1. How about female clerks at the welfare office
Haim ,   TA   (01.09.12)
Will they be walking out of the social security office to get their social benefits if they are dealt with by a female clerk ?
2. Mr. Rabbi, Sir
Sagi   (01.09.12)
Just to let you know. I also walk out. I walk to the other side of the street when I see one of you coming. I get up from my seat and move to another if one of you sit beside me on a bus or train . If my luck is bad when I board a plane then I ask to change seat. I avoid you like the plague. You are anathema to me. If you have the right to avoid and debase women then I have the right to do the same to you.
3. Free Speech?
Larry ,   Los Angeles   (01.09.12)
Yo? Is it ok to say your opinion in this country? HO ho ho...

6. Who is the Boss
Amazed observer   (01.09.12)
When will this madness end?
7. #2: I could easily share your attitude, but I don't.
tom ,   tel aviv   (01.09.12)
Reason for that is, that if I do interact with a Follower of the Imaginary Friend I just may save his soul from that religious poison he/she is influenced by.... I had a Habadnik coming every Friday to my office in hope of "turning me around" and I told him that my ambitions were the very same, towards himself. We had great relationship for a while and to this day I have a drawer full of Shabbat-candles that he used to leave each time. Needless to say: none of us succeeded
8. Wow!
PaulZion ,   Israel   (01.09.12)
These guys must really be sexually uptight, if a woman singing turns them on so much that they caannot control their urges. The biggest mistake the country made was to force/allow these fanatics to enter the army. We already can see the detrimental effect it has on the soldiers, male AND female.
9. If Europe does the whole institute of alternate service
Miron ,   USA   (01.09.12)
for religious soldiers, surely Israel can do something. Note, soldiers, not cadets and officers. It's one thing to dedicate life to career, where one represents the state to the whole world, and it is a totally different matter to serve as the soldiers, devoted to his G-d and homeland. Israel is on the wrong path mistreating religious feelings of its lowest ranked army serviceman. An path distinctly different from the rest of world democracies.
10. Don't tell my son what to do!
Moshe ,   Jerusalem   (01.09.12)
G-d created women as well and I don't recall him telling me at Har Sinia that I can't listen to women singing.
11. My mother said not to speak
Ralph ,   Caesarea   (01.09.12)
to uggly and sexually sick men....
12. Misrad Ha Revakha!
Jew1 ,   Ashdod   (01.09.12)
If these lunatics are openly insulting and abusing woman, what they must be doing to their wives, sisters and children? I hope our state creates new budget to check thier home behavior and I am sure that we will find tons and tons of abuse cases hidden under their "pink world"...Please somebody take a note and save those children and woman....
13. # 7 Tom
Sagi   (01.09.12)
In general, a Catholic priest, a Christian vicar, a Cardinal of Rome, a nun or a monk, all strangely robed, certainly not in keeping with the norm, treat me with respect. They will greet me cordially, they will respect my attire and that of my wife, they will greet my wife with a handshake if necessary. Our black coated wonders have no respect for me whatsoever,I shall therefore reciprocate. There is no logic or reason that can dictate that I should condescend to their ways while they show complete intolerence to mine. I am ordained by the rule of society to address a Rabbi with respect while he has the right to treat women as no more than useful objects for household chores and reproduction.
14. # Moshe
Sagi   (01.09.12)
Actually "God" told us on Mount Sinai everthing and anything that fancies the whim of the ultras on any given day. That is the long and short of it.
15. Not every Rabbi says this
Zev ,   Israel   (01.09.12)
Do not defame all religious people because of a few Rabbis. Most religious people follow their own Rabbi and most Rabbis will not tell them what to do unless they are asked and the Rabbi knows that his advice will be followed.

David ,   Haifa, Israel   (01.09.12)
"he biggest mistake the country made was to force/allow these fanatics to enter the army." You prefer the draft dodging cowards from Tel Aviv? I am Dati Leumi and will DIE for Israel. You need us... unless you LOVE those draft dodgers so much
17. Stand up for your rights
rebecca ,   Modiin   (01.09.12)
Women have the right to sing and men have the right not to listen. This is such an insignificant thing in the bigger picture of the IDF that to split the nation over some entertainers is stupid. It has nothing to do with fighting the enemy, unless you see the enemy as Judaism. The first boys that walked out did so quietly, yet they were made an into an issue. Well if the army want this to be an issue, then this Rabbi is right. Make it one. The army is being lead by pathetic little feminist supporter wanabees.
18. # 17 Rebecca
Sagi   (01.09.12)
You have not the slightest idea how an army functions. Military academies, institutions and units are not democratic, even if they are functioning in a democratic society. You also obviously have no idea what a matter of principle means. This is not only not a small and trivial matter, as you imply, it is a matter of cardinal importance to the future of our society. First a finger and then the whole hand.
19. #17 Rebecca clueless in Modin
Haim ,   TA   (01.09.12)
Quite obviously you are cluless as to how modern army are run. A soldier is required to carry out his duties regardless of his opinion, religious beliefs and so on. This kind of behavior can lead to anarchy in the army. A soldier disobaying commands on the battle field can cause the death of others, so be a good girl and move to the back of the bus would you.
20. #18 and #19
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (01.09.12)
If you served in the IDF, it wasn't kravi, so you can best keep your advice to yourself. An army revolves around kravi soldiers. The whole purpose of military entertainment is increase morale and esprit de corps of kravi. You want to help the soldiers who defend you? Give them what they want: more ammunition, more sleep, warm clothes, al ha'esh, tickets for football matches. Bit now the jobniks change everything around. They force the kravi soldiers to watch some third rate jobnik singer so that she can feel she did something when she goes home to mommy.

Ze'ev ,   Nbg, germany   (01.09.12)
Your words show that you just want to hurt people, which dont share your religious way! I dont know why some religous, orhtodox and ultra orthodox believe thier way would be the only right one, thats a shame, they dont have a monopoly on religon! Dont forget that
22. To Sagi, Tom, et al
Yoni ,   Shomron   (01.09.12)
All you secular leftists, like Sagi and Tom (great Jewish name!), take a look at yourselves and your examplary society: divorce rate -- close to 50%; adultery rate -- 75%; 60% dodge the army; kids on drugs, violence in schools, drunk drivers/murderers on the roads, etc., etc. And you have the CHUTZPAH to even THINK that you have something to teach the religious??? As our wise Sages said: Fix yourself FIRST, then fix others!
23. "One was Eliezer" (Exodus 18:4)
Yoni ,   Shomron   (01.09.12)
Thank God for Rabbi Melamed! A true leader who is not afraid of ANYTHING or ANYBODY, except for God and His Torah! And, thank God for Ehud Barak for throwing Rabbi Melamed's Yeshiva out of the Hesder program! Rabbi Melamed, independant of the 'shochad' (bribery) in the form of government allocations, can speak the TRUTH without worrying about his schools' funds being cut off. My only question is: why aren't there more rabbis like him?!
24. #21
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (01.09.12)
I am not religious and I do not want to hurt anyone. However, I will not stab the guys who will go with me into battle in the back and I will defend them against attacks from jobnicks. Sorry, but I value combat soldiers far more than army singers. You apparently don't know the story. Until recently, a commander would always tell the sensitive guys when there was "entertainment" they did not want to see, and they would guard or work in the kitchen without offending anyone. Just now, suddenly some idiot commander tricked the soldiers and then called in the press to humiliate them. What kind of commander humiliates his own soldiers?
25. # 20
Sagi   (01.09.12)
Lokravi, super kravi.
26. # 22
Sagi   (01.09.12)
Leftist ? you do not know how wrong you are. I am so far to the right that if the world was flat, and I was standing in Kamchatka, I would fall off. Your failure to misinterpret me me arises from the fact that I am also a humanist, being such, and a student of history, I know the "contribution" of both religion and extreme ideologies to the human race. That contribution can only be measured in negative terms.
27. Rabbi urges troops to defy orders
David ,   Germany   (01.09.12)
Wow! Just think what would of happen if Moses and Aaron blew off Miriam?? Last time I read the Torah she was dancing up a storm!! . Your laws not G’ds!!!! So the Ladies are good enough to fight and die for their country but do not deserve any respect! First do what they do then you will have earned the right to criticize.
28.  Honorable Rabbi and commander...
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (01.09.12)
If you don t stick together, how do you expect the soldiers to follow you? United we stand, divided we fall.
29. LISTEN!
Rochel ,   Los Angeles USA   (01.10.12)
An IDF soldier follows orders. If he or she disobeys any order, then what's to stop them from disobeying other orders? If I were in the IDF, I do as I'm told; without question.
30. To Yoni
Steve Goodman ,   Israel   (01.10.12)
You should heed your own advice.......plus, do unto others as you would have them do unto you......
