As a secular we have had it up to here with religious coercion and the radical harideem. He will stand up to these religious biggots that are trying to send us back to the dark ages. lapid has every right to enter politics. Livni's career will be wiped out once he enters the knesset as he will gain more favour than she who is essentially an empty vessel to her chagrin. israelis should keep 2 things in mind- 1) lapid's father enabled olmert to remain in power whose decisions killed 150 idf soldiers and citizens and who emasculated the state 2) if you are sick of yossi beilin and ben ami rationalizations and concessionaire approach, you will be turned off by yair lapid whose bleeding heart nakba psychology was found wanting in olmert's record who damaged israel by distorting reality and favouring invented palestinians nationhood while reducing israel to a dzimmi state. If you hated olmert, you will loathe lapid. The lapids were dinner buddies with olmert while he was doing what the attorney general alleges. Give me a break!

If he forms another party ( which he probably will ) it will be yet another blow to the democratic process because we will have another political wannabe forming yet another single issue party further splitting the mainstream vote just so he can join a coalition and become a senior government minister. We are getting to a stage where the single issue parties control more Knesset seats than the mainstream ones who want to get their people elected to run the country as a whole. The more parties we have the further the further the vote is split, already the largest party has just one quarter of the Knesset seats and between them the single issue parties have nearly 50%. Is it really good for the country if Yair Lapid who doesn't know the first thing about running a becoming a government minister just because he is the famous Yair Lapid? . We need three mainstream parties where MKS are directly elected and the party than wins the most seats runs the country alone for a fixed period of time. Get rid of the coalition system where single issue parties buy their way into government.
