1. this is not Iraq 1981 its a whole different ballgame
zionist forever   (01.27.12)
In 1981 Saddam Hussain has just the one nuclear reactor, he wasn't expecting an attack and its air defenses were limited. Today Iran is preparing for a strike by burying its sites underground and they have a number of sites spread out around the country. That means assuming the Israeli jets managed to get near the sites because they are spread out we would only be able to hit twi sites maximum. It would also be a suicide mission because of the high risk of getting shot down by air defenses. Israel pilots would also need all their racks to be filled with bombs if they are hitting underground sites and that means no missiles to defend themselves from Iranian fighters and the fact that if they need to conserve fuel so can't use afterburners. Basic tactic would have to be get out of Iranian airspace and eject over an arab country & hope they return you to Israel alive. Submarine launched missiles don't have the range. Israeli Jerico missiles could reach but there are a limited number of them and they would be needed to retaliate to any Iranian retaliation. Only America can do this job because they have the equipment to do it that israel does not and they have over 100 jets in their Gulf airbases and they have Tomahawk missiles launched from their ships Unless Iran pushes Obama to far by closing the Straits of Hormuz as a retaliation to sanctions then in an election year and a fragile economy Obama won't do a thing. Nice to think Israel can do it but it can't

Bernardo ,   France   (01.27.12)
Warmongers should fight first instead of talking cheap.
3. i completely agree
Mike ,   London, UK   (01.27.12)
stop talking about it and get on with it before it's too late - the irony is the world is secretly praying for Israel to strike the mad mullahs, nobody else has the balls the do it.
4. Lack of will
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.27.12)
I have come to believe we do not have the will to survive. If we did, Iran would be obliterated and the ersatz Palestinians forcibly removed from our land. When the Russians were closing in on Berlin, Hitler sought a burnt-earth policy to destroy everything and everyone (including Germans.) He didn't think the German people deserved a leader such as him nor the future he envisioned. Well, my fellow talkbackers, you don't deserve a person such as me nor the vision I have for Israel. I have given you my all and all you do is disappoint. Soon you will not have me to kick around any more.
5. Israels new policy
Ken ,   Australia   (01.27.12)
Killing mad men when ever they threaten the jewish people, when its time to act I beleive israel will act , because they can not stand by for much longer, the shiites must be made to learn there lesson, its time to re-set the the clock of the middle east , i beleive this arab spring is the green light to do so, if the arabs think the clock will be re-set in there favor , they will be wrong as per usual. Time is ticking and the clock is re-setting its-self, watch and learn. If any body needs some one to press buttons, I really need a job.
6. #4 Sarah B. It's Not Your Fault!
American Firster ,   The United States   (01.27.12)
Make sure you know the location of your closest bomb shelter, check your passport and take your medications too. You'll be fine.
7. difficult decision
marcel   (01.27.12)
barak was against iraqi and syrian hits. Wha tmakes anyone think he is for an iranian hit? The only way this hit goes forward is if its the only alternative and if yaalon and the team of 8 force the issue. Barak is unable to make this decions on his own.
8. # 4..I AGREE!!
Eli F. ,   SomeWhere, China   (01.27.12)
Sarah, I have read most of your talkbacks and what can I say. You talk to the point, are concise, succinct and know your history. I too feel that we, as a people, as a Nation, we are so divided amongst ourselves, that we don't see "The Writing on the Wall". and the "Gathering of the Storm". One of the reasons that I'm no longer in Israel, was that I felt in my own homeland, I was becoming a "Dhimmi's Jew". It seems the "Laws of the Land" only extend to Post Zionist revisionist, Left -wing Elitists and Rabid, treasonous Fifth Column Arabs and their ilk. Not to mention the Anti-Israel Black-Hats. I don't even wear a Kippa and can understand what's unfolding. I don't fear that Judaism will disappear, but I dread to think what will become of Israel. I don't think its the 'Lack of Will", but our misreading of the events around us and all the "Signs". Its not the first time. We've been through this twice before.... Ill miss your observations and cutting wit. Whatever you do, be well.....and take care...
9. The post at No. 4 is not mine.

10. To: Zionist Forever at No. 1
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.27.12)
Why are you limiting Israel's attack possibilities to fighter jets? These may come in once Iran has been sufficiently neutralized. At the outset, my guess would be that an attack would come from the sea.
11. Dimona option
larry ,   kibbuts Israel   (01.27.12)
'i wonder what you are talking about , what is this Dimona option? lets set the records straight, Israel doesn't have the Nuclear Bomb ! we are just bluffing and have been for the last 45 years "
12. #4 What's the rambling all about?
Nour ,   One-State   (01.27.12)
Just go hide in your closet, nobody is interested in your apocalypse warnings Sarah. You're obviously a broken woman. By the way, we never give up on our homeland.I'm sure you noticed that. The more the threats, military atrocities, and inhumane crimes committed against us, the stronger we emerge. We were here long before your great great great great great grandfather was born, and we'll stay here. It's our homeland & future and we have no intention to drop dead or run for the hills, as you do in New York.

Congratualions, a realistic comment.
14. To Sarah B.
sipahi ,   Istanbul   (01.27.12)
Your "inferioty complex" reflects itself in every comment of yours. Average non-Jewish people are likely to become anti-Semitic when reading your non-sense posts.
15. Disagree
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (01.27.12)
An Israeli attack on Iran will at best delay Iran's nuclear ambition, but not stop it. It will strengthen Ahmadinjad and lead to a world economic slow down that will be used to delegitimize Israel. Israel must realize that Iran's ambition is taking over Israel's archenemy Saudi Arabia and that an Iranian attack will hurt, but as long as Israel holds Judea and Samaria, not be a fatal blow. All Israel should do is prepare to move it population and industry to Judea and Samaria, and wait. Eventually, the Americans will attack Iran at Saudi bidding.
16. sarah--lack of will
arne ,   chicago usa   (01.27.12)
sorry sarah, cannot agree with your thinking on this one. really one of the few times, but keep writing, stay heathly and don't check out yet.
17. Please, Sarah B, don't leave...
Avi ,   NYC, USA   (01.27.12)
We need you for the secret mission behind enemy lines...

19. TO #5 Sarah
David ,   New York, NY   (01.27.12)
Gotcha. You could have at least acknowledged Richard Nixon for his contribution to your peroration. I'll be sure to "to tell your family that you loved them very much."
20. #4 - Sarah
Maurice ,   Montreal   (01.27.12)
Dear Sarah, what do you mean when you say "Soon you will not have me to kick around any more.". You got me worried...
21. History repeats itself.
Israeli 2   (01.27.12)
They were at our doorsteps before, will they be here again? What can defeat them is only: Tshuva, Tzdaka and Tfilah, Ahava and Simcha (betach beHashem). Care for the poor, hungry and homeless in Israel. Destroy the Knesset and their clowns.

shaun green ,   pasadena usa   (01.27.12)
The sanctions have led them to economic fail levels that make Greece look like Germany.
23. Emet
Israel ,   Texas USA   (01.27.12)
You couldn’t have said it better. We can not allow Iran who had stated over and over again in public the hope for the destruction of Israel, to have nuclear weapons, the question really will be how can this be achive. Sanctions, War, Regimen Change, or all of the above. With G-ds help Israel Leaders and other leaders of the free world will work to bring this to happen.
24. Goodbye Sara
Jim ,   Seattle, WA   (01.27.12)
Your laughable stance will no longer give me a morning chuckle. Good luck in your new endeavor!
25. "Anti-semitic" ? Most of you "ashkenazis" are not even semit
Nour ,   One-State   (01.27.12)
Get a grip on your hysterical selves and admit it, your war mind games have failed. You never had the guts to touch one hair of the so-called Iranian threat. Most of you, especially that bitter Sarah, are full of hot air.
26. How dare you?
(01.27.12)
'The residents of Sderot and Nahariya learned to live with missiles'
27. #4: LOL
TC   (01.27.12)
You forgot to take your pill... again?
28. #4 Sarah
Jayjay ,   Israel   (01.27.12)
I think its more a matter of realization than a lack of will. Realistically, Israel cant do it alone, without a joint effort with America.....its juts too big job. I have a feeling Obama is stalling, till just before the elections, before he agrees on a joint strike.
29. the whole world is pushing Israel to strike
Oleg ,   USA   (01.27.12)
Everybody are waiting for this. Nobody expects madmen in Iran to have a bomb. Stupid Saudis, Liberal Europe, US even Russians, but all of them want to keep their hands clean. And after the strike they will all blame Israel for not being humans. Bastards! History never teaches them.
30. Don't go away
