Obama`s speech is just filled with electoral campaign slogans attempting to please as many sectors of the opinion as possible, be they isolationists or hardliners on the question on how to deal with Iran without regard to contradictions. Pretending that sanctions imposed on Iran are working because they are not only tough but also applied by all countries is a straight face lie given the actual flaunting job of Russia, China, Turkey, etc...

The best way to protect American interests was to support the Green Revolution that would have toppled Ahmadinejad. He now has some way to pretend to support Israel that sounds vaguely legitimate. I'm sure someone has told him that his old line "I'm Israel's greatest supporter" is not sounding too good. Bashing Iran, in Israels cause, sounds so much better to the voters and donors.

Is that he will be re-elected and America can focus on it's economy and stop fighting wars. The unnecessary Iraq war is over and Bin Laden is dead so we need to pull out of Afghanistan asap. If the high and mighty Israeli's want to fight Iran they should put up or shut up. The last time I checked the only nation that is really taking true action against Iran is the USA. If Israel want's to show the world how it is done in regards to sanctions against Iran it should boycott and sanction any country that does business with Iran. Also it can send it's navy through the straights of Hormuz like the US does. In other words Israel should lead, follow or get out of the way. The USA during the Bush Administration also bashed Israel and forced the cease fire in the 2nd Lebanese War on Israel supported by Britain, France and Russia.
