6. Got a big surprise for you, Observer #2 !
FO ,   Belgium   (03.02.12)
Indeed, dear Observer, I have got a big surprise for you: Israel HAS a declared border. Indeed, it is not the UN partition plan of 1947, a plan that was not binding, and anyhow rejected by all Arab states. So is it the Green Line better known, but falsely called the 1967 border? Again not ! The Green Line was the cease-fire line drawn with a green pencil, in 1949, by the the two armies, the Israel and the Jordanian, who both agreed that this line would never be considered as an International Border. So, dear Observer, you will remind me that I began writing this post, claiming that Israel had a declared border. So witch is it, you will ask ? Well, listen carefully ! In 1922, the League of Nations voted unanimously, by all its 51 members a resolution, called the "Mandate for Palestine", the Jewish National Home, De Facto; a State. This Mandate gave the Jews the Irrevocable Right to settle anywhere in the area between the Mediterranean Sea and the Jordan River, including the Golan Heights. This right is unaltered and valid to this day, recognized as International Law, and reaffirmed by the United Nations through Article 80 of its Charter. Even UN Resolution 242, voted shortly after the six days war, and became the cornerstone for diplomacy in the Middle-East, was based on the League's decisions. If you still aren't convinced, and I suppose you aren't, I advise you to read articles written about this subject by Prof. Eugene Rostow, author of UN Resolution 242. They are available on Internet.
