There is a saying in the Middle East that you cannot have war without Egypt and peace without Syria. Israel making this offer doesn't change that fact or that they have the most powerful army in the Middle East (which no one is challenging.) Iran is developing these weapons for self preservation not to unilaterally start a war with Israel. They are more interested in preventing a US invasion and less interested in self annihilation. They wouldn't risk a first strike on Israel for fear of a US nuclear retaliation. The issue here is to tone down the rhetoric and determine if a peaceful solution can be found with all sides saving face. Israel, with its usual bull in a China shop mentality, makes that impossible but it doesn't change an obvious first choice option. Your black and white mentality is the same one that got us into Iraq. Hopefully this time reason will prevail.

Then I am a traitor and proud of it. I am a disabled vietnam war veteran. A marine grunt. I had my boot camp at San Diago. But, Those who bless Israel will be blessed. Those who curse her will be cursed. Thank you very much but I will pledge my allegiance to no one but the Almighty, Hashem!

John, you said, "The Israelis started a nuclear Middle East by being one of only three countries in the world not to sign the non-proliferation treaty and build a nuclear arsenal of at least 100 bombs. They could publicly state today, we will transfer all our nuclear weapons to a monitored facility outside of Israel and agree to stop further nuclear weapons production provided Iran halts all development, agrees to unfettered inspections and dismantles their enrichment facilities." My reply: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHEEEHAHAHAHAHAHEHEHEHEHOHOHOHOH! Too funny indeed!!!

You said, "I know that the Israelis never miss an oportunity to go to war." Put yourself in Israel's shoes. Take a good long look at history which you obviously have ignored! Just go back a few years. Just to hitler would be far enough. What would you do? Educate yourself or shut up!

I'm not really offended by your comment. I realize it would be impossible with someone of your limited mentality to make a substantive argument against my talkback.

North Korea obtained the bomb because Pakistan was willing to sell them the technology. Pakistan, Israel and India were the only three countries in the world that didn't sign the Non Proliferation treaty. North Korea has no friends besides China and clearly wanted to blackmail the West for aid. Because it didn't work they are willing to negotiate that capability and nuclear monitoring for food now. Between sanctions and a rational offer by Israel ,we may or may not get an equivalent response from Iran. I'd sooner try than involve America in potentially another protracted war. As to the rants of dictators, Krushchev once said at the UN he would bury the US and he had 1,500 nuclear tipped missiles pointed at US. They stayed pointed at us for forty years unused.

By Israel's own military assessment the best an Israeli military strike will do is to delay Iran's development of a bomb by 2 years. The only way further damage can be done is by using an American airstrike with bunker busting technology. In other words for significant damage to be done, America must go to war. Even then the only guarantee of no weapons development is with a US invasion of Iran. Do you think that's funny?

picking on Israel to further its hegemonic mischief - since you have factored in 4 countries in the equation - Israel, India, Pakistan and Iran itself. By extension therefore, it is Iran that seeks to draw in both the US and Israel into a war guaranteed to kill ISRAELIS and Americans and disrupt the world economy as it seeks to reinforce its "unworkable foreign policy". Iran should "actually look in the mirror and hopefully it will not like what it sees". It is good that you have established that it is not because of Israel the myriad of countries went into the business of nuclear weapons. Your implication is accurate - Iran has made Israel the scapegoat for its aggressive overtures - and those have been plenty, what with the tried and proven terror proxies (including Hezbollah and Hamas) it unleashes on Israel. Nothing at all like Krushchev, won't you say?

I think what got us into Iraq were people who wanted to make money from it. (Haliburton ect.) Getting into Iraq would have been fine if we had left immediately once Saddam was toppled. Israel isn't the problem in the middle east and it's mentality such as it is stems from being a tiny country surrounded and vastly outnumbered by people who don't want peace but only to destroy it. Israel has to be tough to survive. Self preservation is something Israel has to worry about every day. There would be no threat to Irans preservation if they would shut up, keep their noses out of other countries business, and act like they want peace.

Only faggots spell it without the H.
41. Obama support for Israel

Israelis, and American Jewish and Christian supporters of Israel, would be much better served by praying to G-D for HIS GRACE, than they would be relying upon Obama for his grace.

In 1979 Jimmy Carter betrayed the Shah of Iran to make room for the Islamic Republic of Iran- The threat to America was and is more than obvious. In 1982 Israeltookout Iraqs Osirak Nuclear facility. In 1992 Saddam Hussein attacked Saudi Arabia and invaded Kuwait. So why is Irans nuclear ambitions a threat only to Israel? How obvious that the threat is to the stability and security of America and Western allies. Expansionist Islam is not a myth. The history is there for all to see... and a dirty bomb coming from Americas vulnerable borders in the South is a real and present danger... moreso with Iran acquiring Nukes.. Israel bashing wont save anyone!
43. Do not learn from mistakes of history you will repeat them
Jeremy ,   Star, United States   (03.05.12)
Israel is well within her rights to defend herself. She is a lone nation surrounded by enemies. Europe has historically oppressed her (with Egyptian slavery, Babylonian and Persian conquest, Roman oppression, the Jewish Ghettos and many oppressive acts performed by the Roman Catholic Church during the middle ages, The Crusades and Jihads, The Nazi Hollocaust, the Russian Pogroms.) how can any sane informed individual see such a systematic and persistent oppression of one group of people and not see that they must take up arms to defend themselves or face continual attempts at annihilation? America was one of the few nations to consistently stand in defense of Israel Now this president has turned his back upon them and shown himself hostile toward them. Yet I encourage the Israelite that YHWH has not forgotten His promises to Abraham, Isaac, or Jacob. Israel shall prevail in the end but only those who serve YHWH shall see that great day.

If israel strikes and delays Iran's development of a bomb by ["only"] 2 years, they gain a respite of possibly being annihilated (G-d forbid). Do you think that's funny?
