1. Be smart Israel - Hit 2 BIRDS with ONE STONE!!!
Estee ,   Jerusalem   (03.11.12)
A strike on Iran NOW will: 1) save Israel from a nuclear Iran 2) reduce the chances that the MOST anti-semitic prsident in IS history will be re-elected BOTH are extremely desirable and necessary for a safe Israel.
2. Folly to bow to Obama's re-election demands.
Steve   (03.11.12)
3. Outrageous If True
Ariel Ben Yochanan ,   Kfar Tapuah, Efraim   (03.11.12)
B"H - Jewish nation's survival on the Land is no selfish party-political game-playing - in Washington! Is this president willing to sacrifice our lives in order to be re-elected? Outrageous If True!
4. Enough, it's becomming a circus
R ,   Israel   (03.11.12)
Every day we get conflicting reports on whether or not Israel will launch a preventive operation, whether or not the U.S. will, whether or not such an operation can succeed, to what extent it can succeed, when it will happen, how far along Iran is, etc., etc. I don't believe a damn thing anymore. Politicians and reporters, as far as I'm concerned, you have lost your credibility.
5. Obama 2012 is by far BEST 4Israel/Jews!
American Jew ,   New Jersey, USA   (03.11.12)
Thinking beyond a mere few decades, past & future, is smart & best 4all ...
6. Obama got snookered, again?
new_york_loner ,   Rochester, NY   (03.11.12)
If these reports are true, then the delay in attacking Iran will extend into Iran's so-called "zone of immunity" period. ....At that point, the US Air Force and US Navy will have to do the dirty work of fighting Holy Wars at Israel's behest...the job will be "too big" for little Israel to do. ....Uncle Sam will then be forced to do Israel's fighting for them....once again. ....Israel will save billions of Shekels and does not risk any Jewish soldier's lives in the looming conflict. - Bibi is very clever. Bibi is snookering Obama, the US will have no choice but to attack Iran unilaterally....or face an extrajudicial, presidential, revenge killing - JFK style -all this is violence and hate courtesy of our "closest ally", the Israelis and their Mossad hit squads.
7. strike iran
sue ,   jerusalem   (03.11.12)
it's an election year. obama will do anything to remain in the white house another 4 years. he'll even visit israel......... one cannot trust the man. he hates israel.....................
8. Isarel Is Independent Nation
emanon ,   USA   (03.11.12)
Act like an independent nation: Israel must decide for itself if and when the time is right for a strike against Iran.
9. An Israeli /US strike on..
Mark ,   Lodz, Poland   (03.11.12)
Iran's nuclear ambitions would, in fact, win Obama the election. It's his chance to prove to Americans and the world for once that he's fit to lead the US - that he's a strong president and not just a sweet-talking lipserviceman to garner votes
10. #6 - New_York_Loner
Devorah   (03.11.12)
Are you back again? A shame. I invite you to document every war the U.S. has fought on Israel's behalf. The fact is that you won't find anything. If you come here looking for trouble, I guarantee you will find it because you are way out of your league.
11. Obama's committment
Adam ,   Ashdod, Israel   (03.11.12)
will last only until the election is over. I would be disgusted if this government actually fell for this nonsense.
12. Don't believe Obama !
Crasson ,   Bangladesh   (03.11.12)
Don't believe Obama ! America never came to help during WWII despite knowing millions of Jews were being exterminated., they only entered the war when Japan attacked them. America talked peace when Saddam was building Osirak reactor, but after Israel did the hard work, was able to invade & take over Iraq easily. America is 10,000 miles from Iran, Israel is next door. America is more worried about their economy, Israel their survival. Israel - do what has to be done....before its too late.....Attack NOW !
13. Sorry Bambi, but your authority only goes so far.
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (03.11.12)
You can incorporate the attack into your campaign and come out smelling like roses.
14. Israel/Iran dispute
us soldier ,   Lafayette, USA   (03.11.12)
the US should wait until after this election, and the next one, and the next one... before striking Iran. Iran is a regional pest, not a US problem, much like Iraq was. If Israel feels threatened, then they have the right to defend themselves, they have the capability and the resources. Net-u should put up or shut up, although he clearly hates Obama, he should stay out of the 2012 election
15. This U.S. president is a moral outrage on two legs!
Yael Schlichting ,   Raubling - Germany   (03.11.12)
If we had struck Iran two months ago, the casualties would be scores lower as if we wait until after the presidential elections. While IAF seemed to have planned a few hundred sorties USAF is planning some 16.000. Of course Panetta is right if he claims that USAF could do the job better, if we see it with respect to total destruction. But does anybody really want total destruction? This cannot be our goal as the peoples of Iran is not our enemy! It's their leadership! It would be enough if we destroy crucial elements of the Iranian nuclear program. The longer we wait, the more nuclear pollution will be after a military strike against the Iranian nuke program. It's deeply cynical to put Obamas chances for reelection over human lives!

Eaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (03.11.12)
It's easy to see why you are a loner. Uncle Sam has never fought for Israel. For Haliburton perhaps but never for Israel.
17. after the election Obama will attack Iran
zionist forever   (03.11.12)
Even if Israel attacks Iran there is a very good chance the US will be dragged into it anyway with Iran firing on US airbases in the Gulf. Whilst israel might be able to delay the Iranian nuclear program by a couple of years it can't destroy everything. The US with their hundreds of fighters in the Gulf, stealth heavy bombers and Tomahawk missiles can not only destroy the entire nuclear program but also at least most of Iran's missies which will limit any retaliation. Obama has got both Israel and the arabs all calling on him to take military action and he knows if Iran gets nukes its going to start a regional arms race which he can't allow to happen. Once the election is out the way he has nothing to lose by attacking because if he wins the election he doesn't have to worry about reelection in 2016 and if he looses the election its all over anyway so it doesn't matter. Christmas 2012 and there will be an American fireworks show over Tehran.
18. That "story" seems to be utter NONSENSE !
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (03.11.12)
19. where is israel?
cristian ,   argentina   (03.11.12)
where is israel in the middle east or north america? why are they longer in the white house more than in the knesset? is israel independient or always dependient of usa? north americans seem puppeteers of israelis puppets
20. #19 cristian
solomon ,   bklyn   (03.11.12)
You have just trashed any credibility you may have had of being 'fair and evenhanded'. Don't write your long, obtuse 'statements'. You show your true colors. Where is Israel? Look on a map. It is you who are a puppet; of your own hate. Pity.
21. #14 us
solomon ,   bklyn   (03.11.12)
"Iran is a regional pest, not a US problem, much like Iraq was." 1. Iran exports terror, supplying ieds to terrorists in Iraq and Afghanistan [to kill US soldiers, among others], setting up terror cells throughout the world (most recently in S. America and Africa), assisting Hezbollah in the bombings of American and Israeli consulates, of the US Marines and French soldiers in Lebanon. 2. The threat from Iran is real. The 'threat' from Iraq wasn't. Reality is a bummer, isn’t it?
22. Why not after
Migo ,   NA   (03.11.12)
Why not after the next Superbowl ?
23. After the Elections...hmmm
KB ,   US   (03.11.12)
well now, the devil's is in the details. Obama could not afford to have another war prior to elections. It would tank what little ratings he has. BB you presented the story of Esther to him. Do you really believe he has that depth of thought?
24. #6 new - LOL
solomon ,   bklyn   (03.11.12)
"....Uncle Sam will then be forced to do Israel's fighting for them....once again. " Once again?! When was the first time? (Hint: Never happened. Israel does its own fighting.) Actually, the opposite happened; during the Iraq war, Israel did not retaliate due to requests from the US. Get your facts straight. Then post.
25. Pls stay in New Jersey
Michel ,   Jerusalem   (03.11.12)
As Israelis, we know better what we deserve..
26. Take out both Iran's nuke and Obama's reelection prospects.
Chaim ,   Israel   (03.11.12)
It is no surprise that Obama regards his reelection prospects as more important than preventing Iran from nuking Israel. It makes no sense for Israel to wait till the election. Let us take out both Iran's nukes and Obama's reelection prospects. That is a huge double benefit for Israel and America.
27. Obama makes George Bush look positively brilliant.
Chaim ,   Israel   (03.11.12)
#5. Who do you think you're fooling. Obama is so bad, he makes even Jimmy Carter look good. Obama makes George Bush look positively brilliant. After all, deficits, unemployment etc. were far lower under Bush. Nor was America a laughingstock under Bush it is under Obama. Nor was Bush an enemy of Israel and friend of Iran, as Obama is.
28. Peace
water ,   Blue dot   (03.11.12)
Peace is better than war. Iran has powerful friends like Pakistan and Afganistan. I fear for the state of Israel and look what has happened to Americans in Iraq and Afganistan. Too many people have suffered.
29. Israelis, you have an extremely heavy decision to make
Cameron ,   USA   (03.11.12)
30. R U Kidding???
Maggie ,   Catty, USA   (03.12.12)
How serious can the threat be to Israel if they are willing to postpone an attack until after the elections in the USA? That is ludicrous! The threat is real, Israel! Obama is using you to gain votes. Why else would he ask something like that?
