if the resources to install and operate 1 million gray water gizmos in individual homes was used collectively, it could be used to build desalination plants that produce actual fresh water. individuals lack the skills to monitor and maintain such systems, leading to serious health and environmental problems. graywater recycling makes more sense where sewage treatment facilities are overloaded.
3. Israel's grey water recycling already highest in the world
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (01.12.12)
Given that Israel already makes more use of recycled grey water than anyone, I can't see where the Federation's claim that current legislation "misses out on 94% of the sector's recycling potential" comes from.
4. What? NO! What about desalination water?
Israeli 2   (01.12.12)
That's what all cities in the world do. We must do better than that. How about condensing humid air for example or creating H2O in huge laboratories?
5. reading for comprehension
tom ,   toronto, canada   (01.13.12)
"According to Steiner, there are currently 12 greywater recycling facilities in Israel that are operating sans regulation, making them ill-equipped to properly recycle the water." so the solution is to install one in every home?!
6. many options available

1.grey water kills less people than smoking. implement community based sysytems under the guidance of ministry health. 2.desalination 3.extracting humidity from air is amazing 4.tighten controls on excessive overuse and waste. 5. restrict exporting water in the form of cotton and other crops that are more suited to other climates
7. Greywater - How about free water, heat & cooling
Yitzi ,   בית שמש   (01.13.12)
Israel should aggressively permit the construction of earthships. Goolge the term earthship for more info.
