1. peace with the Palestinians
Dik ,   Spijkenisse   (03.05.12)
cannot be settled with Israel unless the P. reject all violence in words and deeds. Also they should recognise the Jewish state. They should also understand that Jerusalem is Israel eternal undivided capital. A two-state solulition like they wish, will never work. Shalom from Holland.
2. The entire world is disappointed with Obama for taking sides
christianpalestinian ,   beverly hills, ca   (03.05.12)
He should be ashamed of himself.
3. NO SUCH THING AS "ARAB TERRITORIES" it's just more invention
SUPERJEW ,   NYC, USA   (03.05.12)
Invention and make believe, wishful thinking and outright arab blackmail in order to commit a felony...theft by taking. Israel won't allow the land the arabs stole to go back to them ... too bad.
4. Advice to PA
Brod ,   USA   (03.05.12)
Learn to live in peace with Israel. Stop usurping Judea and Samaria-Land of Israel since ancient time. Israel belongs to the Jewish Nation since ancient time. It is their historic homeland. The historic homeland of the PA Arabs is Arabia where they came from in the 7th century. Stop dreaming of destroying Israel.
5. blah blah blah ...
Yossef   (03.05.12)
6. Palestinians disappointed
mat ,   uk   (03.05.12)
ah shame
7. Palestinian hypocrisy on Iran
Shalom Freedman ,   Jerusalem Israel   (03.05.12)
Ashrawi and Abbas could at least be honest about Iran. A nuclear Iran is a danger to the Palestinian Arabs almost as much as it is to Israel. There is no 'clean' way of separating Jews from Arabs in the Holy Land. Why is it always propaganda, a zero sum game? Why can't there be a real will for Peace on the part of the Palestinians?
8. Sending a missive is not a peace act.
Michael ,   California, USA   (03.05.12)
PA continues blowing hot air and it remains nothing more than that even with reliance on the Iranian threat. A real peace act is needed to advance the region toward a two-state solution. Recognition of Israel and departure from the well know threats would be considered positive acts by PA, the mandatory first steps.
9. Sides?
nibor ,   israel   (03.05.12)
Why not? Maybe that's the Palestinian's problem. They are taking sides against us instead of working with us. Thank God Obama is not turning his back on us.
10. Pal leaders+people can't say what peace is
Sam ,   Canada   (03.05.12)
Peace to the Palestinians means that they are ruled n the West Bank and Israel proper by a Muslim entity whether Palestinian or not. Since the Arab world is incapable of doing it for them they try to con the West and Jews into giving it to them. Naturally they refuse and it is this "lack of peace" that the Palestinians are always crying about.
11. What Arab Territories?
Dan ,   Florida   (03.05.12)
Israel is in NO Arab territories what so ever. It is the Arabs that are in Israeli territories. Notice however where we can comment on articles in Israeli papers but there is no such freedom or openness in any Arab or Palestinian media. They know they are wrong.
12. Obama is a pawn of AIPAC
John R ,   NYC USA   (03.05.12)
The only viable peaceful solution to Iran's nuclear ambitions is to offer them two things: 1. Israel would transfer its nuclear arsenal to a supervised 3rd party and dismantle its enrichment facilities and 2. economic sanctions would be lifted. In return Iran would transfer its enriched uranium to a 3rd party and dismantle its enrichment facilities and agree to a regimen of international unrestricted inspections. It is the only way they could agree to halt bomb development and save face. It is the only way to have a nuclear free Middle East. The alternative is a military response in which Israel would delay Iran's bomb development for up to 18 months or w/US air power, 24 months . The only permanent solution to Irans bomb development is a US invasion. The Iranian retribution for a bombing campaign would be missiles leveled at both Israel and the gulf shipping, driving the price of oil to record highs. In addition every US citizen would be open to a terrorist act. Obama's cave in to AIPAC is the same cave in that stops him from demanding a halt to the settlements and proposing an outline for Middle East peace. It is AIPAC's political influence in America which has stopped Israel from maturely facing its foreign policy issues. I sympathize with the Palestinians but most of all w/the Israeli citizens. They should expect an fair peace with their neighbors after more than 40 years of an incompetent foreign policy by their government.
13. The answer is clear
An Amrican   (03.05.12)
We have a choice of siding with a true civilized democracy or side with a bunch of American hating terrorists. The choice is clear...
14. Well duh! Americans don't side with Arab dictatorships
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (03.05.12)
When will these stooges get it through their thick noggins that the Americans (led by Obama) look at the PA and see another Arab dictatorship (actually, they see 2 dictatorships: west bank Fatah and Gaza Hamas). The Americans look at Israel and see a western democracy with freedom of speech and religion. Arabs are allowed to own land and hold public office in Israel. Jews are banned by PA law from buying land in the PA or holding office in the PA - which makes the Palestinians the real apartheid here. Where is there the death penalty for selling land to somebody from the other side? In Israel? Of course not. In "Palestine" selling land to a Jew is a crime punishable by death. Like I said, the Palestinians are the ones who practice real apartheid.
15. Always sour grapes from the people who never owned the land.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (03.05.12)
The arabs wouldn't be happy unless every Jew, every Xtian was dead and they controlled the whole world. Give them what they truly deserve, nothing.
16. The Palis
MG ,   NJ, USA   (03.05.12)
Why is there no accountability on the Palistinian side. Israel withdrew from Gaza and received a terrorist launching base in return. Israel should not be negotiating on the one hand with Abbas/West Bank and on the other hand Hiena/Gaza. They are the same entity, no? Don't he Palis want a state in both disputed territories? If so, they should be held accountable. The Palis have numerous pre-condition to negiotations. So should Israel. And one should be that Israel negotiate with only one Palistinian entity which must end all violence, recogonize Israel, and adhere to all past agreements. No acceptance of the 3 conditions, no negotiations.
17. You wnat to achieve peace?
Oleg ,   USA   (03.05.12)
Stop give money to Pals, stop feeding them, and they will find the way how to make peace in a very short time.

solomon ,   bklyn   (03.05.12)
You've written this before, showing you still refuse to see reality. 1. Iran is threatening Israel with annihilation. Israel is the one surrounded by enemies. If Israel was going to use the bomb, they would have already. But I don't expect you to see that, or admit to it. 2. Another way Iran could halt nuclear bomb development is to simply halt nuclear bomb development while allowing IEAE inspectors in to all sites. But I don't expect you to see that, or admit to it. 3. Defending against threats, both real and perceived, coupled with terrorism and murder, IS maturely facing its foreign policy issues. But I don't expect you to see that, or admit to it. 4. Talk to the "Pals" if you want to see peace. They haven't changed one iota and want what they want, no compromises. But I don't expect you to see that, or admit to it. And this is the abbreviated version.

"The international community" and "the entire world" are your mantras for trying to convince people that your opinion is accepted by the world.  It isn't.
20. No. 2
NYC Girl   (03.05.12)
It's interesting that you purport to speak for "the entire world." However, I can assure you that the overwhelming majority of Americans feel that taking the side of the Palestinians against Israel would be like taking the side of the arsonist against the firefighters.
21. Ashrawi should be more concerned about Christians under PA
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (03.05.12)
Ashrawi is, after all, a Christian. One would think she'd be more concerned about the plight of her fellow Christians living under PA or Hamas control, but clearly her hatred of Israel trumps everything.
22. Oh! Just shut up and wait your turn in the sideline.
Harry Wright ,   UK   (03.05.12)
Have some manners. Can't you see that the big boys are talking? Stop interrupting.

I'm so glad to see Iran has finally put someone in charge of the country who is so reasonable and articulate with an ability to assess the future. I didn't know you were given so much responsibilty in the running of Iran that you can tell us what it would take for Iran to have peace with Israel. The only flaw is that you don't know sqaut! I won't even comment on your laughable "solution" as it is so obviously flawed and, as usual, fails to take into account the reality on the ground.
24. Chief Palestinian Negotiator Saeb Erekat said
A ,   Belgium   (03.05.12)
"the two leaders cannot ignore the Palestinian issue. " Sure they can, the so called palestinian issue is a non-issue, as the "palestinians" are a non-entity. With the threat of a nuclear Iran, civil war in Syria, an upcoming presidential election and other real problems facing the ME and the world, the "palestinians" and their constant whining are actually of very little importance to anyone except themselves.
25. PLO / OLP
