2. You Err and contradicts Yourself.
Arn. ,   Sweden.   (03.09.12)
I Quote - "The regime in Iran is a very rational one," the former top Israeli spymaster told In comparizon to According to the ex-Mossad chief, the Islamic Republic is not rational in the Western-thinking sense, "but no doubt, they are considering all the implications of their actions. Comment - that is to say - The Regime in Iran is a wery CUNNING One. There is no possibillity to oust this regime, If, it would only Replace those Wolves with Other Wolves. Shia Islam in Iran will not be stopped, and changed, untill it has run its Course to the end. Ezekiel chap 39-39. Arn.
3. Wasn't this moron told to keep his mouth shut?
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (03.09.12)
4. Rational
Misha ,   Tel Aviv   (03.09.12)
The Iranians seem to be rational about everything except Israel. Their ancestors pointed the way, as we have just learned from Purim. It's called baseless hatred, incarnated in the person of Haman, and that is highly irrational.
5.  Nr 2. An error occured -
Arn. ,   Sweden.   (03.09.12)
My reference to Ezekiel should have been to chapter 38-39. vers 5 in chapter 38 thus - 5Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them, all of them with shield and helmet; Arn.

MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (03.09.12)
What are your standards of being rational or otherwise. He is rational but not out way!!!Sounds absolutely irrational Dagan.
10. shut up, Meir
E. G. Marsch ,   Nahariya   (03.09.12)
Did someone elect Dagan to go on U.S. TV and undercut our government? Do you see any other foreign national from a democracy doing this on U.S. TV? Is Dagan any longer in the intelligence loop? No, no, and no. He should shut up.
11. Reality
michaelpielet ,   israel   (03.09.12)
Dagan an irrational, idiot, shouild have his lips sewn shut. The leftist Israeli and U.S. media, lesley stahl, a jew, no friend of Israel wants Israel to wait for regime change, what a joke, or until the iranians attack Tel Aviv. Waiting for what?
12. Obama did pay him to speak this????
ROSENVALD ,   BRASIL   (03.09.12)
Or he is a Metumtan???
13. MEIR DAGAN IS BRILLANT AND KNOWS WHAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT...
Rafi ,   US   (03.09.12)
#3: your name is " Noodles from Coney Island" - and you are calling the former head of the Mossad a "moron" ?? All too typical of the arrogant Talkbackers here. But I guess you know better... Perhaps Israel should choose someone named "Noodles" as the next head of its Mossad...
14. He is absolutely right
Dave from Brazil ,   Sao Paulo, Brazil   (03.09.12)
and we should all listen to him and experts like him instead of ranting nonsense and silly attacks. He is definitely not "metumtam", he was the chief of the Mossad for God's sake.
15. Dagan lost his mind and jeopardize Israel
(03.09.12)
16. If you agree with Dagan you are a bunch of cowards
(03.09.12)
17. DAGAN forgot again to take his medecine
(03.09.12)
18. EARTH TO MEIR DAGAN
DA URBAN POET ,   SAFED ISRAEL   (03.09.12)
You may well be right or correct but the leaders in Iran have no intention of going anywhere ,that's right zero intention .Also ,it is rude of you to undercut the elected government of Israel .
19. It's all about the Margin of Error
Steven Gilbert ,   Teaneck   (03.09.12)
If you don't attack, then what's the margin of error for Iran getting the bomb or even the capacity to build one? (Iran is pursuing a variant of Israel's ambiguity policy.) How long for sanctions to work, asuming they can work? How long for regime change? How long until Iran gets the ability to weaponize? How much are you willing to risk?
20. Margin of Error 2
Steven Gilbert ,   Teaneck   (03.09.12)
As far as Israel is concerned, the only person in a position to know the equation for Israel's margin of error is Netanyahu and his closest advisors. They have the access to Israel's intellilgence apparatus. All others should just shut up since they don't know what they're talking about. To the extent that Meir Dagan is no longer in the loop, this advice applies to him as well. And if he's still in the loop, then who authorizes him to go public on matters so sensitive?
21. #16, Label me coward, I took steps to survive & am proud.
Michael ,   California, USA   (03.09.12)
I am surviving in flesh, nor as a distant memory. Meir Dagan is correct and his views should be heeded. Rely on the U.S., now is the time Israel.
22. FORMER Mossad Chied Dagan is naive
Scott ,   Ramat Gan, Israel   (03.09.12)
There is universal agreement that the U.S. could do a better job on attacking Iran's nuclear facilities. Iran has time on its side, thanks to Obama, Israel does not before it gets nukes or hides buries its facilities so deep air strikes will be ineffective. Regime change will not come so easily without a popular revolution. The Iranians are understandably reticent to start a new revolt after receiving no support from Obama 2 years ago. Until there is a democratic, transparent government in Iran, I'll trust the PM & the CURRENT Mossad chief, not Dagan.
23. dagan knows more than any of us or bibi
david ,   haifa   (03.09.12)
i am a sure advocate for taking care of this iranian nuclear issue now! But at the same time this man ran the mossad he knows more than probably anyone on this earth about what is going on in tehran. THe mossad is very cunning and this could be a big front to try to plant some series of doubt in mullahs mind about will or will not the israelis strike. Dagan knows what he is doing and Bibi and the rest of the security services of our country would lock him up if they thought he was a threat to national security, this is a very carefully thought out move by the government iin my opinion.
24. thou shall make war by deception
david ,   haifa   (03.09.12)
Remember the mossadsd motto when you read what Mr. Deigan says. When he goes on 60 mins the israelis want the world and the iranians to hear him. This is deception at its best and i for one love it. Dagan provided the intel that Bibi uses to consider a strike dont be stupid to think this isnt a ploy to confuse the hell out of the mullahs. GOOD WORK ISRAEL. KEEP THOSE FREAKS ON THEIR TOES!
25. I dont think one Sunni state wants Iranian Atomics
Alan ,   SA   (03.09.12)
Only N Korea+Pakistan+Syria..Russia and China
26. No dictatorship is rational
Joe ,   Canada   (03.09.12)
A recent online article pointed out this truth. Even in regimes only driven by the personal interests of its leaders (like North Korea , Syria & Lybia) there is no limits to the crimes they can & do commit on their own people & if needed on foreigners. With fanatically motivated ideologues (like the racist nazis) or religion driven extremists like the Iranian clergy & politicians, there is even less reason to believe that they will act rationally especially when getting close to be cornered. Hitler never wanted to capitulate & continued to uselessly sacrifice the lives of his troops till the bitter end & he continued to order the extermination of Jews when he should have reassigned the Holocaust executioners to the fight against the allies. Was this rational? There is a basic reason for democracies not to be fooled (stupid) into believing that a lasting modus vivendi can be reached with dictatorships of the worst kind: despots cannot deliver truthful concessions to democracies without endangering their own political survival & eventually their physical survival. Signs of weakness on their part is contrary to the way they reign & can only encourage their people to overthrow them if this is not done beforehand by some more radical rival leader.
27. #1, #16 OMG
Patlippe ,   US   (03.09.12)
When Hezbollah leader was killed in Syria by the Mossad, Meir dagan was a hero, now he is an idiot. Oh my god you people change your mind like changing your socks. Everyone who is against wars become idiot or coward in your opinion. It's easy to come barking for war in here since most of the people commenting are not even in Israel !
28. #24 EXACTLY RIGHT ,KEEP 'EM
DA URBAN POET ,   SAFED OPERA HOUSE   (03.09.12)
Guessing.
29. Disgusting! He couldn't change the regime while in office?
Harry Wright ,   UK   (03.09.12)
If he so believes in regime change, why did he not do it himself? He had a few years to do it as Mossad chief. Bla...bla...bla. He does not sound too right in the head.
30. Saddam Hussein could have sent us nukes instead of scuds.
Chaim ,   Israel   (03.09.12)
Had we listened to the likes of Dagan, and not destroyed Saddam Hussein's nukes, Israel could have suffered nuclear attacks rather than scuds. Dagan's advice is irrational and suicidal. He is a servant of Obama.
