majority wants, that counts. A cleaner air would benefit to every body.In Israel many people suffer from asthma. A second restday is an option for long distance visits, It is just a suggestion, nothing more,as i am not like a postage stamp sticking on this idea, till i get there. You have nothing to worry about.

delegates WANT buses on Shabbat . A second rest day , OK . but how will i get to my family if the bus drivers have also a second rest day ?
40. not that simple
david ,   new york   (02.21.12)
tel aviv is way beyond desecrating the sabbath when it comes to sins: they are putting themselves out as the gay capital of the world. still, this means that the bus drivers will need to work on shabbat, it means that businesses will not be able to survive if they are sabbath observing and employees in those businesses will be forced to work on the sabbath. it will it difficult to observe the sabbath for people who work in tel aviv.
41. only country not working on sabbath??
david ,   new york   (02.21.12)
i don't think so. in new jersey they have blue laws and the stores are closed on sunday. new jersey is not exactly a fundamentalist christian state (the legeslature just approved homosexual marriage)

ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (02.21.12)
Good exercise for a healthy heart.
45. Needed the bus when I was taking care of my ailing father.
Michael ,   California, USA   (02.21.12)
He was hospitalized for a long time. The hospital was about 15 km from where I was staying in Tel Aviv. I bought a monthly pass on Dan and managed well during the week. But it was sherut travel on Shishi-Shabat. Sherut drivers were a chatty group and disturbed me at a time I needed peace and quiet. In contrast, riding the bus was much more pleasant. Many of the taxis smelled with cigarette smoke. I wished the convenience of bus travel was available on Shishi-Shabat in Tel Aviv.
46. Ora . You can't become a bus driver
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (02.21.12)
in one second . Those unemployed must be able to drive , not an easy job . Moving their legs ? will you go 15 km ? And what with people who have difficulties to go ? Be serious , let's have buses 7 days a week , no charidi opposition will give more unity in the Israeli people , something you are advocating . Or is it that only seculars have to make concessions for this unity ?
47. 46 Charles,What do you think of..
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (02.22.12)
a referendum of each town separately? This is a democratic way of solving the problem.
48. 47 , only if it's COMPULSORY to participate
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (02.22.12)
Because the religious will vote "en masse" , while a part of the seculars are'nt interested . There is NO country , worldwide , who has no public transportation 7/7 i think . Public transportation is a MUST . In our birth country people who don't use their car anymore , receive a discount on their public transportation . Retired don't pay anything on buses & tram . This all to reduce the use of private cars .
