1. Hmm..How come we don't hear the...
Mark ,   Lodz, Poland   (02.14.12)
Russians condemning this foreign intervention. In the bigger picture, it ought void their rhetoric vis-a-vis ''Western interference'' in Syria
2. Iran's Generosity
Lolek ,   Toronto, Canada   (02.14.12)
Didn't some of the Basij Malitia that helped Iran supress the Green Revolution come from Syria? So it's only fitting that Iran return the support in this time of need. And how do the Iranian people feel, living in poverty while millions are being sucked out of their economy to fund a brutal dictatorship trying to destroy a liberation movement?
3. If Israelis are clever enough..
Arctodus Simus ,   Fort Yukon-Alaska   (02.14.12)
They should funnel anti tank weapons and ligth weaponry to the rebellion torgether with some intelligence on how and wher eto use them. If Assad falls, it will be a important loss for tehran's shiite regime.
4. all Assads allies are shooting themselves in the foot
zionist forever   (02.15.12)
With its open support for Assad Russia may end up losing its naval base in Tartus under a future regime. Iran should be dumping Assad officially and help him behind the scenes. Hezbollah should also not be openly supporting Assad because Assad's friends will probably find themselves considered enemies of the next regime. When will these idiots learn that supporting an unpopular regime that's on its last legs is not smart.
5. TO LOLEK AT 2 .

they are not supposed to feel .only to OBEY . in the fakeeeeeh PRISON .
6. A man can dream...
Henry from New York ,   USA   (02.15.12)
I am dreaming that Iran and Hizbollah turn Arab World against them. Then the more hostile Arabs stop focusing on Israel, Syria and Iraq fall apart and the Kurds become a nation with a sovereign that is an ally of Israel. Enemies in disarray and a new ally. Ideal setup so long as you can keep them out of Israel. At least that's what I'd like.
7. #3 - Didn't we do that in Afghanistan?
Henry from New York ,   USA   (02.15.12)
Because I don't remember that working out very well for us.
8. Though choice
Murdock ,   Germany   (02.15.12)
The choice for the syrian people is though indeed. Either Al-Queda backed "freedomfighters" or Iran backed Assad forces. No side to cheer on,hope both sides will fight to the last man.
9. Iran is desperate to not lose Syria - and with it...
Rafi ,   US   (02.15.12)
Tehran's base in Lebanon. They are rolling all their dice on this... What, by the way, is the fate of Hizbollah or Revolutionary Guard operatives who fall into Syrian rebel hands...?
10. Confusion with the article.
solomon ,   bklyn   (02.15.12)
It is written in the second paragraph "the Arab League said that it will not supply the rebels with arms unless the bloodshed comes to a halt." 1. I cannot find this anywhere else in the artlcle. 2. If it is true, they have condemned the rebels and made sure that the revolt will be crushed.
11. #6 Henry.
KurdishGuy ,   Toronto/Tehran   (02.15.12)
I don't know what world you live in, but we Kurds hate Israel, and my father was one of many that forced out the Jews that lived in Kurdish areas to leave, we are the most religious group in Turkey and in Syria, and when the day comes that Kurdistan is free from Turkish tyranny, our first state visit will be to Palestine, with a gun in our hand, you scum.
12. Are the Arab League Idiots ?
Arn. ,   Sweden.   (02.15.12)
the Arab League said that it will not supply the rebels with arms unless the bloodshed comes to a halt. Comment - Seems as !.
13. iran's generosity
david ,   london   (02.15.12)
Iranian's probably feel the same as the American's do when they see their money going to Pakistan, Egypt and the rest of the countries and not on their own., Which is the same as the Brits feel about money going on over sea's aid, rubbish as it would be good if all countries would focus on repairing their own economies
14. Long term destruction awaits Syria
Nora Tel Aviv   (02.15.12)
Assad, Russia, Iran, Hizballah (and why not Hamas) , Taliban, Al Kaida, Shia, Sunnis, Alavis , the Arab Ligue, Syrian opponents, European Union, Americans, Israel, the UN (and why not China)....all of them are pouring their forces and influences into Syria. Another Afganistan ?
15. #11 kurdishguy
solomon ,   bklyn   (02.15.12)
I suggest you google Kurds and Israel. You will find evidence of Israel training Kurd soldiers, among other things. There are a lot of people who disagree with you, especially the part about you thinking its everybody else who is the scum, not yourself.
16. #11 - The Kurdish governments seem to disagree with you.
Henry from New York ,   USA   (02.15.12)
They hate the people whose countries currently hold the land of Kurdistan. They have worked with Israeli for years and should be good friends and another important in the region (for us in the US). Just because you are of a certain group doesn't give you the right to speak for that group, nor does it mean that you are correct in what you say.
17. #11 THE POLITE, HOMELESS KURD
Iranian Jew ,   LA   (02.16.12)
Thanks for letting us know why Kurds don’t have a real home or land. The chances of you getting your homeland is much better than the people you call Palestinians. By the way, Palestine is not even an Arabic word. It is Greek. That is what Greeks called migrant Arabs from Saudi Arabia. Why would an Arab nation “wana be” let Greeks give them a Greek name is just beyond our understanding. I guess Arafat was not clever enough to come up with an Arab name. Or maybe he just wanted the land for whatever reason there was. Or maybe he just did not want Jews to live there. Here is some fruit for your brain. Please go read some history and then maybe you can learn how to live with others and amongst them . Until then you will be lost between Toronto and Tehran. And stop calling people names!
18. SYRIA, IT''S SYRIAN PEOPLE, LEBANON, IRAN AND SO ON...
SJOERD R. ,   MULTIVERSE   (02.16.12)
IF THAT PRESS-STORY IS TRUE, THEN FOR EXAMPLE HEZBOLLAH SHOULD MIND IT''S OWN LEBANESE BUSINESS, THE IRANIAN ARMY IN SYRIA SHOULD MIND IT''S OWN IRANIAN BUSINESS. ALSO SYRIA HAS AN ENTIRE UNITED NATIONS ORGANIZATION''S MEMBERSHIP, COULD ASK FOR A U.N.O. ADVISE/SOLUTION FOR THE PROBLEM/ISSUE ALSO WITHIN THE SYRIAN TERRITORY, FOR THE SYRIAN PEOPLE. THE SAME COULD/CAN GO FOR EVERY COUNTRY (WITH A U.N.O.-MEMBERSHIP) FOR IT''S NATIONAL, INTERNAL,DOMESTICAL PEOPLE(S). A.S.O....
