1. Celebration ??
hmm...   (01.12.12)
No food, no jobs, and the streets look like a monkeys' cage that has not been cleaned for months.
2. Victory over Israel?
Yossi ,   Israel   (01.12.12)
They lost in 73', I can't understand why they think they won that war. Egypt is a ignorant and poor country, they must continue with the peace treaty, or we can take the Sinai back.
3. Only return of Sinai can create balance with Egypt.
Jerry ,   The Netherlands   (01.12.12)
4. Egypt won the '73 war?!
solomon ,   bklyn   (01.12.12)
G-d willing there won’t be another war, but if there is, G-d willing they lose the next war with the same result as at the end of the last war.
5. Egypt lost big
David ,   USA   (01.12.12)
Amazing how brain washed and ignorant they are. At the end of the war, the Israelis will still holding the entire Sinai and the Egyptians retreated back to Egypt. Yet, they still think they won the war. Ignorant people
6. Losing the '73 war
Howard Immanuelson ,   US   (01.12.12)
That poor country. It's funny to hear of Egyptians traveling abroad for the first time and being stunned to learn that their country lost that war. Sometimes reality comes in the form of a cold hard slap to the face.
7. egypt won the 73 war
Rob ,   UK   (01.12.12)
in their minds because any arab state which survives a war against Israel without being turned to cinders considers it a victory. ha, losers.
8. You must understand them
sipahi ,   Istanbul   (01.12.12)
because the same is true for you, you think that you have won the 2006 Lebanon war. They did not have victory, but did not lose either. At the end, the got Sinai back.
9. Cause to celebrate
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (01.13.12)
Egyptians celebrate October 6, named a city after the massive losses they incurred during the 1973 war They have every right to celebrate their Revoltuion, people are living on less than $2 a day, the still have free housing in cemeteries among the dead, because the can't afford housing among the living No matter which political party becomes dominant, the Egyptian Army will still retain control, as it has, ever since the kicked Farouk out Mohammed Naguib Gamal Abdel Nasser Anwar Sadat Hussnei Murbarak All military men, that's the way it's going to be, whether the Egyptian populace wants it or not
10. The real looser: Isreal
mama america ,   Toronto Canada   (01.13.12)
Irealli always forget or try to forget that if not helped by USA , the egptisn army would have been in jerusalem,
11. The joke is on us, my friends
Iranian Jew ,   LA   (01.13.12)
No one can understand Arabs these days. They knowingly signed a peace treaty to get their land back. One look at the casualties and the operation will tell you who lost or won the actual war. Now, the Egyptian military is trying to fool them that they really won? This is comical. Israel compromised Sinai to give peace a chance. Now, we Jews and Israelis understand why it is such a waste of time to even consider this so called peace or should I say piss. Who are we kidding here? These people will never want to understand us. Period!
12. in 73, the Israeli forces were entrapped
observer ,   Egypt   (01.13.12)
1-the suez-cairo road was under the egyptians' control as there were full two divisions 16th mechanized and 4th armored repulsed any israeli forces tried to get closer to the road as the israeli commander who fought the war say. 2-the israeli forces were the forces entrapped as the rear of israeli wedge was under control of the egyptians as Sharon failed for three times to occupy Missouri, which dominated the heights north of the Great Bitter Lake, was important for keeping the yard and bridge out of Egyptian artillery range. Thus the israeli supply lines was under control of the egyptian armed forces. 3-the egyptian 3rd army didn't ever never got entrapped as there were egyptian forces controlling southern of the bitter lakes and was able to repulse the israeli for many times and thus the 3rd army entrapped the israeli not the israeli entrapped the egyptians . 4-Two egyptian divisions were assigned to repulse the israeli beside the egyptian 1st field army was behind them and didn't joined the battles yet. 5- It was resonable that those israeli tanks less than 200 tanks were not able to surround an army with 300 tanks beside the 1st field army west of these israeli forces beside those two divisions 16th and 4th which was entrapping the Israelis.
13. #10 The actual loser was Egypt
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (01.13.12)
She lost each and every war she started, leving her dead behind in the desert, abandoning hardly used equipment which we put to good use In 1948, Egypt said that they were about to enter Israel, as they were heading home with their tails between their legs Read about the Mitla & Giddi passes and all the Egyptian equipment that was destroyed, by the hundreds
14. #73 Not so observant observer
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (01.14.12)
What you pretend to know would fill several large libraries Despite the Egyptian advantage of attacking Israel on Yom Kippur the Holiest day in the Jewish Calendar, and their ability to break through the Bar Lev line, Egyptians failed to take the Mitla & Gidi passes, where they suffered a massive defeat of men and equipment in 1967, the Egyptian Army once again failed to win this war, as they did all of the others The IAF also managed to destroy the Egyptian Air force as part of our retaliation for the sneak attack (Reminds us of Pearl Harbor) During the Yom Kippur War of October 1973, the Israeli Air Force shot down 334 enemy warplanes in air-to-air combat for the loss of only five of its own. A further 180 Arab aircraft were shot down or lost due to circumstances other than aerial combat. The Israeli army was defeated so badly that after the war Sadat had to sell his soul to get the Sinai back Yup, you guys were real big winners, of space in cemeteries, when bodies could be recovered for burial I wonder how you Bozo's would have felt if Israel had attacked on Ramadan Come to think of it, the Egyptians also bragged how they were about to enter Tel Aviv in 1948, as they were retreating towards Cairo, leaving practically new equipment behind, their men chained to their guns so they couldn’t flee, those that did managed to get away without water & supplies, died in the desert for the lack. Bedouin wanted money for the water, wouldn’t give a single drop out of charity to their Muslim brothers, many perished in the desert as they headed for home
15. what strategic gain the victorious had in 73
observer ,   Egypt   (01.14.12)
Over 2.800 Israelis had been killed, at least 7,500 had been wounded, and some 500 had become POWs. If the US had experienced equivalent losses in the Vitnam war, it would have suffered 200,000 American dead- a figure four times the actual number. In Mansura Air Battle on October 14, 1973 occurred, Israeli Air Force fighters attacking Egyptian air bases were intercepted by the Egyptian Air Force. On that day, 160 jet fighters, most belonging to Israel, battled for a record of 53 minutes over the Nile Delta town of Al-Mansoura. Despite the numerical and qualitative superiority of the Israeli warplanes, 18 Israeli planes were downed. The rest retreated. Egypt announced the loss of six planes, only three of which fell to Israeli fire. Some 750 years earlier, Louis IX of France was captured in the main Battle of Mansoura
16. NON-OBSERVER - EGYPT
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (01.14.12)
I really like you, when confronted with facts that refute your fictional versions of events, you run off, just like the Egyptian army did when it was confronted by superior Israeli forces
17. how old are you? Israelis didn't celebrate a 73 victory
observer ,   Egypt   (01.14.12)
in 1973, Israel faced a very different war termination. The failure of the army and government (so called machdal or blunder) resulted in a growing avalanch of protests which left no place for a PR celebration.
18. in 73
observer ,   Egypt   (01.14.12)
Israeli Brigade Commander Colonel Shoham was killed during the second day of fighting, along with his second in command and their Operations Officer (each in a separate tank). The IDF deterrent capacity had been weakened as a result of the war.
19. Israel's victory in 73
observer ,   Egypt   (01.14.12)
Israel suffered three-to-four times as many casualties in 3 weeks of fighting as the United States did during almost a decade of fighting in Vietnam. The 1973 war produced unprecedented numbers of soldiers suffering from combat shock and other psychiatric problems. The ratio of psychiatric cases was as high as 23.1 percent of all non fatal cases.
20. the invincible army didn't celebrate little victory

23. NON-OBSERVER "NEW RULES"
BEN ABO ,   ISRAEL   (01.15.12)
From here on in we only discuss what you, yourself have personally experienced, which of course means that you have nothing to talk about Anything else will receive the reply you so justly deserve, VAST SILENCE
24. #17 NON-OBSERVER
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (01.15.12)
Israeli's don't celebrate death, Muslims are the ones that pass around the candy In 1973 we were caught napping, since your sneak attack was carried out on the holiest day of the Jewish year The end result after your armies were defeated (notyou of course, being nowhere near the fighting) Asad was forced to sign a "Peace Agreement" in order to have the Sinai returned Sadat brough peace and was killed for doing so, since Arabs have no conception of what peace is Be a good fellow, stop copy all that stuff from other sources, try to originate something all by your lonesome
