the money or go to prison. What about men that are battered by their wives or girlfriends? Is there a shelter for them? Do they get benefits? I think we live in a sexist society that pays benefits only to women. For example the N.I.I. pays widows for the rest of their lives, if they do not remarry. But a widower receives benefits only till his children go to the army. Either pay both sexes equally or stop the benefits when the children go to the army or reach the age of eighteen.

This is a wonderful advance in our society, but Dov brings up a good point- we have to make sure to include any spouce who is battered...not always women!

...is widely misused to promote state-sponsored polygamy. I dearly hope that legislator here will be wiser. But having seen proven false accusers receiving reward instead of punishment, I cannot help but fear the worse.

I too have seen woman falsely claim that they were beaten by their husbands. This occurs especially in divorce litigation.
