1. Israel: Thank you!
Jake Stone ,   USA   (02.02.12)
As an American veteran, I thank you, Israel, for your support; as you will always have mine. God bless, Israel; praying for the peace of Jerusalem! Christian Zionist

3. When brains are needed...
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (02.02.12)
here we [Jews] are. A few thousand years of brain development with Gemara study made of us a brainy superpower. The same as natives from the jungle are physically stronger then white men.
4. Yet more could have been saved if ...
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (02.02.12)
Beyond Israeli armor, Alan in SA notes the Magic Bandage (aka the "Israeli Bandage") that is now standard issue with US field medics. But the US Army elected to pass on the "Trophy" defense system for tanks that proved itself in recent clashes in Gaza while they awaited a US-developed alternative. (How many died while they waited?) And, as the UK's Col. Kemp testified, NATO forces learned a lot about dealing with IEDs and urban combat from the IDF - saving yet more lives.
5. first generation kibutzim would be rolling in their graves
zionist forever   (02.02.12)
A kibutz earning money by developing armor for Americans rather than growing crops not for profit but out of idealism.
6. To: Zionist Forever at No. 5
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.02.12)
I'm pretty sure that the kibbutz continues to grow crops, too. Food saves lives. Armor saves lives. Where's the harm in that?
7. Shouldn't US Ambassador Shapiro be marketing US technology ?
christianpalestinian ,   myc   (02.02.12)
What country does he represent?
8. Shapiro is underlining IL US Cooperation. Its all true!
Alan ,   SA   (02.02.12)
9. How things have changed....
Stuart ,   London UK   (02.02.12)
I once lived on Sasa when it deplored any industry. We had a debate at sichat kibbutz whether to allow TVs in member's flats. I passed by last year and the cheder ochel was deserted, cars everywhere and the road up is now a major highway, not the single track I remember.
10. Just one of many technologies used
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (02.02.12)
Every single American aircraft is flying with our avionics. The number of technologies that we have given the US or aided them on is incredible and the US administration treats us with nothing but contempt.
11. Historical data
Abitbol-Belaich ,   France   (02.02.12)
Many of Sasa father-founders were from North Africa Jewish communities. Bravo for the early Hotvey Etzim veshoevey Maiim. (as the mythology would like us to believe).
12. #7 he represents the U.S. it's true allies!
Jerome ,   Basalt , Colorado   (02.02.12)
duh!!!!!!!!!!!
13. The first garinim which founded Sasa
Stuart ,   London UK   (02.02.12)
Sorry to correct you Abitbol-Belaich, but the founders of Sasa, which was founded in 1948 ALL came from English speaking countries. The first garinim were from the USA, Canada and the UK through Hashomer HaTzair. Many were veterans of WW2. The first members whose origins were in North Africa weren't admitted until years later. They came as Nahal garinim and stayed or were brought in as part of a programme Sasa runs to absorb children in need.
14. This would be good PR, if...
Shlomo ,   USA   (02.02.12)
Why is there never a mention of this in the US press? Doesn't anyone think that it would make good sense to send it to ABC, CBS, CNN and FOX? All I see in comment to news articles about Israel in the US press is that the US gives money to Israel and gets nothing in return. We need stories like this to counteract the growing perception that Israel is the US's welfare state.
15. Move US embassy to Jerusalem, Israeli&world ONENESS CAPITAL.

Plasan Auto and Plasan Armor manufacturing facilities are located in Bennington, Vermont. USA. So......your being subsidized by us to make things that we buy from you. Nice deal.
17. #5 - weren't 1st gen kibbutzniks already spinning in graves
William ,   Israel   (02.02.12)
when many kibbutzim began to disband or join with others due to unsustainable economic issues? One would think if a kibbutz could take on a profit-making venture in order to fund the ideology, it would meet the idealism of the first kibbutzniks.
18. #7 - The US does not have the best tech ion everything
William ,   Israel   (02.02.12)
and they acknowledge how important their relationship with Israel is especially with the technology the US uses in their own offerings, like the F35 fighter jet. It just kills you to know that the Israel-US alliance is strong, with many reasons for it to be so, and the "Palestinians" are still struggling with their own narrative let alone their worth to the world (hint: plane hijackings ISN'T a global value).
19. # 14...'your being subsidized by us to make things that
Edithann ,   USA   (02.02.12)
we buy from you. Nice deal'. Nice work JS...and included is their education is also founded 'here'.... This is finally an investment paying off for us... Don't ever forget..the initial ground work of their education to 'produce' was all 'here' in the good old USA! TATA

If your smart you buy what is best. With the leadership in this country it's a wonder we are not getting these products from China.
21. How stupid!

22. What BS!
yesjb ,   Canada   (02.02.12)
Good try, Jew haters #16 & 19 Plasan is owned by the Kibbutz. They bought the Vermont plant which makes carbon-composites. from Plasan's website: "In 2006, Plasan expanded its capabilities by acquiring the industrial composite expertise of a U.S. company formerly known as Vermont Composites. Located in Bennington, Vermont, the firm is a wholly owned subsidiary known as Plasan North America (PNA)." They also have production facilities in France. Your lying Jew-hating ways need to be exposed. Here's a news flash: The world doesn't revolve around the good ol' USA!
23. Jewish Brains
Joel ,   NY NY   (02.02.12)
I think a few here have it Tuches backwards. The education that Jews get in the USA, especially in science and high tech, comes from Jewish Innovation and knowledge to begin with. Who may I ask gave the world nuclear capability to begin with? Almost everyone to a man working on the oppenheimer project were Jews. No such thing as Jewish science, think again! The reason why Israel doesn't PR the good it does for the USA is simply because they live in a ghetto in their minds and they're not proud Jews. They believe what they're told by the media that they're small and needy.
24. However, the Israeli made...

...cabal of spies that influences US policy has brought about the death of thousands of American soldiers, and the financial ruin of America.
25. #22
JS ,   USA   (02.02.12)
Im not lying or a Jew hater. I live in Bennington and the vehicle pictured in this article is made at the Plasan Armor plant in town. They show them off. I never said the kibutzz didnt own plasan. I did say though that its a sweet deal that the US subsidizes you to make products that we buy from you. If that makes me a Jew hater then you must think everyone hates Jews.
26. We serve eachother's ends
Cameron ,   USA   (02.02.12)
Everyone wins.

You are a whack job. Go back on your anti-psychotic medication. Thousands of Americans have died in a futile attempt to bring modernity to Arabs and Moslems. Not a single American has died protecting Israel. You know what? I'll bet the farm that your name isn't Avi. More like Ali.

Don't American service personnel deserve the very best there is? If you do not think so, you are living in the wrong country.

For someone who has loudly and longly proclaimed Israel's alleged "absolute dependence" on the United States, you're being a tadbit disingenuous, don't you think? i do, and I'm kind of smart. Oh, I'm sorry -- that's a lie. I am incredibly smart. I also think that your assertion of Israel's alleged absolute dependence on the United States has been rather turned on its ear. BIG TIME. Are you honest enough to admit it, Cameron? Or will you revert to type?
