1. NO GUTS NATO AND OBAMA
Richard ,   Boca Raton, Florida   (01.28.12)
Where is the mighty NATO coming to the rescue of the poor innocent Syrian rebels? The answer is that NATO took on a soft target in Lybia in getting rid of Quadafi, and allowing the Muslim Brotherhood to take over. Nice job NATO and Barak Hussein Obama. That helped the neighborhood. Wouldn't it be wonderful if NATO and our good Muslim leaning president had the balls to take on the Syrian regime which would polk a finger right in the eye of Iran. THEY DON'T HAVE THE GUTS TO TAKE ON THIS OPPORTUNITY. Just wait for Israel to do the dirty work.........again.
2. Arab League and the UN...
Malone ,   Hfx   (01.28.12)
...Dumb and dumber...
3. #1: Just like in Lebanon?
Beckyinz ,   UK   (01.28.12)
Israel sure took care of business there, didn't it? The world will be much better if Israel stays within its borders--let the adult nations act when opportunities arise.
4. Beware of Russia!
Tom ,   USA   (01.28.12)
Whenever and wherever the Russians say NO! the West withdrew unconditionally. Russian military invasions in Hungary '56, Prague '68, ...now Syria. Western powers attack weak, defenseless countries only, - provided they can do it safely without losing a soldier. Only strong, brutal nations are holding all the trump cards like Russia, China, Assad etc. The West --EU+USA -- lives in a Pol.corr. induced Utopian stupor which is the brainchild of a small, interconnected international group of ideologues with lots of money.
5. Lebanon?
Tom ,   Canada   (01.28.12)
Beckyinz, Lebanon was unfinished business for three simply factsstarting with Hez kidnapping soldiers and killing them which prompted that campaign, after Israel took out most of Hez's s*it and set the stage to wipe South Leb clean of scum the UN got in and saved Hezzy's butts with the lies of monitor/block rearming and disarming a UN declared terrorist org. The last reason was a soft UN pandering gov. in Israel. Your right though on one thing, Israel should stay in it's border's as outlined by UN article 80.
6. Israel should let Syrians handle Syria
Rachel ,   US   (01.28.12)
It's not Israel's business.

Rachel, They probably didn't get the arms from the Govn't of Israel. There is blackmarket trading all over the place here in the middle east.
8. Israeli weapon
(01.28.12)
It is like to claim that since "Kalashnikov" is found by Taliban fighters (which is true) then Russia is supporting Taliban (which is a lie)! Kalashnikov is found all over the world but it doesn't mean that Russians fight there too! I'll be surprised if Syrians didn't have some of the Israeli weapons as well as if Syrian government wasn't going to use this fact as well as any other fact as a fig leaf cover for their own bloodshed.
9. Temporary Freeze?
Brad ,   USA   (01.28.12)
Translation: The Arab League ran out of prostitutes, so the "mission" is over.
10. To Tom, USA
Brad ,   USA   (01.28.12)
You're almost 100% right, but don't forget that the wet rag U.S. politicians don't mind when U.S. soldiers die. That's why the ground troops were sent into Iraq right away, instead of bombing the enemy into the sand first. But after all, our soldiers are just pawns, and we don't want to kill to many Arab terrorists, or make them feel bad about themselves.
11. Richard, Boca Raton
Brad ,   USA   (01.28.12)
The only thing wrong with your opinion is that Obama is not "Muslim leaning". He's flat out on their side. He has just entered his fourth year of kissing Muslim butt.
12. #10. Brad. Yes, But!
Tom ,   USA   (01.29.12)
It happened because of the rare emotional stress that followed the 9/11 tragedy: like an inflated balloon, raw emotions carried away the nation. Unique historical event. It was then. Now is different. If you read the "old" news on the Libyan war the bragging goes that "WE (!) bombed them to smithereens without loosing even one man!" Emphasis on "not even one man!". As soon as the French lost 10 soldiers, the NATO want to end their involvement and "negotiate" the withdrawal. But they had no qualms bombing anybody from a safe distance: that's what I meant.
