31. #25, You are so correct about misapplying the Shoa card.
Michael ,   California, USA   (03.09.12)
It will be a terrible lesson in history if past murders are used to set-in future ones. And you know whose murders I am fearing.
32. Response to#20
John R ,   NYC USA   (03.09.12)
Saddam Hussein could have rained chemical and biological weapons on Israel but he didn't. You apparently think the mutual destruction theory didn't effect Saddam Hussein. It did. He was certainly power hungry but he wasn't mad. You can yell destroy Iran's nukes all day but Israel doesn't have the capability to do it. At the end of your bombing raid they will still be enriching uranium except Israel will be showered with missiles. What's your plan B then?
33. #30 In your dream! Fake Jew.
Tom ,   USA   (03.10.12)
Sure it will be fun to watch as your beloved Russia obliterates millions of Arabs as well and most of the sacrosanct historical relics of Christianity. Some of you leftist/nazis are so dumb that it defies the human mind. Go vote for Obamao.
34. #30

Please email me and tell how and when you became a self-hating American Jew.Your "warmongering" gave you away.

36. # 8

""Dagan is an important figure in Israel" Wrong, Meir Dagan has less credibility than you think. Most Israelis are laughing at him & want him to shut his mouth.
37. Iran is home to the largest number of Jews anywhere in the M
Pete Eriksen ,   Anchorage, Alaska   (03.10.12)
Friday, 22 September 2006, Inside Iran's Jewish community By Frances Harrison BBC News, Tehran Although Iran and Israel are bitter enemies, few know that Iran is home to the largest number of Jews anywhere in the Middle East outside Israel. About 25,000 Jews live in Iran and most are determined to remain no matter what the pressures - as proud of their Iranian culture as of their Jewish roots. It is dawn in the Yusufabad synagogue in Tehran and Iranian Jews bring out the Torah and read the ancient text before making their way to work. It is not a sight you would expect in a revolutionary Islamic state, but there are synagogues dotted all over Iran where Jews discreetly practise their religion. "Because of our long history here we are tolerated," says Jewish community leader Unees Hammami, who organised the prayers. He says the father of Iran's revolution, Imam Khomeini, recognised Jews as a religious minority that should be protected. As a result Jews have one representative in the Iranian parliament. "Imam Khomeini made a distinction between Jews and Zionists and he supported us," says Mr Hammami. 'Anti-Jewish feeling' In the Yusufabad synagogue the announcements are made in Persian - most Iranian Jews don't really speak Hebrew well. Jews have lived in Persia for nearly 3,000 years - the descendants of slaves from Babylon saved by Cyrus the Great.
38. #37 Jews live as dhimmis in Iran
Cynthia ,   USA   (03.10.12)
Since 1948, 85% of the Jewish population has left Iran. Iranian Jews can practice their religion and be proud of their Iranian culture while living in the US, Israel, Europe and other more hospitable parts of the world. Imagine how secure the remaining Jews feel with a Holocaust denier president who now threatens another Holocaust.
39. Iran when we can't deal with Gaza
paul ,   UK/Israel   (03.10.12)
It is rather curious that most of you Schwarzeneggers want to go big in attacking Iran when it seems to be such a big task to end the Gaza conflict(tiny Gaza without a real military force). just remember the 80 attacks since friday. It's been going on for how long? What makes you people think that attacking iran would not be already suicide .... I doubt it can be done without nuclear weapons. and then what happens to the civilians in Iran. do you want to hurt them too? they might feel an equal threat than we do .... And to those complaining about 'no one cares about israel' ... who do we care about? certainly not the syrian public .... what has been done there .... nothing ... So look at yourselfs first ... be a better person then demand the same, not before ....
40. # 37 Straw man pedals snake oil
Harvey ,   London   (03.10.12)
Sure Khomenni loves his Jews . More like he needs an insurance policy . These people are a collective human shield meant to dissuade Israel from attacking Iran . It's a good tactic because their safety is a cause for concern . Jews look after their own . However Iran is mistaken if they think Israel will put the very survival of 7million people on the backburner for this reason . Most Jews left Iran , years ago . They read the writing on the wall . They had no intent hanging around at the whim of a murderous barbaric regime . They saw what happened to the Jews of Arab states in the early 50s who suffered pogroms and lost everything Repeated threats to annihilate Israel have been taken very seriously .They have been analysed in order to separate substance from mere rhetoric . Israel will make its own calculations based on those findings and act accordingly . Iran will not achieve WMDs .
41. sorry -without the level of english
(03.10.12)
i understood as if obama agreed that israil can strike hit kill whatever it wants but away from american army .. i think in the start of mr,bush rule he said such a thing when he decided to be away from me, conflicts but alas he could not alas he had the second term with more complications to all even to israil and the jews in general
42. israel, Iran
Eileen ,   usa   (03.10.12)
Wow, I didn't know 25,000 Jews live unmolested in Iran. It sounds like Iran is just another target for new world order gang to bring down with their hype using a prostituted media. I pray for souls to be saved in Yeshuah our Messiah of all nations.
43. #39 GAZA / IRAN THE DIFFERENCE
DA URBAN POET ,   SAFED OPERA HOUSE   (03.10.12)
Israel is not allowed to strike Gaza properly ,anything other than pinpricks .Iran is another ballgame.
44. Russia Nuking Tel Aviv
Scott Havsy ,   Tacoma USA   (03.10.12)
Some time ago Mossad agetns met with Soviet agents. The Mossad showed the SADDAMS and that they could target Soviet cities with nukes. That is why Israel acquired US sattelite data for targeting purposes. Russia will stay out. They have common sense.
45. Cynthia, so in your opinion the 25% Iranian Jews don't...
Persian CAT   (03.10.12)
count? The fact is a lot of Iranian Jews have voted with feet and stayed in their ancestral homeland! Therefore, Iran must not be as inhospitable as you are imagining and want others to believe too.

47. #44, A great joke you wrote, but I wish you were correct.
Michael ,   California, USA   (03.10.12)
48. #32 John. We are not talking about a mere raid.
Chaim ,   Israel   (03.10.12)
#32 John. You underestimate Israel. Israel is as capable of destroying Iran's nukes as of destroying Iraqi nukes. Don't forget Iran did not defeat Iraq in their war. Will it be more complicated that Israel's operation against Iraqui nukes? Of course. But Israel is fully capable of it. We are not talking about a raid, John. We are talking about a full campaign which won't stop till the job is done. Moreover, it is pure madness to allow Iran to build nukes. Iranian missiles are a risk but they'd be an infinitely bigger risk if we let Iran tip them with nuclear bombs.
49. Segal is a lying war monger
Ben Alofs ,   Bangor, UK   (03.10.12)
His claim that Ahmadinejad "openly aspires to collectively annihilate us" is a bare faced lie. If he would have been a Jew hater he could have targeted the Jews of Iran, but that has never happened. Ahmadinejad in his speeches aimed not at Jews, but at the "Zionist regime", which is something quite different. It was Israel which introduced nuclear arms in the Midlle East andstarted the arms race. In view of Israel's aggressive record, its invasions and bombings of other countries it is understandable why Iran would want to reach nuclear parity with Israel, in order to protect itself against a possible Israeli nuclear attack. With warmongers like Segal around the possibility of a nuclear attack on Iran is not just fantasy.
50. 38 - who represents the approximately 25,000 Jewish resident
split ,   US   (03.10.12)
There is one Jewish lawmaker in Iranian's Parliament that represents approximately 25,000 Jews of Iran. To match the proportion an Israeli Palestinians should have 60 ,... BTW, when and where did he denied holocaust and have threaten with another one? ,...
51. 45 - Iranian Jews have voted with feet

Gabe ,   Canada   (03.10.12)
Just split ! You don't belong here.
53. Correction ,...
split ,   US   (03.10.12)
Post @ 50 should have headline "Jews live as dhimmis in Iran" ,... Sorry ,...
54. The world must unite against war
Leon ,   Algonquin territory   (03.11.12)
The US invaded and destroyed both Iraq and Afghanistan for dubious reasons. Billions of dollars later and hundreds of thousands slaughtered, one must start to think. I know that it may be difficult but we must think before we act. Bibi and this author want to wage war and the world should respond. We should cut all arms sales to Israel leave them to deal with problems if they choose to wage war.
55. #45 Jews are a tolerated minority
Cynthia ,   USA   (03.11.12)
They keep a low profile. Just because someone remains in Iran doesn't mean its by choice. It's difficult to leave your homeland and start over. The Regime makes it difficult for Jews to leave Iran, particularly to leave with their family members.
56. Nazi comparison is true but superfluous
Jabi ,   Canada   (03.11.12)
Even if the Shah were still in power in Iran, not an enemy of Israel, it would be the responsibility of the world, of the US, Russia, China, and EU, not to allow another nation to acquire nuclear weapons. The world is a much smaller place than it used to be, a global village, and the line must be drawn now, that no more such capabilities be in the hands of minor powers. This has got to stop. What suffering there will be if complacency, politics and cowardice continue to paralyze our world leaders. There is no other line to be drawn than at this rouge nation in a powder-keg corner of the world, a nation which does not yet have the bomb and is still susceptible to the use of force. Cowardice does not breed peace.
57. Mr. Segal is right.
Reuven   (03.11.12)
Denuke Iran, before it's too late.
58. Perfectly correct
John Frank   (03.11.12)
Perfectly correct. Imagine if Israel had not bombed Osirak (against American & European objections), those Scuds that hit Israel in the Gulf War in 1991 would have had Nuclear warheads on them. And the Ayatollahs are 100X more fanatical & extreme than Saddam ever was !
59. If the author's belief that the
John Robey ,   Austin, Texas   (03.11.12)
main lesson we should learn from the Shoah is to beat up on people why they are still little and weak then we are truly lost.
60. # 55
Birdi ,   Israel   (03.12.12)
You are 100% correct Cynthia. The regime in Iran does make it very difficult for Jews to leave & take their money with them.
