As a retired Lt. Col and veteran of many actions taking out the enemy leadership ALWAYS improves the military efficacy. The replacement is always undertrained and unsure of themselves. Keeping hitting the chain of command changes the balance of power and allows us to dictate the battle. Not taking them out lets them pick and choose the location and time of the next war crime.

Israel must negotiate and learn to live with its enemies side by side. The enemies are too numerous, too large, too persistent. Israel can survive through diplomacy, through forging alliances, through acceptance from other states. There will always be forces capable of defeating an isolated small state, so force is not the mean for long-term survival, only for an immediate defense.

According to international law Hamas is responsible for using their civilians as human shields and according to the same international laws - human shields are combatants. As for the propaganda - if we do nothing at all - we are blamed. If we respond in anyway - we are blamed. So it will happen regardless. Might as well do something to earn the critizism. What about our citizens? Do they not have a right to live without fear of attack? No we should send about 10-20 artillery battalions down there and let them each fire 1,000 times for each and every rocket or mortar.

in my "talk backs" many times. To focus to much attention on Iran at this time might be a mistake. Gaza is the main event and only disproportional responses to terror can work.Israel, must put them in the dark. They cannot pick and chose when to behave or misbehave.For every rocket launched an important item to them must be eliminated (a bridge a road a power plant etc) Warnings of these happening should be given in advance.I would discontinue any target killings and wait and see what their reaction is.Don't forget we let the 1200 Vanson out , now we have to take responsibility for that "action"

if you drive people of their land and steal their houses it is reasonable for them to fight back. The local Arabs were resisting the creation of a Jewish state on their land long before Israel was declared a state. Israel should have been created in America or somewhere else.
