31. This is so funny
Metin ,   Germany   (01.18.12)
So Israel is supporting a kurdish terrorist organization (PKK) because Erdogan is supposedly supporting Hamas? How is Israel any better than "evil" Turkey now? The PKK has killed hundreds of soldiers, policemen and civilians, including pregnant women, only last year alone (2011), Hamas on the other hand...? Israel has supported the PKK far longer than Erdogan is in power. It is only a matter of time before one of those Israeli drones will be shot down, and then what? The Kurds will get consitutional recognition and rights (more so than they already have as turkish citizens; the president Abdullah Gul being a Kurd by the way and the leader of the kemalist party, Kilicdaroglu is a Kurd, too). A referendum will be held when the new constitution is finished and it will be accepted by the Kurds, because I don't believe the Kurds in Istanbul, Bursa, Ankara etc. are going to give up their jobs, university place and shops and move to a new Kurdistan. But with such stunts such as using the PKK against Turkey as a tool is going to backfire big time with Israel already losing sympathies even within parts of the Kemalists. Then again, Israel isn't known for its successfull and foresighted foreign policy (at least in recent years).

You find it funny? Do you find Auschwitz, Belsen, Buchenwald, Flossenburg, Ravensbruck, Stutthof, et cetera et cetera ad nauseum amusing as well? You come from the most criminal country in history ever. You need to shut up. And stay that way -- for your own good, if nothing else. The plaintive bleats of a German citizen are just WAYYYY to easy to refute. Don't set yourself up for a terrible fall.

The whole problem with your thesis is that Turkey has NOT apologized to Israel for Turkey's Gaza mistakes, and Turkey has NOT admitted to being wrong. That renders the balance of your talkback -- well -- pretty much worthless. But in answer to your question as to where the leaders of Hamas and Hezbollah are going to hide now that Damascus is out of the picture -- nowhere. Dead men walking. We will find them, and we will get them. Good riddance to terrorist scum.

Truth be told, he is Dutch and has likely been hanging out in too many Dutch marijuana cafes. What passes for his "brains" are TRULY addled. By the way -- did you go to Georgetown, by chance? That's one of the schools my daughter is looking at, which is why I am asking. Looking to pick your brain, because it is not a school I find entirely appropriate for her.
35. # 32 Oh, Sarah
Metin ,   Germany   (01.18.12)
This is you intentionally "misunderstanding" other posters. And how did the Holocaust get into this now? You did not even try to refute any of my points. PS. The funny thing is the pot calling the kettle black when it comes to supporting terrorist groups for your own gain.

David Israel ,   New York, USA   (01.18.12)
1. Israel was not supporting PKK before AKP came to power and most likely still is not supporting PKK. In fact During the last Ecevit government Israel provided Intelligence to Turkey that helped capturing Abdullah Ocalan. While USA and Germany would not modernize the Turkish jets and tanks because they opposed the use of them against Kurts Israel did. And during the AKP rule as recent as 2 years ago Israel sent 3 heron UAV's on loan to Turkey with Israeli staff to operate them against PKK. 2. Hamas is much worse then PKK. They deliberately target innocent people and children in Israel. Two examples are Dorit Benisan and Yuval Abebeh, little babes killed by Hamas rockets. And yet Mr. Erdogan Invites Hamas leaders (Haniyey was in Ankara recently being received like a hero in TBMM while Meshaal visited Turkey officially several times n the last 5 years.) Furthermore, Hamas hides behind their own children and women so that when they are chased and these innocent ones are hurt they can use it as a PR opportunity while PKK hides in isolated Kandil mountain, not putting their own in danger. 3. In Turkey laws and constitutions are not worth the value of paper they they are written on because they are not obeyed. The latest constitution supposedly made freedom of speech wide and yet thousands of journalists (Mustafa Balbay, Nedim Sener, Ahmet Sik) are n jail for what they wrote and even not published. A world respected organ transplant surgeon Dr. Haberal also in Jail with no substantial allegations. 4. About Kurdish rights. Only a few days ago Leyla Zana's rental apartment was unconstitutionally raided by the government. As sad before law and Constitution has no meaning f they are only to stay on paper as a show to the rest of the world. Metin Dostum. Maybe Sarah dd not address your points but as you see I did it very candidly and sincerely. I am a friend and strong supporter of modern Kemalist Turkey. I only wish that Turkey wakes up and realizes again that their best ally n the world is Israel. As Meltem Cumbul sad t at her strange Golden Globes appearance the other day BARIS / SHALOM.
37. I don't trust Turkish media where politics are concerned
Ypip ,   Canada   (01.18.12)
ever since Fethullah Gulen and Erdogan established their empire of nonsensical rhetoric.
38. #34 - According to another Dutchman, he is a Frisian
Henry from New York ,   USA   (01.18.12)
(also Dutch of course, though at the same time, not, if you catch my meaning. :p) I have never seen syntax like that before and the Frisian dialects can't be that different from German. Nope, sorry, I don't know anything about Georgetown U.
39. #31 - granted - these claims against Israel are not proven
William ,   Israel   (01.18.12)
Currently, these accusations are merely anti-Israel rhetoric brought from Turkey and Iran, two countries who are vehemently anti-Israel. Even if Israel did support the Kurds in Iraq, there is no proof such support trickles down to the PKK actions in Turkey. Nor, is there even proof that Israeli actions are against Turkey in the first place as Iran pointed out when they stated that Israel has been helping Kurds for years. Hamas is a deadly terrorist org, and one that is more racist and more genocidal than the PKK. While Hamas wants to replace Israel and kill (or ethnically cleanse Jews from the region), the PKK simply want their own State on Kurdish land and not to destroy Turkey or its people. BIG difference! Plus, Hamas indeed targets pregnant women, kids in schools, doctors, etc. Remember the kid they kid using an anti-tank rocket on a school bus?? The difference is - the PKK has killed more police and soldiers as a percentage then civilians because that's who they target. Hamas on the other hand targets civilian almost exclusively, which is why police and soldiers are a very low percentage of their kills. How rockets did the PKK fire into civilian areas in Turkey? Hamas admitted they fired over 11,000 in the course of the decade. ...and Erdogan supports them completely.
40. US Taxes
American ,   NY   (01.18.12)
I just want my country (the US) to be free from the pro israeli lobby who swindle $1000000's out of our taxes to finance a piece of stolen land. I just want our troops home. No more wars for Israel. Sorry, but each day more of us are waking up to this fact. Israel best get some friends and stop acting like a spoilt kid. Thank you ,
41. #40 - Hahaha - sounds like a Ron Paul supporter joined us
William ,   Israel   (01.19.12)
Big on bravado, small on facts. The US gives more money to hostile nations than it does to Israel, and gets nothing is return: Egypt, North Korea, Iraq, Pakistan, hundreds of millions of lost aid money that ended up in the hands of the Taliban. Israel is on their homeland and we're not going to give up our home and our lives because you're tired of reading about it in the news. Now you sound like the spoiled kid. Take your troops homes. They're in the Middle East for oil anyway. Everyone knows that except the dumbasses who still blame it on Israel.
42. 41-I think the plastics glued to his skull.
Ypip ,   Canada   (01.19.12)
43. It's nothing new
Idil S. ,   Vienna   (01.20.12)
and Turkey doesnt complain about it, It was what they would expect from Israel, obviously. We all see what it brings to Erdoğan supporting a free Palastine, but what is it gonna bring Israel supporting Kurdish rebels? Quite unprofessional The only thing that Israeli politicians are doing is trying to use this situation as a card directly against Turkish Government. However Turkey's attitude is very clear: for aught I care
