A bombs and North Korea
2. FOR SOME STRANGE REASON
DA REGGAE MAN ,   SAFED OPERA HOUSE   (03.01.12)
I cannot fathom why Mr Ross's no doubt well intentioned words leave me unconvinced.
3. The ADL and Dennis Ross both work for Obama.
Chaim ,   Israel   (03.01.12)
The ADL is making itself well known for slamming some of Israel's best friends, including Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh, MIke Huckabee and Rick Santorum. And who does the ADL honour? Dennis Ross, whose policies would destroy Israel within a decade if Israel was lunatic enough to adopt them. Who is the ADL really working for? You guessed it. Obama. Just like Dennis Ross.
4. Bibi only calls because he HAS to... which is BAD
EZRA THE PROUD JEW ,   USA-ISRAEL   (03.01.12)
Israel has become far too dependent on the US in terms of deciding its right to self-determination. Its very sad that Israel is not allowed, under current political agreements with obumma, to make unilateral decisions to defend itself, without US permision. A pitiful circumstance to find oneself in, especially when most americans and the entire globe sees Israel as being simply a military base for the US in the ME...which is NOT the case. Israel must break free from the US' grip and maintain a high level of cooperation but on NO conditions aside from not intentionally endangering US interests...they are still friends. But it is humiliating that Israel must seek obamas approval for ANYTHING! Humiliating!

If relations between the two leaders were so great, the Obama administration would not have to constantly point out how great it is. When a relationship is great, there is no need to point it out. Everyone can see it.
6. Who else could Bibi call when diplomats attacked in Egypt?
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (03.01.12)
Egypt wasn't returning Israel's calls when its diplomats were under siege. Israel wasn't going to go in and rescue them. So Israel had to talk to someone that had influence in Egypt - and that's the US because they provide some $2 Billion annually in military and economic aid. Was China, or Russia, or India going to help? The Euros are useless. The US is also the guarantor behind the Egypt-Israel treaty.
7. #4 you post is eroneous ..
Michael Redbourn ,   Arad Israel   (03.01.12)
Israel isn't asking the US if it can attack. It will be far better if the US and Israel can coordinate their actions; that's all. Nobody I know sees Israel as being a military base for the US. What are all these things that Israel is asking Obama to approve? Maybe you need to start talking to a wider group of people and get some fresh input?
8. Ambassador Ross: Stop being the Obama stooge!
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (03.01.12)
Tell the truth for a change. Iran has bullshitted the world for years and will continue to do so because the USA, the UK and Europe are to scared to confront the Islamic lunatics!

Ron31 ,   Fairfax, USA   (03.01.12)
You maintain the, “USA, the UK and Europe are to (sic) scared to confront the Islamic lunatics!” There is another reason why the US is reluctant to see an Israeli attack on Iran. For once in the last 64 years, the US must put its own national security interests before those of Israel. There has been enough US sacrifice of blood and treasure for Israel. The US must not allow itself to be led down the path of a war with IRAN A preemptive strike on Iran’s nuclear bomb making factories is definitely not in the best interest of the United States. An Israeli attack may disrupt Iranian nuclear progress for 2 months to 2 years: but Israel can’t handle the consequences alone. When Iran closes the Hormuz Straits in retaliation, Israel, and the rest of the world, will call on the United States to open and keep open, the Hormuz Straits.

Would you care to elucidate on where and when the US sacrificed blood and treasure for Israel? Sacrificed blood? No. Israel has always fought its own wars and never asked the US to fight for them. Sacrificed treasure? No. Most of the funds to Israel are spent in the US. Loans are paid back. Israel is training our troops in combat in built up areas of that part of the world. It shares intelligence with the US; intelligence that is difficult for Israel to obtain, but impossible for us. It also shares improvements it makes on US equipment. It is a two way street. US sacrificed blood and treasure for Israel? No.
11.  The Israeli Air Force has
seadog1946 ,   ErieBasin, NYC   (03.02.12)
over 300 expertly maintained and super enhanced fighter/bombers in it's inventory (initially, gratis from Boeing and General Dynamics), an untold number of aerial refueling tankers and the services of special units of the vaunted IDF to implement/assist in a sustained preemptive strike on selected targets in Iran... just, do it and minimise the "existential threat" to Israel for the next several years. Also, can you please give the US a "heads up" so that US assets in the region can be prepared for any Iranian blowback/retaliation. Someone/anyone punching one or more waterline level holes in one or more of our assets would wreak havoc with our "financial sanctions only" foreign policy... but, you, the IDF, already know that and don't need to be reminded about that option.
12. It is not the business of the US
George ,   USA   (03.02.12)
It is not the business of the US to determine what level of advancement Iran achieve in nuclear technology as long as it complies with its NPT agreement. So, Obama, Ross and Clinton can jump up and down as much as they want. It won't make a difference. They will just be disappointed more. Iran is not going to be pushed around.

Zed ,   UK   (03.02.12)
It's obvious that the U.S, UK and EU are more aware of the potential catastrophic consequences that such action might bring, unlike kamikaze Netanyahu, yourself and many others.

15. Israeli Trust of Obama
Syd Chaden ,   Palermo Calif USA   (03.02.12)
One has to look under the bus in order to take a poll of those who trusted Obama and relied upon his assurances. Obama needs Jewish contributions and votes in order to be reelected, and so, Israel has his undying support. But, after the election...

NYC Girl   (03.02.12)
What bullshit. For your information, not a single American soldier has ever died defending Israel...unlike the casualties our forces suffered as a result of our going to war for Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Afghanistan. Not only that, but the Israelis refrained from retaliating against Saddam Hussein when he rained those Scud missiles down on them in order that the U.S. could preserve the so-called Arab coalition. And if you think the mullahs hadn't already painted a bull's eye on America's back long before the Iranians having nuclear reactors was even an issue, you've got another thing coming, because there's a reason why they began referring to us as the Great Satan after the Iranian Revolution...and it had nothing to do with Israel.
17. Dennis Ross
Albrecht Klein ,   Germany   (03.02.12)
I suppose, it's OK if Iran expectedly attains nuclear capabilities?
