1. Where do I start with this peddler of hate
Al   (01.09.12)
1) He is not what Israel needs. Much like his father, he will seek to divide and conquer. 2) Shallow with a sense of entitlement. I suppose it comes with the territory. A cuddled child of holocaust survivors who was told he can and should be better than anyone. 3)Knows full well that his day in the sun is setting. Being a looky goody flutter in the heart, moist in the legs kinda guy, he thinks this will be his shot at fame. I have about summed him up, hateful, entitled and obnoxious. He should do very well as an Israeli politician.
2. of course...
J.Gad ,   Israel   (01.09.12)
I find absolutely nothing wrong with your article Mr. Magenzi, although you skip to comment that Avnery met Arafat...?
3. Politicians give a good show.
Ali Clark ,   Scotland   (01.09.12)
Some politicians are detached from reality but atleast a journalist knows the true reality on the ground unlike some of what right spews forth .Yair Lapid could do a lot for Israel
4. Ronald Reagen
zivron   (01.09.12)
In the superstate Ronald Reagan arrested the ship and backed star wars like projects .He helped in the transition of the Ussr to the Islamic califates as Enemy number one not to allow the USA to decline through complacency as 9/11 proved the danger. In every generation they arise to destroy us .Peace is still a delusion.
5. You forgot Nachman Shai!
sk   (01.09.12)
6. It is not so important where you come from, as what are you
tom ,   tel aviv   (01.09.12)
turning into? If you become a stripper it really makes no difference if you've been a secretary or a nun before that... Well, it IS little more spicy if you were a nun, I admit. A real, old-school journalist should at least be equipped with large amount of factual knowledge and that in itself would be a bonus to anyone entering the circus of politics. But there is something that is not "right" with this Lapid-picture.... Would I like him had he been a right-wing, sulphur-spewing nationalist??!
7. Israeli politics needs new blood in its identity crisis
Josh   (01.09.12)
Any change in the political make-up of the Knesset has to be good for Israel. Even better as the political commentators in the media predict Lapid's new party will win enough seats to displace the coalition circus of religious freaks who are hell bent on turning Israel into a theocracy under the reign of Netanyahu.
8. pathetic like his father failed
Dora Mann   (01.09.12)
a two bit reporter and story teller wants to be the mentor of the nation. Pathetic!
9. grotesque bias
david ,   new york   (01.09.12)
all this time lapid is a "reporter", pretending that he is unbiased. now he proves just how biased and political he was all along. we need people who report the news and have no agendas to distort their reporting
