31. #30 one of the dumber post I have ever seen.
Eli ,   Jerusalem   (01.17.12)
Madam, you are not even Israeli, you proclaim America the Beautiful in capital letters so it shows where you think your values are. The article was about the Israeli Press, in case you did not notice. You turned it upside down with a moronic screed against an imaginined Haredi press. As much as you believe that all things in life must fall to a "free" press...in Israel as in America there is such a thing as Yellow Journalism and sensationalism. That is what THIS article was about.. Kindly learn some logic.
32. Ora , 19 , many charidim OPPOSE the State ! !
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (01.17.12)
Not enough that we have external enemies , but also internal ones , who do not contribute very much to the State . Who will feed this quantity of kids ? who will defend them ?
33. the real perspective
Aliza   (01.17.12)
the editors from the Haredi papers, Shimon Breitkopf, and Yossi Elitov are correct - things are out of control in the secular press, and the public. the weeds, or hooligans, who call themselves are not Haredi, and they must be dealt with appropriately by the police. the regular Haredi public must be left alone to live their lives peaceably, as they normally do.
34. The country is not going mad, may actually start to go sane
Ehud   (01.17.12)
And no, separation in busses is unacceptable in the state of Israel as in any other democratic country. And what's that talk about "we like our gettos"? BTW, the ate certainly not autonomous regions; Israeli sovereignty and law apply!
35. This is a very good example of bad damage control LOL!
Talula ,   Israel   (01.17.12)
36. #27 about WE?
Tal ,   Tel Aviv   (01.17.12)
that's is your take- from far away- the US of A? What do you know about Israel? Men sitting at the back of a bus- it is about men who are too whimpy to control their urges, who are ready to jump every woman who is not covered from rop to bottom? Why can seculars behave like civilized people and religious arel like horny goats?
37. If gov't pays, then civil law rules. (end)
roxanne questi ,   haifa/sfo   (01.17.12)
38. Haredim
Ben Halevi ,   Hedera   (01.18.12)
they deserve what they are getting, israelis have never paid attention to their attitudes.... now it is pay time
39. #24 The juggling matters.
Roman ,   Lod, Israel   (01.17.12)
Because the media uproar wasn't there when the event actually happened - it was there two months *after* the event, while the national religious and the ultra-Orthodox were sitting down and talking about *preventing* such blatantly wrong acts from occurring. The media, in effect, blew the whole area up, brought in protesters that the little girl's *very religious* school won't even let enter, because they're hardly the crowd it wants to see inside its doors, and started an organized media witch-hunt that spent each and every day focusing *not* on an immediate case of assault against a little girl, but on looking for more Haredim to blame. Because Na'amah's case was long past. It was presented as if it happened just yesterday. It was a game of interests, first and foremost. And the media then went and *looked* for the few loonies who thought that spitting on little girls was a great idea, and presented them as representatives of the Haredim. When if you actually *listen*, and read this very article, you'll find that the general consensus is quite different. You assault a little girl, you should be arrested and tried. You force women out, you should be arrested and tried. You behave violently in the street as part of a protest, you should be arrested and tried. Instead, you have "brave" reporters out hunting for "exclusion" in gyms in the Technion, and brave activists going on sex-separated buses in Bnei-Brak to see if someone will try and force them off. Two-penny heroics, and madness just the same.
40. WRONG SPECIALTY
David ,   New York, NY   (01.17.12)
The nation is not in need of a psychiatrist. It IS in need of skilled ONCOLOGISTS to deal with the CANCER that is growing in its' midst: Haredim. In the guise of that bullet-proof word, "religion," this cancer is little by little eating away at the nation and if not defeated will eventually destroy the nation and thus the ultimate irony: a version of the Jewish religion ultimately destroying the Jewish state. How a brave, gifted people can allow themselves to be victimized in this manner is a subject for serious scholarship and rectification.
41. Haredim will mobilize
zivron   (01.18.12)
The days will arrive and the mass of haredim will be mobilized for their physicalsurvival will be at stake . They will need to build bomb shelters fire antitank weapons learn coordinates and push buttons and even be allotted infantry and tank duties . The days will arrive and their will be masses of them MASSES.
42. The revival of the polish ghetto !
Yossi   (01.18.12)
I do agree. Israel is in dire need of psychiatric care due to the haredim's wild "" women exclusion, IDF exclusion, women's vocal prowess, segregation of the sexes in buses, sidewalks, stores, beaches "" and many other crazy fantasies of their imaginations, moods, or plain being nasty. In a plain haredi laguage ,to be a pure Jew, one must live in the squalor of their ghettos. Customs must be included such as Schooling, sex, dress code, not working, but begging is a prised gift which our confused and out of kilt govt is obliging, by 'milking' the real Jews --- the free Jew, the liberal and non religious Jews.
43. women
john ,   toronto   (10.17.12)
Segregation is a crime. They are different but that does not mean segregation should take place. Education starts at home .
44. orthodox in need of therapy
Ruchel Kersner ,   Modiin,Israel   (05.01.13)
As an orthodox therapist with many years of expereince, I know that many couples, individuals would benefit from counseling. Using tools that really work, acceptance of all Jews where ever they may be religously, make my practice worth checking into. 'The right therapist makes the difference'
