a secular government. Religious extremists who try to break the law end up in jail. We even saw examples this month. Secular people of all faiths continue free to live as they wish.
39. @18, @38 almost forgot...
joe ,   st louis USA   (01.06.12)
Israel also has an Arab Supreme Court Justice. (...in addition to the aforementioned Arab political parties (2), members of parliament (11), cabinet level minister, and many university students and professional graduates.)
40. society is turning me off
courtney ,   usa   (01.06.12)
i love israel, but the haredi issues and the settlers are killing it for me...
41. Israel and the US public
Harold ,   USA   (01.06.12)
The US public is fed up of Israel's actions in the Middle East. Breaking the International Laws every day and then act as the victims. US taxpayers are also fed up paying welfare to Israel while building ilegal settlements every day on occupied Palestinian lands. Enough is enough.
42. #5
(01.06.12)
The Republican candidates' names included in you comment are bribees getting money from AIPAC and need to have the Jewish votes and MONEY. All are not suitable to lead America when they pockets are loaded with AIPAC donations and directions. President Obama will defeeat all and be re-elected as one of the best President of the United States of America. Those who hate the re-election of Obama are many who are against peace including Netanyahu.
43. #36, to be fair. I'm not sure American Jews had much power
Henry from New York ,   USA   (01.06.12)
at that time. By the way, you're not the very nice orthodox Avi that works at MetLife I have heard so much about, are you? (it's a long shot, but there's always a chance) :p
44. #6 - it was State land, not private
William ,   Israel   (01.06.12)
ergo, re-purposing was perfectly legal under Intl Law, and 1920 San Remo. It was the Apartheid-based racist attacks on Jews by Arabs since 1920 which were illegal. Still are. The 1948 Arab genocidal war on Jews is also illegal, a major war crime.
45. #13 - that's a definition of a redneck??
William ,   Israel   (01.06.12)
I've never heard that description of a redneck before. I can see how you'd refer to rednecks in a disparaging way because most self-righteous liberals offer only general statements against groups they dislike because...how did you phrase it..."always convinced that their way is the right way"? You must be a redneck because I haven't met one liberal who didn't think their perspective was the only one in the world. No surprise they're being sidelined in some many countries around the world.
46. #12 - it's not even proven they are illegal under Intl law
William ,   Israel   (01.06.12)
The BBC is using an un-litigated argument using Article 49 of the Geneva Convention as their basis. However, upon actually investigation it appears that Article 49 is not violated by the Israelis, but by the Arabs. It both states that land cannot be won by war (however, liberals and Arabs claims the land is their's because they stole it in a war in 1948), and that a foreign population cannot be emigrated into the land by the victor (even though Jordan forced many Arabs into the land after the 1949 annexation, and Jews coming in 1967 were returning after being ethnically cleansed). The ICJ made an advisory ruling but not a litigated one which makes their opinion non-binding. Liberals and Arabs see this as proof enough for their accusations. However, when courts did litigate on other accusations against Israel, like war crimes claims, they were either thrown out or ruled in israel's favor, as the UN did re: Gaza blockade and IHH provocation, liberals and Arabs decried the results, claimed the courts were ruled by the Zionist lobby, or just ignored the binding rulings.
47. American Jewry and goyim Americans
Tom ,   USA   (01.06.12)
American Leftist Jewry is considered by many non-Jewish Americans as the Soros and Co. financed, Obamao supporting Marxist group. The N.Y. Times orchestrated daily attack on Israel is organized by the Leftist elite of Obamao's who owns the media, Hollywood and the academia and they are not regarded in positive light, except for the radical Left fringes. American Leftist Jews now engaged in a two front war which portends ominous future for them: They do hate Israel and inciting against but they hate traditional America as well and want to transform her to a Marxist Utopian, Liberal, Universalistic never-land. Haven't you noticed the open, not so veiled hostile outburst against "Bankers" "Neocons" "Soros paid" "Zionist" ...all code names for Jews. Israel has nothing to do with American Jewry apart from loose emotional/religious nostalgia. Israelis are Eurasians, having different roots, culture, language ethnic affiliation etc. American Jewry is like Chinatown to mainland China -- only with more influence and money.
48. Must delegitimize the racist arabs NOW!
Don Rosenberg ,   Palatine USA   (01.06.12)
Time for all Jewish organizations to tell the truth on the fake ,invented arabs that Gringrich so accurately announced. The arabs are the liars and racists, and it is time to take the gloves off and not be PC, and tell the world the arabs occupying Israeli land deserve nothing, absolutely nothing, and we Jews have nothing to apologize for. The Big LIe worked in WW2 and we can't let the racist ,muslim, arab animals win. Attack and destroy the liars.
49. #41, please don't say the US public when you mean yourself.
Henry from New York ,   USA   (01.06.12)
Polls have shown that most Americans support Israel. We don't pay them welfare. We give them loans as well as investments on which we get a nice return (tech and security); or would it be better to not have a stronghold in the Middle East?
50. The American Jew today is a nobody. He is getting
Al   (01.06.12)
old poor and in dire need of a makeover. He cant decide if he is coming or going. Wants to be everything to anyone save himself. He will throw the biggest Christmas party for his employees but will be silent as to Shavuot. He doesn't even know what it is all about. The American Jew is like an old milk cow waiting for that last drop of milk to leave her teat. The American Jew is finished.
51. American Support
Sam ,   Boston   (01.06.12)
American Jews younger than 40 have a mostly blase attitude towards Israel. There are exceptions but that's the norm.
52. 35 - can't have a Jewish state calling itself democratic.
split ,   US   (01.06.12)
Stop righ there !!! ,... Show me one country that demands to be known and recognised as a Muslim or Christian STATE and pretend to be democratic ,...
53. @52: how about turkey?
Joe ,   St Louis USA   (01.06.12)
And oh yea: Israel has 2 Arab political parties, 11 Arab members of parliament, one Arab cabinet minister, one Arab supreme court justice, and of course the 1.6 million Arab citizens who VOTED to make all that possible in Israel's...DEMOCRATIC elections. Show me one Arab country with Jewish members of government. It doesn't exist. Israel is a Jewish democracy. Sorry you don't like it. Truth hurts.
54. #52. split: Start with the Islamic republic of...
Tom ,   USA   (01.07.12)
You're getting more and more mentally challenged.. The Islamic republic of Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran (your home) , Mauritania. Also Amerika (sic) is NOT a democracy but "Constitutional Republic". You see the pesky Jews teaching you geography in the light of you ignorance. Are from Chicago South side like the Kenyan?
55. Israel isn't even fighting.
Chaim ,   Israel   (01.07.12)
Countless international law experts have incontrovertibly proven Judea and Samaria legally belong to Israel. What does Israel do with this potentially invaluable proof? Absolutely nothing. It would cost Israel virtually nothing to serve the proof on the U.N., all national governments, NGOs, world media etc. We could prove, to the satisfaction of every open minded person that we are correct and "Palestinian" poseurs are wrong. Yet incredibly, Israel's government refuses to do so. Israel isn't even fighting.
56. 53 - Show me one Arab country ,...
(01.07.12)
Arab or Muslim ? ,... Just asking, knowing that your so called democracy won't accept any other faith member as a citizen by birth in Israel or marriage without conversion. Just to be able to get married in Israel you have to convert and even if do you're still a second class citizen among Israelis and a piece of a crap among orthodox Jews ,...
57. 54 - One more time, pinhead ,...
split ,   US   (01.07.12)
A Republic it's a definition of a State political system that despite of the dominating party/religion still have a place to welcome and accommodate others. Jewish State says "Jewish State" just like the sign on the door in the Jim Crow Era ,... http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-aH_tWO2QJO8/TmkGkxPKqXI/AAAAAAAAAq0/2OLyxSp_qxo/s1600/No+Jews+Ferris+State+University%2527s+Museum.jpg BTW, despite that I'm getting more and more mentally challenged I still remember that I live in an America not in Amerika ,...
58. We have our problems but..
mirjam Bruck-Cohen ,   Israel   (01.07.12)
Yes we have many problems that we try to face , some in a better manner some not in such a good manner ,, but your demand is not that we solve our problems ,,,, you write that we shold elect a government that ......reflects American values Jewish Values .... and what about our values ??? mirjam
59. #11 ed, #41 harold
solomon ,   bklyn   (01.07.12)
“what American Jews believe”, “the US public is fed up”, etc. Speak for yourselves. Don’t categorize your own beliefs as those of everyone else. That is only your own fantasy.
60. #50 al
solomon ,   bklyn   (01.07.12)
Then why do so many American Jews support Israel? You have revealed your own ignorance.
