Good one Charles! What about, dont cross the street, a car will knock you down & kill you. Dont eat, you will choke & die! Rofl.
32. Undermines Credibility
Sailor ,   USA   (01.30.12)
Anti-Internet advice by the Rabbi's only undermines their credibility on the advice they give on all other issues. Unfortunately, there are individuals who do not or can not think for themselves.
33. Internet
David ,   USA   (01.30.12)
The net is way out there. The deeper you go the worse it is to get back. However, to use the net as it was really intended for is good, but we all know that isn't the case in most lives. Way way bad...is the net. If we could keep our mind fix upon Him we would find less time surfing, and more time reading the book. By all means use the net for the right reasons, have fun, but like they are saying in this article leave the bad surf alone. Of course there will be many more in the unemployment lines, but more good will come out of it.
34. 30 , you may have "olam haba"
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (01.30.12)
Nobody came back from there to tell us how it is . So i prefer the Olam Haze , with all his dangers and pleasures . PS i wish you to live "ad 120 + 20 "
35. Internet is here to stay
Gila ,   Beit Shemesh, Israel   (01.30.12)
Like a television, there is an off switch. Yes, there are some people who have difficulties with the internet, but there are also various Torah learning sites which enable people to learn from the internet. Like anything else in life, it can be used for good and it can be used for bad. The internet is here and it's the new technological revolution enabling greater communication.
36. 34 Thanks
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (01.30.12)
37. Only PEOPLE are evil
don't blame internet ,   Israel   (01.30.12)
it's all about FREE CHOICE and learning how to do good, not evil. People choose. Rabbis need to say that PEOPLE have become very evil and can't control themselves.
38. #14 right................
robert ,   TelAviv   (01.30.12)
you are right- bad things are on the net- there are also bad things in the paper, in the street- the Rav is missing the point- listening to this old man rant and rave is a bad thing too...he is talking about things he does not understand- Israel is a High Tech country, Education is good, fanatism is bad, so is ignorance.
39. Evil peoples
Istvan ,   BUDAPEST HUNGARY   (01.30.12)
Evil peoples are evils, because they want to hurt other folks somehow. If an evil people attacks somebody with bare hands, it is less dangerous. But if it attacks with sophisticated weapons, knife, machine guns, and atomic bombs, it is much more perilous. The internet is such a weapon in the hands of antisemites. Something must be done against it !!!!
40. See, I have set before thee...
Kristine ,   Norway   (01.30.12)
this day life (CHAI) and good, and death and evil,.. I have set before thee life and death, the blessing and the curse; therefore choose life, that thou mayest live, thou and thy seed;.." (Deut. 30:15-20, See also the Prophecy of Moshe; 4:27-31---30:1-4). The choice between the blessing or the curse is nothing less than the choice of whether to accept the Torah or not. WWW has the numerical value of 666, 6+6+6=18. The number 18 in Jewish numerology is "Chai" - Life.
41. This or "the Kings Torah"? Hmmm?
Josh   (01.30.12)

42. Ovadia-Amar-netfull of fools

43. Ban the phone
J.K. ,   Brooklyn USA   (01.30.12)
How much lashon hara ?. (gossip) is delivered and exchanged via this evil instrument, any wonder that Mushiach is not coming.
44. 43 And while you are at that...
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (01.30.12)
ban the talkbacks: how much lashon hara?...
45. As they talk for their followers
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (01.31.12)
it's not so we , the seculars , who are concerned . If those "rabbis" want to hold their sheep uneducated and living in the dark ages , it will not change very much for those bipeds . They will continue to spit on girls and assault women , and live as schnorrers .
46. I think the Rabbis are mainly ...
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (01.31.12)
concerned about Lashon Hara and waste of time ,when advising not to use the computer.Nevertheless their followers are allowed to use it for work.
47. Rabbis and Internet
Yakov Rabkin ,   Montreal, Canada   (05.21.12)
This is typical of Ashkenazi approaches to modernity, and it makes sense that the proceedings in the New York stadium last Sunday were mostly in Yiddish. These approaches have largely failed. May be it is time to enrich the debate with Sephardic approaches formulated before most Sephardic rabbis had been assimilated by the Ashkenazim.
